Game Issues and the like...
Sorry to hear you've been sick Taimat, hope you're feeling better and the family emergency has been resolved.
I do not believe this game is a failure and very much so would like to continue on. I think we have a good group and the rp is going well. I hope everyone else is with me and we will continue to move forward. I'll have a post up soon.
Thanks.

*incoherent babbling*
You... um... but... there's... what?
Okay, so I'm playing a paladin this time around and Chiron wouldn't speak up about this... but I wanted to make sure you know what Seluumiel just passed up by declining the wand.
5750gp.
I don't know, maybe Seluumiel is the kind that wouldn't care about the monetary value, but as a player I cringed when I saw her wave away the wand and wanted make sure you knew how much that thing was worth.
It's the 100gp material component that makes it so spendy. The price of the wand has to include the material component for each charge, so even something as relatively cheap as the pearl for identify really raises the price when you've got 50 of them.
Anyway... that was all.

The shiny wand
Oh well, eso es como la vida. Thanks for the info but let me explain my reasoning:
I knew I was turning down a nice prize, just wasn't aware of the precise worth. Regardless it wouldn't have made sense for Seluumiel to take the wand, she is trying to pull strings for something with some more power to it. It's not that she doesn't care about monetary value at all, it's just not at the forefront of her mind. Seluumiel was reared in a temple on Evermeet, though she didn't have a lavish existence the elf never had to worry about her needs being met and she learned to value magic and the mysteries much more than wealth. That and Seluumiel is overly cautious about the house and would rather have a scroll that duplicates a more powerful divination than a wand that is worth more but duplicates a spell she can easily cast herself. It just didn't make sense to have her take the wand.

I figured it was something like that. C'est la vie.
Stupid characters not being munchkins.

shield piffle
The "magical fortification" I'm asking about is a simple +1 enhancement, which should be 1k, for the adamantine spiked shield.
If the shield can hold a full complement of shield enchantments and a full complement of weapon ones (friends of mine instituted a house rule about this, since characters that fight with the shield as a weapon end up getting kind of shafted by the book, and I'll go into more detail if you wish), then my plan is to make it something quite fearsome, especially considering its providence in her background.

???
Are Ava and Deathwysh related? All her posts have just... vanished.
Makes it a little more awkward to read through the game from the beginning and my internet browser says there are three more pages to this Q&A thread than we have posts for now.
Oh well.
Tiamat, if you're still up for running the game, I'm still on for being in it.

This game is still wonderful, and I'm glad that this is still going on.

yeah
we are still going through with this game.
btw Ava is under the impression that people from our group have been smiting her. Thats why she removed her posts.

well, that explains why she retracted everything...
Someone is smiting me a lot, too, Tiamat. I don't know what it is, exactly, but my smite count is going up by 8 every couple of days.
The whole applaud/smite system is a bit too wonky for me as it is.

That it does...
Now that you mention it Celediel, there does seem to be something strange going on with the applaud/smite. I've noticed my applauds are decreasing by one and the smites increase by one every few days at the same time. Not really a big deal, but I did notice it and since it was brought up here I thought I'd mention it.

The Curious Case of Karma Causation
yeah, t_catt mentioned that if the same person smites and then applauds one person, the count is effectively balanced at 0.
and +2/+1 since my last post, and I'm not aware of having done much of anything. It is a mystery.
Edit: found out what was going on. Will let you know in a PM if you wish.
