Well... there are other ways to open a door.

Automatic handicap buttons, for instance!

Do the doors lock?
Is there anything to hold the doors open?
Are the doors "blast doors"? Could a well placed grenade blow them off their hinges? Could our bullets shoot through them?

you ask more questions...

Do the doors lock?

All exterior doors/doors between building modules lock. A few interior doors do, as well.

Is there anything to hold the doors open?
You could disable the spring arms, or prop the doors open.

Are the doors "blast doors"? Could a well placed grenade blow them off their hinges? Could our bullets shoot through them?

This is a research facility, not an armoury. A grenade might take one out; a chunk of APE certainly would. Since your assault rilfe rounds are armor piercing, they will probably go through most interior doors. Exterior doors?

Exterior doors are noticeably heavier, and seal against the elements.

One last question...

Are there windows in the interior doors to look through?

Just trying to help, Sarge!

Looking to give you a better picture of our surroundings, sarge, so you can work that tactical magic of yours.

Not sure about this, but there are still a whack load of you "important" folks in that itty-bitty hallway that seems primed and ready for a grenade toss.

Nah, self preservation. He rightly figures he needs all the firepower around him he can manage.

He's worried

He'll end up in charge and as the lowest ranker that would be REALLY bad

One, two, three, charge!

I would love this game to continue but other that throuwing myself forward in the breach--though Inga is not stupid. She is am in the back patching up the wounded--so far only the one. IF I have to freeze my career off much longer wanting for action I will e frozen stiff.

inconsistencies

Brom:

Note that the corporal keeps referring to Giles as a colonel. To the best of your knowledge, doctor Giles is a civillian.

Also note that in the original briefing, you were led to believe that communication with ARF36 had been normal up until a couple of days ago. Fields would have you believe it has been at least three weeks since there has been any contact with the outside world.

By Jove!

Well, lookee there. You know, as I was posting I thought something was whack, but seeing how I was posting from my phone I didn't bother to double check.

I don't care what you say about him when he's gone, Tann. Olan's a right fine guy, and a decent DM as well.

What Brom said Tann said.

Brom are trying to foment troubles?

Anyway Inga is begining to suspect that these soldiers are not from our timeline, perhaps an alternate one close but not close enough--hence the inconsistences. Inga will take to W/O THe blue flield might have shifted our station out of phase and been displace by this one with it own reality.
