No worries, Roger...
... we'll keep it cute and cuddly.
*rip, tear, fling, fade to black*
Was an interesting path of thought that I got led down regarding Fu Sheng, though... made me consider some aspects of the character that I hadn't put too much thought into as yet, so, thanks for that Aryn.

that's ok
There won't be much time in the next campaign for the rip tear fling.
More like Dodge, Jump, Bleed.

Absolutely
Yeah no worries, I know better than to try and turn it into something trashy. I would never do that, but a little harmless flirtation never hurt anyone.
Besides, Jessy likes to use her feminine wiles to get her way when she can.
Promise to keep it PG for sure.

Flirting with Fu Sheng...
...would likely turn him redder than if you cut him to ribbons, I bet. I mean the poor little guy nearly blushed just looking at Willow fer the luv o' Petey!

Spotted that ;)
Willow's hardly the celibate type, and her vows took her in a completely different direction
I guess, what we're getting at is nothing between crew, nothing on ship (unless it's two passengers...Captain could hardly prevent that) and anything else is...off camera.

I've posted.
Sorry it's taken me a week to get a post up, and sorry it's so long. I know you've only just said long posts, although the topic seems to have moved on to breaking the "siblings and Aunties" rule
Anyway, all posts so far have been great to read! (when I get round to reading them, I can't always everyday)
EDITS:
"I would think after two hundred years trapped in a ark-ship the celibacy rule of any faith might have been tossed."
I'm sure I saw a monk in the Companion Training House in the film, or are we not going to count the film as cannon?
"Let's keep in mind this is a PG site. My daughter follows the thread."
Cool. Hi Alacrity's daughter *Loki waves*

Not at all...
Niiiice post, Loki.
I'm rather liking the fact that John's sort of the "odd man out" (for lack of a more ready and applicable term) where the crew's concerned... avoidance of Trish, personality, attitude, etc... you know what I mean, I think.
Can't wait to see what happens next!

What do you mean?
Thank you. I think I know what you mean.
Apart from John being quite different from the rest of the crew by way of upbringing and history I want to portray a character that's more visible mentally scared by the war then we've seen so far. If you know what I mean.

*nods*
I think so... *grins*
I was thinking about the somber/serious tone that comes across in his posts, his rather aloof manner, and, of course, the "Alliance perspective" he's got on things, I suppose... I think we're on the same page, anyway.
Out of curiosity, how old a fellow is John do you imagine?
Never mind... found that info on the character thread.

Same page
I think we are on the same page, but although John has what could be termed an "Alliance perspective" he doesn't have a high opinion of the Alliance either. It takes two to fight. In his mind the Alliance is just as to blame for the war as the Independents, but the Independents started it.
And although the early 30s isn't old, he has seen a fair amount and it's said that war ages people. He's living a desperately different life from that of his younger self.

Different perspectives
Different perspectives are good in a game when played well. Obviously Jayne and Mal were not always of the same mind-frame, as was Simon. However, as a DM of far too many years, I also caution about taking opposing sides for the sake of doing so or when it does not add to the game. I have seen good games perish at the cry of "I'm just playing my character".

"Just playing my character."
I recognize that as well, John isn't going to get in the way of the game progressing. Working on the Roc is a significant step up from where he was before he joined the campaign and so won't endanger that, even if he disagrees with it he'll do his job.
