Ch'dau - moderate wounds
Aranwen - moderate wounds
Gib - minor wound
Kithran - minor wound
Midge - minor wound
Cedric - moderate wounds
Atharis - dead

Magic:
Midge has three mana points remianing.

Both Cedric and Gib have their compliment of second level spells remaining, but have exhausted all of their first level magic, save Cedric having one bonus light spell.

  LOVED the battle-scene, though! Super intense! Hooray for most of us surviving it!

What does the death of Atharis do to effect our party's visit to Crandel? Weren't we originally headed this way so he could meet with a council of his order? Do we need to send someone in his stead to, at least, let the Secret Strom know that their mage is meat and won't be able to make it? Is it even important to the plot? What can I kill next?

What, indeed, does it do?

The retconned Midge is still a Circle mage.  Not the same order, yes, but it would behoove him to send word that Atharis is dead.  They are one overall organization, after all. 

Does the party still care to look for Atharis' contact?  That's up to you guys. 

Note that there are still a double handful of zombies that were turned from the last fight that are wandering the town.  The watch can probaby handle them if they work together, bt they do need to see to the gates.  Up to you guys if you want to hunt the stragglers. 

And then what - if anything - you want to do about seeing where these came from, etc.

If there's more to hunt, Ch'dau will gladly volunteer!!!

Beyond that... 

1. The Circle Mages - Up to Midge on that one... Ch'dau doesn't meddle in the affairs of magic users. He'll kill you with tooth,claw, or blade, but magic is up to the "non-battling" types. He probably doesn't have an opinion on the matter beyond, "Well, Atharis is dead. Our work here is done," tbh.
2. Find out what's up with the gigglers and zombies? - Very much, YES! That's twice in less than 24 hours that those things have ruined his day. This nonsense has to stop! I have laser pointers to chase and tuna in a can to nibble, and yarn to bat around... Let's find the source of these things, burn it to ash, and take a cat nap!
3. Is Kith okay? Can't do anything until I know she's alright Then, let's kill some stuff~!

Love the cat humor.

Kith is fine.  Relatively minor gash on the forearm; just the same temporary paralyis that Ch'dau and Gib have both survived already. 

...Kith was okay. Just have in mind a Han Solo/Chewbacca kind of thing in mind where Ch;dau and our rogue's relationship is concerned (Kith being Chewbacca, of course.   

I agree. Great battle! 

I have posted for those that are interested. as you'll see, Gib is suggesting the hunt continues for the undead and that it be their priority while the city watch makes securing the gate and rousing the men of the town to deal with the bodies by putting them to fire. 

While not engaged in battle but making their way towards the zombies, he will be willing to discuss their next course of action. Even though Midge is not of the same order as Atharis was, Gib wouldn't assume that their responsibility to their companion has ended in his death. He will absolutely be for continuing the quest to meet up with Atharis' wizard contact if for no other reason than to report the fate of Atharis the Great. It is what he'd expect when he falls to the evil he will face in this life; at least then there will be a record of his passing.

Gib also feels the urgency in pursuing the undead to eliminate the threat to the city. If anyone's wounds need binding, he'll quickly work with Cedric to administer first aid. If any prove to be visibly at a point where Gib is concerned that the victim wouldn't survive another dance with the zombies, he'll use his high prayer level to request another miracle of Therassor in healing.

I have to say, I am extremely impressed with the reaction to Atharis' death.  This has been excellent reading! 

I am really looking forward to the story unfolding.

Gib's "ammendments" to Ch'dau's orders to the guardsman are perfect, as is giving an opening for Aranwen to interject.. Ch'dau will agree, too, with Gib's call on tending to Atharis and is more than eager to hunt the remaining zombies.

So... do you guys intend to torch Atharis' body right here in the street?  Will you recover his personal possessions or burn them, as well?

Ayrn said he'd be spotty this week; I would assume that Midge will not want Atharis' spellbook to be destroyed.  If he does not get a chance to post before my next update, I will NPC him to that end.

The way I read it was that, yes, Atharis' remains would be tended along with the bodies of the fallen townsfolk... burned and final right here in Crandel ASAP.  Ch'dau has no interest in the mage's possession , himself( he's got Atharis' blood as a reminder, now), but, yeah, I can see that Midge would protest the burning of his spellbook and might claim ownership of that, so he won't protest a "respectful looting of the man's body."
