Character.
My idea was suggested above, but has changed. It is now a Crucian Monk.
But I'm awaiting conformation if Crucians exist in this world. Let me know, and I'll change it.
Don't worry... no templates, no half air elemental. All clean!

Bard
How about a Half Sylvari/Half Apanonar grew up in Elanfalee in Coria. Has been traveling to learn new songs and improve her bardic skills.

Excuses for sounding like a dumb@$$ but what are Crucians, and what is an Apanonar?

ohh.. 3.5e
For some reason I thought you played old school version.
Thanks for the offer then but I will decline. I really don't enjoy the modern D&D games.

Apanonar
...are the third race of men in Audalis. Those from Ertain, Coria, and Pardinal. They share a common lineage (settlers from across the ocean), as well as a common language.
Never heard of a Crucian.

Audalis Races
This is straight from the Races of Audalis:
Modern citizens of civilized Antaron are largely considered to be members of the third race of men, called Apanonar by the elves of Sylvari. This race colonized southern Antaron via ships around 700 BER, better than eleven hundred years ago.
The countries of Ertain, Coria, and Pardinal all draw their populations from these. The people tend to be on the tall side of average, have medium to fair complexions, and due to time's dilution of the gene pool, can possess virtually any combination of hair end eye color. Even so, brown eyes and brown hair are the most common amongst these countries.

Crucians
As far as I have been able to find out, the crucians are a medium humanoid (reptilian) race of monster in 3.5e.
They have a base CR of 2, and are detailed in at least two of the 3.5e supplements (which I don't have) ...
Nearest thing I could find to them in Audalis was the Slaa'kar ...

if that's the case...
...then the "canon" answer would be to go with a slaa'kar character. However, this is Almerin's game - he can have mutant miniature giant space hamsters as a playable race for PCs, if he wishes.

hmm
I should've known about the humans
And I don't think playing a reptilian character is a very good idea in this adventure. It's possible, but it makes matters a bit more complicated than I am looking for. I hope that is no problem.
and Alacrity... that is such a shame. I don't see why it would matter so much, since you know my style of gaming and it doesn't draw heavily on the rules or powerplay.
Too bad. I know Tann did very well in my Chakran Portal game, and he never did anything above 2nd edition.
Looks like we have five players left. That makes for a good group.
I hope to receive characters soon!

Ranger
I would like to be a Sylvari ranger if that will fit this adventure if not a spellsword in the making

Crucians.
As explained above, they are a slight mix of a human and a turtle.
And fair enough I guess, I will look for something else.
Hmm... 4th level eh? Would you be okay with me taking the Shadow Sun Ninja from Tome of Battle as a Prestige class, only not using maneuvers? It only has one ability which actually requires a maneuver, and I'm sure we could work something out on how to change that. Right?
I will make a human ( it's a core race!!!) monk if you're okay with the above suggestion.

My turn to seem stupid here ...
... cause I don't understand.
If you're willing to settle for a core race, why not a core class?

Because
I very rarely pick anything core... I like the expansions much more.
The shadow sun ninja offers versatility to a monk, such as positive and negative energy touch attacks, the ability to launch a burst of light, a darkness aura... all that in addition to stacking to a monk's own abilities.
