Okay, serious time
Body armour and bullet proof vests. They don't last forever and after taking a shot, the usefulness of one is suspect. No rule in Serenity on this but found plenty in real life and other rule systems.
So....
Here are some ideas I have for life span of BPV
Simple - The armour rating is how many bullets it can take before they are useless. so -1W is one hit, -2W two hits etc etc.
Basic roll - 2d4 plus armour rating. So a -5 suit would take 7 to 13 shots
Soak method - d6 for every armour rating point represents the damage it can absorb before becoming useless.
Percentage - every hit represents a 10% chance of armour failure.
Thoughts? Anyone familiar with other systems?

Tattoos
Once you get the armour off the bodies, each one of them has this tattoo on their arms/shoulder. None of them have any federal marshall credentials either.
Dillon has 150 credits on him in cash.
The two guards have 50 credits each.

I did a small post for John's progress and just filled in the blanks on the situation on the ground. I am assuming that Willow will run to Havelock's aid. You may post again to continue the story if you have already.
As always, feel free to ask questions if anything is not clear.
BTW - I was looking for input on the bulletproof vests and their longevity after use. Especially from any of you who use different systems.

Gotta Get Gone.........
How ever we go on as Ash said we need to get a wiggle on.
I'd think Willow, Tess, Sifu and Ma could hold court of sorts to get the folks back in the Roc. She does need to get Haverlock to the ER for those wounds quickly. Ash and Sifu could help carry him. Then I'd think Wyatt, Wolf and Ash beeline to the Atmo to help John get a turbin so we can get to the black. They might take the mule and then Ash could run over.
We may only need to that close planet, relatively a short trip. So the match doesn't need to be perfect for a short trip.

Check the time for repairs
I am on my phone but I am pretty sure the repairs you need to do will take a lot longer than 3-4 hours. You are stuck on the planet unless you can find a miracle,
You have caves you could hide in, or the processor building or Rocinante. But really, you are in your own little Serenity Valley right now. Outgunned, nowhere to run. Your advantage is that they can not bombard you because they want the violin.

Working on a Post
Question not sure if I already asked this been a long week. But is the ship movable at all, like on thrusters if she still has power or wheels maybe??
Also just to let everyone know I passed the written test with a 94 so once I get my card I'm CHL qualified

well
You have only one drive pod and you need two to lift off. Not to say I wouldn't listen to a creative way to get it into the air. However if you do get airborne and into the black, your next landing will be very difficult.

Ok put it this way
Can she hover and possibly move while doing so? Not fly, even if she can't move can she at least just get off the ground far enough to hover. That's really what I need to know. I may just have a creative idea
Also can you give us a rundown of what weapons, ammo and any useful gear they wear carrying please.

VTOL without the VT
Well ....
You have only one thruster to create the lift needed for a Vertical Takeover. Tess would be piloting under near Impossible Complex conditions with a botch leading to flipping the ship. However she has Plot points she has not used.
However you still have to wait for the core to cool before you can replace the shielding and it has only been two hours since you landed - you will need at least another two hours before it is cool enough to attempt.
These are the repairs needed:
The Primary Buffer Panel, still intact, cabling and connectors severed. Re-cable. (1-2 hours)
Containment Jacket, punctured, replace. (wait 4 hours, replace 1/2 hour)
Port side Drive Pod beat up but intact. Interior turbine total loss replacement needed.
Replacement turbine space flight doors needed.
Minor damage to the hull, negligible no need to repair at present time. (High end estimate repair time 3-4 days)
