Aranwen is going upstairs to don his armor and look for signs of where Davena went. Then I plan on going after the gigglers.

P.S.

Ch'dau's off to check on Nya more to ensure that Gib and Aranwen get the attention they need before he does than to make sure the girl is okay... if she was smart enough she did what he told her to, to begin with....

Also, he might be apt to filch another mug of Mort's "reserve ale" whilst he's back there checking.

Pursue? As in, leave the Inn and go rushing into the night? Seems like a bad idea... like a 90's to early 2000's horror movie... I'm in! But, yes, fully armored first.

Perhaps we should check on our wizard connect?

As much as Ch'dau would love to go after the gigglers, Brom's right... probably not the best of ideas at the moment... aaaaand the "mage connection" does need to be considered just in case there might be some aide or insight that might be provided from that. That said, and our party knowing what these things are capable of, do we really want to let two of those things traipse through the town? We got pretty beat up by 16 or so of the things, what happens if the whole of the town's population suddenl;y takes up maggot farming?

we got beat up by a bunch of zombies and a giggler. Two gigglers are likely going to be a bit of a challenge unless we can find something to give us the advantage.

Strategically, Gib isn't a fan of going out after the ghouls and losing what little advantage their position within the inn might provide but he also wouldn't allow the townspeople to become turned just for the sake of a strategic advantage. When all is said and done concerning the healing (of which, Gib will be adamantly insistent that the front line fighters receive the full complement), he will advise Aranwen that they...

  1. should do all that they can to assist the city's official guard in the destruction of these creatures before more show up, perhaps seeking out the captain or commander as quickly as possible,
  2. and with the apparent turning of the pilgrim, the bodies of the dead should be burned with immediacy,
  3. the party should seek out their contact as soon as the threat is put to rest and not wait until morning as morning might be too late (the pilgrim was from the road which would indicate that the city's defenses have been breached; the creatures were first attacking the pilgrims on the road outside of the city and they've now moved inside the city, focusing their attack on the inn—what was their objective? Was it the party? Doubtful. Where's the woman and her bodyguard? Are they the target? The cause?).

Stubborn priest...

...got his guts all hanging out and still wants to heal others first. You honor your god, rrow'ka!

As to the bullet points proposed by our battle-cleric, I agree on all counts. Have some ideas about Davena and her man, Garn, based on silver screen moments and the lady's encounter with Aranwen, myself, but I don't think any of it would translate to IC knowledge (or even supposition) from Ch'dau.

Heh... that's the point of those silver screen moments.  To give you guys some ability to piece together what's going on (or what you might think is going on), when it wouldn't make sense for your characters to know - or even begin to guess.

Players that don't post lose their ability to vote on what the party does, so unless there are voiced objections, I'm taking Brom's plan as "The Plan".  I feel like it meshes well enough with Aranwen's stated desire to go after the gigglers.

I've been in contact with Kithran's player (PrincessAli); she's a bit bummed right now, which is impacting her posting, but I expect to see posts from her, so I'm not worried.

I have heard zero from Atharis' player (oz).   I've never gotten the feeling that he has really bought into playing this game, so I am officially worried.  Given that his last post was twelve days ago and contained zero meat as to what his character would do, and given that he hasn't been putting a ton of effort in from day one... he needs to be very worried.  I have already warned you all that I will be stunned if everyone survives this adventure.  A surefire way to make that happen is to not put effort into the game.

*wonders what re-hilting his falcata with the leg bones of a wizard might do*

"The Plan" works for me.

Yes, seeking out the city guard, offering our aid, and informing them of the need to burn the dead seems like a good plan to me...after taking care of healing and arming and searching the inn for signs of Davena.

timeline...

Okay, the plan as I see it:

1) Heal.
2) Equip armor
3) Check on Nya, Davena, etc.
4) Eol had mentiond dragging undead bodies outside to burn them, Brom has concurred.  With sixteen bodies, this will take a little time.  Do this before or after pursuing other gigglers/aiding the town watch?
5) A comment at one point had asked me about Mort (the Innkeeper).  Do you intend to check on him before you leave?
6) Search and destroy giglers/assist town watch.
7) Find the mage contact, late hour be damned.

Let me know, folks!

Well...

...when I made reference to Ch'dau burning the bodies, I had imagined it happening while the clerics were healing the others but, whatever works best and/or is general consensus from the party works for me.

As to Mort, I figure that when the cat checks on Nya he'll ask after the proprietor at that point... if she's bold enough to do so alone, I'm okay with that. If not, I imagine it can be done once we're all geared up and ready to set out into the town. His chambers are liekly to be closest to the Inn, anyway, right?
