Couple of Things to Think About

Okay Guys

You also have to bring the treasure wagon back intact, so if an Entangle spell was cast you probably would not be able to move the wagon!

Out of that many Goblins there certainly has to be some bows and arrows among them!

I have some things to do today, but will see about answering your terrain questions later today (within the next 12 hours as it is a bit after 10am where I am!)

So My Suggestion Is ...

..... work out the details about how you all are going to get closer and SPY out the situation (hint hint, nudge nudge) and then post your actions for SPYING and then I can Update from there!

This Should Be Enough Info

Okay Gang

The surrounding terrain of the forest are mainly oak trees and cedar trees, plus a lot of shrubs and some scattered briars that afford some concealment all around the clearing.

The terrain slopes down into a miniature valley of sorts that has plenty of grass and moss and rocks all along the length and width of the clearing.

There is a spring of natural water to the far right of the treasure wagon inside the clearing.

Part of your view is blocked by the treasure wagon, so you do not see who is leading the goblins. There are nearly 100 goblins encircling the wagon in a semi circle all around the clearing and then the almost 40 more threatening the Halflings (without you being able to see who the leader of the goblin band is because the wagon is blocking the view!

There is clearly a wagon trail that has led from the outskirts of the Forest of Frie through the densely wooded area and into the clearing. The trail goes off into the trees beyond where the Halflings are encircled by the goblins.

The clearing is about 150 feet wide and 50 feet across which makes for a natural place for the goblins to gather and spread out when breaking off into hunting parties or attack squads.

All these goblins are male, so the main goblin habitat where the females and children and other males are located is actually far from this area (you do not need to know where!)

There are enough spaces between the trees at certain points where horses can ride through and certainly most humanoids can run through between the trees.

There are No Rocks or Boulders in the immediate area!

These Goblins have caused most signs of life (birds, animals etc) to have fled the surrounding area or were hunted and killed off if they had not escaped.

Although the goblins are supposed to have some guards posted, they have become lax in their assumption that no one would dare venture this far into the Forest of Frie.

They are more focused on their celebration and all eyes are on the plight of the Halflings, who both hold each other, but have curiously calm smiles as the threatening goblins advance upon them!

heheh

Thanks Hammer.

Okay guys, Danamar is certainly capable of scouting ahead.
And Cal certainly has the means to aid in our spying.

Sneaking is a tad out of Toraads skillset, and dogma for that matter. And lets not forget the self-placed weight on his shoulders at the moment (previous post)...

Thoughts?

Well ...

..... I figure that Rextugenous will work his way down towards where the treasure wagon is located, because that is the wagon he was assigned to guard on the journey!

He will stay in the woods, but will be ready to recapture the wagon when the time is right for doing so!

hmm...

Danamar will sneak around to have a look at the leader of the group. Of course we won't be able to kill them all, so a diversion might still be required. Unless of course getting rid of the boss drives them away.

I'm a bit sick at the moment so I won't be able to post in a couple of days probably.

Spying

thanks for the info hammer. I agree with getting a better look of who is leading this band. I am not sure how stealthly i can be. But if I use my inviso and walk around the opposite side of Danamar maybe be we can get the intel we need.:-/

Updated

Toraad is preparing. ...don't mind him....

I swear, someday I'll stop brooding. But, matter at hand, and the Dwarf blames himself for the situation.

When this much is all said and done a round of drinks would serve the party well.

Okay Guys

Whenever our friend Ziklag is able to post for Sir Cal and Orion, then I will work on an update that will hopefully cause each of you to head back here to the QnA to figure out just exactly what to do!
