party in immediate danger
% LAVA SPEED (PER ROUND) % LAVA SPEED (PER ROUND)*
1-20 30 ft. 61-80 50 ft.
21-40 40 ft. 81-90 70 ft.
41-60 45 ft. 91-100 75 ft.
*If roll is this high, there is a 25% chance of the volcano to explode doing 10d6 fire damage and 2d6 subdual damage for any character within 80 ft. radius of blast point. Reflex save DC 20 negates 1/2 damage. If save is failed, character is knocked to the ground (full round
action to get up).
(rolled a 91 and a 97. The first was for the speed of the lava and the second was for the 25% for the volcano to explode. Lucky for you all the volcano did not explode. The lava is moving at 75ft/rnd.)
Xavier 1d20+8 result roll 7+8=15
Chiron 1d20+2 result roll 8+2=10
Seluumiel 1d20+3 result roll 5+3=8
Tenacity 1d20+5 result roll 2+5=7
Volcano 1d20+0 result roll 6+0=6

Welcome to the new world, now say hi to the pretty volcano...
So just how far is the lava from the party? I'm interpreting that as it's at the mountain peak right now since the volcano just erupted, but want to double check.

eep
And what about Tenacity's and Camille's initiatives?
I grabbed the necklace because Tenacity doesn't have anything in that slot currently. I guess we don't have to worry about identifying magic properties for these items?

....too close....a little too close
Quote:they see the forceful, white hot flow of lava come down the mountainside, and is about to cover the portal that is set into the mountain they just came through
I'd guess we were pretty close to the top because it sounds like the lava is going to hit the portal in a round or two.

Ouch
Well then, I guess we better gets-to-gettin'
If we move at a full run we should be able to outrun the lava.

stuff
I plan on scooping at least one other person onto Diligence when I mount (or so, I just realized something better that means I get to start running). Tenacity doesn't know that Chiron can only summon Prajna that way once/day right now, but he's the only other one that she is certain can ride a horse.
Looking over my sheet, I don't have any deflection bonus, either. That ring would put me at 24 AC to go with my 112 HP.
I'm lobbying for tankitude, which may not be that important. Don't mind greedy ol' me.

Mounts and Stuff
Pick Seluumiel up! My vote is cast.
As to the magic items, you make a good case when you say you're building a tank. Sounds like that'll help keep my lovely Seluumiel alive. I say go for it.
Taimat - will try and get a post up this week, just want to try and strategize a bit before posting.

dont have a character for camille
I was able to find tenacity's character and rolled her init.
but i need camille's sheet.
Also.....the volcano's primary blast eruption covered the portal in lava. though no explosion took place, the white hot heat makes the lava run like a waterfall down the mountainside and melts some of the mountain away with it (think errosion on a massively fast scale). I assume that the party at least moved 10-20 yards away from the portal after exiting.
when i get cammille's sheet so i can roll init for her, the race begins.

My actions may not be in sequence, but I felt we had to keep moving. If order is wrong and someone's plans contradict this, I can fiddle and fine-tune.
Now that I look, Tiamat, how are you rolling? Using a real die or a program?
A 7, 8, 5, 2, and 6 are pretty sad results.

How far across, approximately, is this canyon?

roughly......
100 yards or a foot ball field across. Also, there appears to be a small snaffu with your posted plan. anyone who figures it out gets 500 xp. An extra 500 xp will be awarded if everyone makes it across relatively unharmed (alive).

length
WEll if it's 100yds across, there's no way one length of rope is going to make it.

civil engineering time?
What's the dirt like in the area around this end of the bridge? I'm wondering if it looks like it would be possible to dig a diversionary trench with, say, a shield edge, in order to prevent the thing from getting burned while people are on it.
Also, what do the slats look like, vis-a-vis horse hooves?
