Wowzer......
A lot great stuff to work with. I'll get something up by Sunday for sure. There is enough time span for couple of posts. I had some ideas for the fill time and now there is more dressing to work around.

the list
Here are the spare parts sent to Tess fro mGrace. I will add them to the ship character sheet as a spare part list.
1 Catalyzer for the compression coil
200 feet of Fiber optic cables
1 Fuel injection manifold for reactor
1 Emergency Kill Switch for reactor
4 Intake valve for Thruster pods
6 Nozzles for Thrusters (for fuel or air)
2 Hydraulic arms for bomb bay doors
4 “rejeuv” Algae packs (used to create oxygen, these are dried preserved Algae that will flourish in the tank)

And ending leading to a new begining
Fantastic post Al, I laughed a couple of time through the first section. I found the sheriff and the Alliance Marchall's fight behind the reporter particularly entertaining (even if John doesn't).
We'll have to think of something interesting we can do with the spare parts, I'm sure there is some unintended use they can be put towards that will turn out far more useful then just having a load of dead weight hanging around till it's needed.
I'm starting to write my post now, but fear it won't be ready until mid-week next week. I'm thinking that John will be with the ship either installing and testing the new sensor array or installing the backup battery, hopefully with Wolf but I'll wait for Tann to confirm that. I'm unsure as to exactly what he'd be doing, something to work out here, as John would insist that the installation of the backup battery is more a priority then the new sensors array. Something John is whole heartily ready to argue with the Captain about (despite the apparent lack of wisdom in arguing with the Captain).
I was also thinking that over the three months John and Tess have been with the Roc they would have been familiarizing themselves with the ship and getting to know how things are done, a particular point of interest to John, however, would be emergency procedures, with topics of discussion ranging from the unlikely event of a major system failure to the downright ridiculous.
Also of note, John has a few qualms about illegal activities... but can put them to rest so long as he doesn't know they are going on, so would have established something with Captain Wyatt and Willow along the lines of "If it's illegal don't tell me, I'd rather be ignorant then culpable/liable." (In fact, seeing as John has been on the planet for a while, it may be possible for the farmers to know this and to suggest that exact thing to Wyatt or Willow instead of John just out and saying he doesn't want to know about illegal activities)

Asher's duties?
Well I see Ash as the wrench monkey in the engine room. He has a talent to take things apart and put them back together but he's not an engineer to figure out modifications. He would enjoys just working wih John and Wolf to keep busy and learn more.
I can see that he'd hang on John stories about parachuting and wing suits. That is just sort of thing Asher would rush into.
My posts will have Ash spending time helping Wolf and John, you guys just sort use that to have him around. If want him crawling through the boat to string cables, tearing down stuff so new parts can be put on, then go with it.
I was also have him down more with Willow and now it could go deeper with Eol's character helping to advance the training. We have a Master now to lead our workouts.

dead weight
You are about to travel through the black for 15 days, I'd personally want to have as many spare parts as possible. You want to build robo-algae, well that is your call.

Eol....
Are you good with joining Ash and Willow in their daily classes?
Over 15 days even a simple one session every day would add to both Ash and Willow's skill base. Easy enough for Fu Sheng to judge what would be good for them. He might have a good laugh at the recorded lessons and then start to add the little improvements to stance, move and such.

Well put up my 2nd post, hope it is satisfactory and show you what sort of character I am presenting here. I also hope the GM doesnt have any problems with it, but if he does I am sure he will let me know.

Also
I highly suggest we get as many vital systems wrapped in that EMP tape as we can, along with installing the newtech sensor array and dash. Just in case.
PS: Aryn, nice post! Can't wait to start interacting with Jessy!

Nice post
Nice posts guys and girls!
You've got the pressure on me to post something decent now... shame it's so late as the inspiration to type has struck but I need my sleep tonight
On the subject of robo-algae, yer, spare parts are likley more helpful but I was enquiringly as to anything else that could be done with the bits and bobs. It is John's priority to get redundancies and safeguards in place before installing new equipment.

Geeks bearing gifts
Reminds me of a time that a player (warrior) asked me for a vorpal weapon. I said sure, no problem. He was very happy for awhile then realized I had given a vorpal sword for no reason. Then he became really really twitchy. He gave a vorpal sword so that means everything is either immune to vorpal or everything needs one just to hit. And it is probably possessed and I am gonna kill the party ....
Relax. I promise no EMP in my next post.
