And

Silly me!

I had thought this thread dead ...

Me? I have nothing to fear, even if they did somehow manage to track down my specific computer (for some ungodly reason), get through a triple-layer firewall and find my folders.

They would come up with diddly-squat. I have nothing on my computer I need to worry about. Now, my laptop, yes. But it is only attached to the internet at random hot spots for just that reason. It still takes a few minutes to track a specific unit, and I still think they have bigger fish to fry than my piddly butt ...

My two cents

I think that ultimately, its going to fall through. Not because of public opinion or anything, but because it's going to be near impossible to police without resorting to, as Ryst put it, a police state. Now I don't know the specifics or the legal mumbo-jumbo, but in the end I don't think it's going to have too great an impact.

Weeeeeelllllll....

If you would call actively suing the dead a not too great effect...well, the families of those who died before their copyright infringements could be discovered.

I wish this place had a vampire smiley...
