Dae could care less how Moraglin accompanied them, she was just glad that the flamboyant and outspoke mage stayed with them.

Clint leaving was a disappointment, but only brief. She would see this mission through without anyone else being with her. It was the task she had been sent to do. Not that Dae wanted to do it herself. She was realistic about her chances alone. She might just be able to get information and then get out of there. With her current companions she might be able to do more.

The day stretched on into evening. The edge of the Barrens were finally crossed. The vegetation became sparse, grasses, stunted brush and leafless trees. There were no sounds of insects, The only thin that stirred were the dust and grit of the sun baked ground or small bits of debris blown in form other places, when the wind was strong enough to stir them.

"Here begins the last part of our journey. It is about 100 miles more or less to where the mage towers stand and whatever in going on out there. There have been tales of monsters and evil mishaped humanoids."

Alex looks as the mage pulls out a magic carpet. "The things you mages can't do without." he says under his breath though he could have sworn that Zara could easly hear him. The little half elf seemed to have taken a great pleasure in the old High Priest since he had returned to the party though why the cleric had no idea. Maybe it was the fact that the cleric spoke his mind. Or Maybe it was that he worshiped the god of secerts a strange god for a cleric. But before Alex could think any more about it he felt a sharp pain in his back as two Pegasus wings erupted from his back. Alex Screems out in both pain and shock as the change from human into Pegasus becames more complete until finally standing before the party is a beautiful black Pegasus. Alex's horse changes into the firey horse that it is and starts to charge at him then suddenly stops as if Alex had used his Telecnitic powers to sooth the horse. Then turning back to the party Alex sends into everyones minds "What Do I Do now."

"Stand still for a moment, to let yourself adjust to the change in perception." Zara stated sagely, strange that it came from her.

"It would seem the fluctuating magic of the Barrens has awaked a latent ability for shape change. The same flux probably caused you nightmare to lose control of its shape too."

Zara sat calmly on her mule looking at the newly transformed cleric. "You do make a beautiful Pegasus."

Odd, that the one who might be the most upset with the cleric's sudden change was the one who seemed unruffled by it.

Dae was surprised by the sudden change in Alex. She watches it proceed not knowing what to do to stop it.

"Moraglin, Is there anything you can do to stop that change." Dae calls out to the mage who flying up higher to escape the dust had not seen anything until she heard the scream.

Moraglin quickly descended all the while looking for the source of the magic to create a counterspell. However, not finding a spellcaster, even invisible, she cast Greater Disspell on the effect, but it did nothing to stop the spell in progress.

Moraglin took a s closer look after her spell fizzled.

She was surprised to discover there was no spell in effect. The change was not magical in nature.

Dae'd question to her was answered in a flash. "No, there is nothing I can do. it is not a magical effect. That is, there is no magic that is causing Alex's change."

She let the rug settle until she came face to face with Alex in his new form.

"Very nice, Very Nice indeed. I don't know how it was done but I like it a lot. You are quite handsome as a Pegasus."

"How do you feel? I daresay the scream was more in mental shock than physical. I have changed shaped before and I never noticed much pain but them I knew what was happening to me. This must have been a bit shocking to you though."

At the sound of Alex’s scream, Oko will look around for where the attack is coming from. Both magic users say they can not find the source, but the fact that Alex was now a very nice Pegasus indicated else wise. The horse he was riding on changed as well. Staying out of the conversation since he had nothing to say he will continue to look around for anything out of the ordinary. Besides the Magic carpet Moraglin was now riding.



OCC-Sorry folks Oko is still not talking to me, He hates not being told the whole true story so is in a quite mood, such is a cat.

Alex stares into the eye's of Moraglin a thing he didn't appreciate he let out a flare though his new nostrils that sounded more to him like the breathing of his horse more then anything else.
"It was a bit of a shock." Alex replies after a few more minutes. "But the wings spourting out felt wierd it was painful but at the sametime not. I don't know how to explain it I just hope that if I ever get back to my normal shape that I ether don't have to change again or that I can get used to this form."
Alex then turns his telepathic powers over to Oko and suddenly starts charging at him but stops just short of having a sword stuck in his lower left leg. "Sorry Oko the mind of this beast took over for a little bit and sinced you tension and thought you were going to attack it."
Alex then turns to the little half elf with sorrow in his eyes "How do you think I turn back to myself again. Think of the normal me again."

"It was not really pain but shock you feld as your muscles and skeletal structure changed.

As to returning to you true shape, first of all, you are not the beast nor is it in control. Your sudden charge was panic. You are in control and because you are in control all you have to do is think of yourself in you own shape. Concentrate on those things of your natural body that are not part of this body. Like the feel of sand running through you fingers. Layin on you back in the water. Ah.....holding something in your hands, eating using s fork."

"Now give it a try."

"If I were you I would try out this new form. but I realized most are not comfortable in a different form. I can see that that you are not confortable doing this."

"I however have taken many other forms in my life. Each one has their uses."

If you can't change yourself back though I might be able to do it for you. I think I know enough about what you look like to get it mostly right. Besides I can offer a few improvements, taller, younger, just about anything you might want to change."

However can you trust Moraglin's ability to do so. Hmmmm.

"Hhrumph!" snorts Zara. "Uncle Alex is fine the way he is. AND I assure you that after such an unexpected change, that HE wants to be himself again."

"Sometimes it is easier to close your eyes and think of doing something hyman, like brushing your hair." Zara adds another suggestion to her list how to revert to your true form. Zara waits for Alex to change.

"Oko, would you please keep watch, especially for any of those bubbles." She smiles at the Felani, "This would not be the best time for one to show up."

Oko will nod his head once in acknowledgment of Zara’s request will shift his focus towards the sky as well as the surrounding area for any incursions of critters or otherwise into the area that they are in. He will nudge his horse forward and start to circle the group, at about 10 feet out keeping the group in sight as he does so.

Alex closes his eyes and imagines holding a fork between his hands and walking on a cold beach in the dark. Slowly but surely Alex Starts changing back into his human form. When Alex's mouth reforms he lets out a sigh of relief then whistles for his horse who comes troughting over and nudges Alex's hand for the treat he promised in his tele-link to the horse. Alex quickly opens a pouch and hands the horse a carriot then unloads his sleeping bag and goes to sleep.

"Looks like that took a lot out of him, seem to me we either camp here or load him on the carpet a find better place for a camp."

"Oko, That is your department, camp finding. If this is not a good spot then you will have to load poor Father Alex onto the carpet."

This was said with not so much as a by you leave from Moraglin.

"I would like to get more miles in this day so Moraglin I would appreciate if you would share you carpet with Alex." Dae suggests to the Moraglin. Though she is not sure of the response she will get. "It would make it easier for Alex and allow them to speed up their travels to cover more ground this day."

"I daresay you could both enjoy some company. "In fact Moraglin I would appreciate you putting hast on our horses. Those hills in the distance could provide us with some much needed cover from prying eyes." Dae did not question the woman's intelligence about understand what she meant about "prying eyes".

Moraglin let her carpet drift over towards where Ales was.

"Yes indeed Alex why don't you join me It would be good to have an intelligent person to talk to on this dreary trip."

Once Alex is settled on the rug she pulls out another pillow from her bag and offers it to him to rest against. Then flies over to each of the others takes out a wand.

"There you go all of the horse are sped it will last you long enough to get to those hills." She puts the wand away with a flourish and settles down commanding the rug go up and to go faster.

The distance to the low hills dwindles and their speeding horses cover twice the ground as normal.
