Why, Arien...
...what a tremendous melon you have!
Or, perhaps, is that the mystical "Helm of Brosnan" (can be worn for days on end and never give you helmet hair, adds +3 to charisma and +2 to any chance of scoring a James Bond-ish type role in the movies)....
For the record... Loving the character pics!

Oh great DM, live forever.
I would never call you a name like that!
I was merely referring to the fact that I had promised to give you this, and I had yet to keep my promise.

added some giant demon louse to the mix
Ahh. I see.
Some things to think about before you start. Due to the nature of this module, movement needs to be very specific. If you are vague or ask me where you are, then I will pick and let the chips fall where they may. There will be maps, some crude and some not so crude. Lots of illustrations too.
Marching Order? Just for the fun of it.
What weapon do your character carry in hand usually? You know, from room to room?
As this is a high level adventure, I will assume that you are all on high alert, and that the Rogue checks for traps on all doors, chests and altars. What I will not assume is that you search for secret doors, you search dead bodies or you are taking a item if you do not say "i take this item".

well...
Arien is, by definition, a tank. It seems to me that it would be foolhardy for him to not march point except when the rogue is handling traps and such. The only real alternative I would see would be Kadrin, no?
I think that it would likewise be foolhardy to not have one of the fighter types as rearguard.
My suggestion for marching order:
Arien
Kadrin
Sparrow
Lun
Jarenion
Finarsil
Maximus
or
Arien
Kadrin
Maximus
Lun
Jarenion
Finarsil
Sparrow
I assume you knew this, Roger, but Arien will always default to having Luin’naur at the ready, shield in the off hand.

some are obvious
Yes that is true about Arien and his sword. I was more thinking those who use missile weapons a lot or carry a multitude of weapons.

MmmmmHmmmm!
I like either of Olan's proposed marching orders, myself. I kind of picture Jarenion as being a 'mid-party' sort and would have suggested an order similar to Olan's second list, myself (albeit possibly switching Jarenion and Nimu's cleric's spots - not that it matters much).
Standard weapon in hand for the mage will, of course, be the Staff of the Stone Lord (cuz that thing is just too friggin cool and versatile).
Regarding secret doors and elves innate ability to notice them even if they're just passing by and not necessarily specifically searching for them... I'm assuming that this applies most specifically when said elf is simply moving through an area and not too preoccupied with much of anything else, yes (i.e hardly any chance of randomly noticing a secret door when engaged in combat with an efreet army or some such)?

add efreeti army to giant louse demon
I will take the secret door detection into account but if you want the full effect of your ability, you need to look and it is very easy when in a dungeon like setting with monsters trying to hug you at every corner to forget to check. Plus checking take time.

Okie doke... I kind of figured that's the way you'd approach it, just wanted to be sure before we got moving.

Marching Orders
I'm good with Olan's suggestion for marching orders, though we may want to move Tann's character closer to the front if he is to be checking for traps and such. If need be, Kadrin can be the rear guard, though he'll grumble a bunch about it.

yeah
Good point about the trap guy being close to the front. Though it's not *that* much effort to check for traps, then fall back as we advance.
To me, Sparrow becomes the ideal rear guard otherwise. Do we really want the dwarf to have to slowly waddle up to the front of every fight?

Indeed...
...that said, the Arien, Kadrin, Maximus, Lun Telumendil, Jarenion, Finarsil, Ody, Sparrow arrangement makes perfect sense.
