In that case...
...I'll go with my original thoughts and keep the rum.
Like i said, I did think about it good and hard before I did it (figuring that it would be in character for Dash considering his state of mind)... soooo, off to edit again. And, by the by, I did consider that "horking the rum" might just set someone off and, if somebody's gotta "rough Dash up" over it, I don't reckon he'd mind it bein' Willow, at all.
Another smashing post, Lady Vanadia.

Excellent all around
Blamm messaged me that he won't be available until Monday, which is fine.
I hope to catch up on some of my background stuff this weekend. Have to give most of you some contacts still. I'd like to post everyone's character sheets for reference as well.
Love how this is shaping up and I do like the pacing so far, not too much to overwhelm and not too slow to bore. When i began this, I was looking to do a fast intro to the ice job and move you on, but you all rose to the game so well that I didn't want to cheat you of the story. Kudos to Blamm for making me lengthen the "date". Also to Vanadia for pestering me to not simple move us along in a woof moment. (yeah yeah yeah, woof (hand gesture of dismissal) it is the next day)
You make me want to be a better GM.

Ya get what ya give
You are a fantabulous GM, Al, rest assured. I've always thought it was cool that you did "bend with the wind" when players/characters in your games "took side trips" that you perhaps weren't expecting (this little excursion on Beaumonde being an immediate example) and, if I had to pick just one single aspect of your GMing skills that sets you above so many others, I'd have to choose your "dedication" to character and story development. There's lots of GMs out there (and players, too) who really could care less about story-building and character development and are just content with hack-slash-treasure-level up-hack-slash and don't put anything more into it... "Okay, you've slaughtered the entire tribe of goblins, healed and divvied up your treasure, now, you travel for three weeks (and oddly enough nothing happens), and are beset by yet another tribe of angry trogs..."
It ain't all about the chop-chop-boom-boom-gimme-gimme, man! It's about immersing yourself in another world and, yes, telling a complete story. GMs like you inspire folks like us to be better players, my friend... If you put good stuff out in the universe, good stuff comes back to you!
Aaaaaaand, now that I'm done kissing Roger's butt, lemme say a bit about the crew... You folks are "the cream of the crop," IMO, and I've admired each and everyone of you for your abilities to make your characters unique and believable in everything I've seen from all of you. It's truly an honor to be in such great company.
Wait! Motel 6?!?!? Ewwwwww.... we ain't stayin' here!!!

I'm curious...Van, are you a Romance novelist fan?

Oh boy...
I haven't read the posts in the game yet. I just dropped in to see what I missed and there's this long thread that I have to catch up on which, from the looks of things, will lead to an interesting read in game when I can find the time to get around to it.
I apologize for the delays folks. I've been asked to head up a company expansion project and it has basically eaten up every evening this past week. Now, like the true fool I am, I picked up another art contract. I'm hoping to have it finished in a couple of days straight up though (black and white being quicker for me than color), but this doesn't mean I won't post before Al does... I hope.
I'm looking to post tonight, or tomorrow. Though somethin's funny 'bout my crew... I step to the loo for a bit an' come back to a bunch of huggin' and weepin' over how sweet an' capable everyone is. Near t' gave me the jitters...

And Brom's post makes a full set
Excellent post, too so well worth the wait. I'm thinking that Sam's twitchiness and verbal diarrhea (i like that phrase so much i had to use it again) distracted Willow from Wyatt's own problems during the negotiating.
Congrats on the company expansion project. It's a lot of work, but it's a sign of the respect the company has for your capabilities. Temporary absences in order to advance at work (and therefore afford trips to Toronto with the family...hint, hint) will always be acceptable to me
of course, I could hardly (cough, cough) expect otherwise

Money money money
Okay. This is how it is:
You started with 250 credits, and were paid 500 cr upfront for the delivery of goods to dead people (T:750)
You left Bellerphon and went to Beaumonde (Port Fee: -240)
At this point you were low on everything. To refuel, resupply and do proper maintenance would be expensive (300 fuel, 120 provisions, 120 restocking medical and 320 for month maintenance T: -860). So Captain Tight Pants decided to skip the maintenance, skip the restock, and only give 60 cr to provisions.
You then gained 600 credits from Dodger, plus 120 credits in goods you could sell and about 120 credits worth of food you won't sell.
You are leaving Beaumonde which has a higher Port fee (-300)
Grif gave you half the fuel, so you needed only to fill it up. (-150)
So you have 600 credits left, with 120 to come when the rum is sold (and if not drunk by Dash). There is a sore need to do maintenance and resupply the meds, but it isn't dangerous yet becuase no one has been shot in awhile and the ship is well loved. Now technically, the 720 from Dodger and the 500 before is "take" and I imagine that you all are suppose to get a part of the take. Did we ever establish how that was going to work? Since 1220 divide among 6 people is 203 each. That would leave Wyatt with little to keep the ship in the air. Or perhaps the agreement is to pay shares out after doing fees (then it would be 720-440 = 280/6 = 46 credits each)
Feel free to check my math.

Money, my 2 cents
Al is right, we didn't work out how the profit sharing would work. On the show, Mal owned the ship, and the rest were crew (though there are hints that Zoe contributed to buying the ship) so Mal had to pay them wages out of the profits.
We are put some of our starting credits into buying the ship even though we joined at different times, so I'd think that would count as buying off the ship's debt, and in the case of Willow adding a sick bay, adding upgrades.
So, we all own a piece of Roc, though Captain owns biggest piece as Captain. I say we all have a stake in keeping her in the air, so the payout of shares happens after the fees are paid.
Opinions?

Money and Maintenance
I'd love to eventually take my family to Toronto... unfortunately, not any time soon.
As far as the goods are concerned, the math looks good, but I'm an artist (never trust math to an artist). With Wyatt's set of mind he isn't about to leave port without doing as much to prepare for the inevitable as possible. That means that if we have 600cr left after port fees and fuel, Wyatt would want to make what repairs could be made and restock the medbay. So, the suggestion would be 120cr for the medical supplies (he has this bad feeling they are all going to need it) and a minimum of 160cr to maintenance. Sorry Kora, but you'll have to make do with that for now. Total, that leaves 320cr split six ways = roughly 53.333cr apiece.
I also suggest that all shares are split up after the expenses of running a ship are met. Of course, since we've such a capable mechanic on board Wyatt isn't always prone to go full ante on the repairs...
If you're all good with this consider that Wyatt gets the repairs needed (if Al is going to allow it and it doesn't take too much time), has Willow restock the medical supplies, and then divies out the remainder of the cash to the crew as appropriate before taking off.

not a problem
I haven't posted the next part yet so I can add a piece about utilizing the dock supplies and working through the night to get them done. The Medical supplies are the same, no need to roleplay the purchasing of that . Many ships would come at all times into beaumonde and want to resupply and get out fast.

Payin' bills an' profiteerin'
As far as the payoff goes, Dash is sure to kick back the better part of his cut to pay off that bottle of rum. So long as he's got a place ta sleep, a bite ta eat ever' now an' agin, an' Roc keeps movin', it's all good wit' him, though. (Do need to keep a wee li'l bit fer bullets an' babes on occassion, though... c'n i work it off doin' dishes?)
