Well...

Not that I'm trying to argue whether your droid should have a holographic face or not, but I won't give it to you for free. A holographic face should cost something and rightfully it should give you some bonus. And don't say that you don't want the bonus because a droid with a holographic face is going to get a bonus for it. I'd say maybe 200-500 Credits and maybe +1 or +2 bonus to such skills as Deception and Persuasion.

"In the newer games" means exactly what? I haven't played any Star Wars games so my knowledge of features in such games is rather limited. The newest game I can think of is Force Unleashed which, incidentally, takes place many years after Old Republic. Technology has advanced since then so it does not surprise me that a droid with a holographic exterior is available. During the Old Republic, that is much less likely, and your character is possibly the first and only droid to have a feature that even resembles it. In fact, you should probably be paying a lot more than what I suggested.

Anyway, holographic face is OK, but don't think that I'm going to give it to you for free. You can have +1 bonus to those Skills above for a 200 credits version, +2 for 500, +3 for 1,000. At the bare minimum, you'll have to pay 200 credits for a holographic feature like that.

No worries

I already took that into consideration, and I purchased a holoprojector just to function as her facial hologram ^^

Starting point

So I thought about giving you some information about where you'll start in the game. This is nothing you won't find out at the very beginning anyway so there is no harm in what I'm about to tell you (no spoilers).

The game starts where you are in a rather common (or more noble) transport starship. Depending on your class you have a different reasons for being there. There will be a noble there who is in the employment of the Galactic Republic. This noble is travelling with an important item (one which I won't give up right now) to the Republic. Secrecy is important, so very few will even know the noble has the item.

So your options of being on the transport are not really limited to that situation. If you want to be a character that is less fitting to the situation that's not a problem, just some modifications that needs to be done. But this is how I was thinking of having the game start.

DROIDS

Ah, dream come true, how do you feel about having your character 'modified' Reralae?

An issue of Destiny Points

I noticed that some of you have already given yourselves Force Points and Destiny Points. Of course, I never mentioned how many Destiny Points you start with so it is easy to see why you assumed you'd start with 10.

You get +1 Destiny Point when you advance a level, so when you start at level 10 you naturally assume you start with 10 such points. For this game at least, that would be wrong assumption.

I could come up with such lame excuse as to say "technically, you never advanced to 10th level because you started on level 10," but the truth is that Destiny Points are very powerful tools and starting the game with 10 of them would just be giving you too much ammunition.

You start the game with 1 Destiny Point. You get +1 DP each time you advance a level, just as normal. You can only have Destiny Points if you have a Destiny, so if you don't have one you don't get the points. If you complete your Destiny, or fail, you lose all your remaining Destiny Points. When you choose a new Destiny, you start again with 1 Destiny Point.

Well

I don't quite understand your question; last time, I developed the idea of Kate based on an astromech droid, and the personality developed from there. This time, I developed the droid based on Kate's personality.

I am quite happy with how she turned out though, and at least there won't be a language gap this time around... being able to speak only binary really doesn't help too much for a talkative droid...

Actually, Kate this time around also kind of came from a sort of fusion of the two characters (Kate and Anna); Kate's personality, coupled with Anna's physical combat capabilities (dual wielding)...

I guess it's kind of my compromise, because I really couldn't decide between the two which to play ^^

Droids

Hey, at least I gave you access to a vocabulator early on. The fact that it wasn't programed for basic isn't my problem, you could have reprogrammed it.

On a different subject in the Star Wars Combine I have a BD-3000 droid named Anne, well, she's designated BD-3000-ZV-001 but I still call her Anne.

And Arruna`dira will be happy to keep switching your skills and traits, for a price. I'll include Kate in my character's history.

Just for reference

I have changed my speeder, it's got the same stats as the modified R-2000 Raptor Speeder Bike but I've changed it's class to Y-Shaped Urban Patrol Speeder.

Alrighty

You may have noticed that I just started the gaming thread. The reason you can't post there yet is because I want to establish the scene first. Why? Because I don't want to force you into a situation that you don't think your character would be in.

The scene starts in the embassador's starship, which ironically is a warship filled with panicking passangers as it is being attacked and boarded by Madalorians. It's basically just an excuse to have a lot of troops on either side. This is the standard starting point in this game. Whatever reason you have for being on Malachor V is fine by me. I would like to know, but I won't argue as long as it's withing mental stability. You can also have any connection to the embassador you like.

If you do not want to start on the starship, for any reason other than to annoy me, I would like to know where you intend to start. The two events will take place pretty much simultaniously, so you can't start on Malachor V and catch the starship before it leaves port (it already has). I would like to know so that I can plan the scene and somehow link it to the main plot.

If there is no problem with where you'll start, I'll establish the scene as soon as I have all characters. No backing out after that, please.

Ships and vehicles

I am quite happy to start on the ship, but can I have had my speeder bike in the cargo bay or at least in the ship somewhere?

In that case

Can you suggest what I would have to do to be allowed to tinker with the ships systems? You know, improve speed, transfer power to the rear shields or guns. Generally stuff that would help us survive an encounter with several, probably highly armed, fighters.

hmm...

Well, to begin with, you would need to be a member of the ship's crew. As far as I know, you're not, although it would explain why you are on board in the first place.

Then you would need the proper schematics. You could probably access them in the engineering through a computer-port or something (words escape my mind at the moment).

That was the easy part. After you have gained access to the schematics and the engine involved, you would have to start working on them. The simplest way, I guess, is rerouting energie from one system to another. None of the critical systems can increase in power without another decreasing in power. So you could increase the speed but you would have to decrease weapons or armor. Although quicker and easier than the next tactic, this is still timeconsuming and not as easy as it sounds. It can take up to an hour or more just to rerout one system to another.

The more difficult approach, but the more rewarding, involves adding power from an external source. You add powerboxes, mess with the engines a little bit and so on. It is horribly time consuming, taking many hourse for only a small boost. What's worse, working on machinery that is being used can take them offline at best. At worst they blow in your face, causing chain-reaction that eventually destroyes the ship and everyone on board. You imminent death is somewhere in between. There's a reason why this is never done while in the air. On the other hand, this allows you to boost the system, at least temporarily, without reducing power in the other systems.

Think about it. It can take you hours to modify your Speeder, a transportation much smaller than the starship you're on. It is logical to assume it takes at least twice as long and twice as many working on it to accomplish the same sort of boost in the systems.

(This is not Star Trek where much of the same feats can be accomplished in matter of minutes or with a push of few buttons)

Not a star trech player so that's OK

I guess it would have to be the first option but there is no way I'd be a crew member, I'm a mechanic at an illegal chop shop.

Re-routing power from weapons to the shields or engines would be my first choice but like you said, I'd have to be given access or have to hack the systems first and it would take a good length of time.

Most fighters don't have good hyperdrives so getting into hyperspace would be a top priority but to do that we'd need to get away from them.

How much of a power boost would it be to plug a speeder into the ships power grid or even Kate? (Joking, I wouldn't play Kate into the power grid)
