A minor clarification

When you make a stat roll or an ability roll, you will roll a d20 + your current modifier. Please pm me the results so I can tell you what you learn before you post... if I offer a roll like that, I have information already ready to give to you.

Looks good!!

Thanks!! Wow! Not where I expected the "Old Man" to be... But cool.

That would have been quite the dangerous trek for Ansgar to make, yes?

me thinks

that Doogan heard the wrong conversation. You're responding to the conversation from Searo which we are not as of yet privy to.

Indeed.

I believe Doogan also responded to the wrong conversation. Would you like to edit your post?

Oops

Hmmmm...

I thought they were similar - guess I will reread. I will get to it and modify things later this afternoon. (Sunday)

If you wish to move the game along go ahead - the basic jist of things would remain the same. Doogan has questions but would likely join whatever quest is presented - it is the point of the game afterall.

Edit: The misread was minor. Instead of "powerful forces" the King spoke of "cultures threatened." But the idea is the same - Nixmir is bad, you were picked for some speacial reason. Implied = quest is to defeat Nixmir. Both groups basically heard the same thing, just phrased a bit differently.

I will still change things when I get a chance, but it really won't make much difference. At least I don't think it will.

Maybe

Probably not, Nomad, you're right.

I'm waiting for the other players to either post or indicate that they have nothing to say yet... although I would like for the bard to start a song... I may have lost one or two in my week of absence.

Edit complete

Doogan has now switched from "powerful force" to "cultural Icon." He likes either expression.

Curious...

Shaithis: How long are you waiting for the others to post? Not looking to be pushy. More wondering when I should be looking for an update. (that way I don't become frustrated/ disappointed when I come on the site each day hoping for an update and find none )

EDIT: BTW... I really like where this is going so far! Keep up the great work!

Some forest

Shaithis: You didn't show this forest you mention on the map. How long is the forest? Will I be able to prepare better spells? What are you looking for in levels because I still don't see how level ones are going to fight a litch which Nixer appears to be.

Still Going

I am currently without computer, but I have several ways to access the internet near my home. I might be on every day, or every three days, But I won't go more than a week without posting.

The forest I mention surrounds Sylestria in the southeast, upriver from Eastern Kingdom. It is called the Wood Elf Walley, and it is home to the wood elves. The place Anna refers to is a place called Redleaf Burrows, a shire in the northern area of the Wood Elf Valley. Anna may know more details. On the map, the dark green area on the bottom right is this valley.

Laying to rest some concerns.

The fact that you are level ones is taken into account and should have already aroused some suspicion among the characters. Being treated a little too well? Waiting for the hook?

All shall be revealed.

Update on the party

Ansgar *Ayrn - human barbarian from the Northland Kingdom, a rugged tundra of dire kodaka bears and white dragons.

Anyroth *Austerus - half-elf from Charndale, a city where elves and humans live together in harmony, locked in eternal conflict with hobgoblins and orcs.

Kilton Oprium *Ion Kired - human wizard from the Blue Tower of Brocitania, one of the eight wizards' academies, locked in a deadly internal struggle.

Anastiana Nailo *Tus Lased - wood elven noble from Sylestria, the capital of the insular wood elf nation, occupying a dense jungle. It is rumored that wood elves are cannibals.

Sonny Lightheart *Luthor - semi-famous bard from the Western Kingdom, a fertile land still reeling from an international conflict fought on its soil.

Doogan Ferndrum *Nomad D2 - gnomish explorer from Sanctuary, a mountain city of gnomes in the north of Agoria, a land of fantastic creatures and dark secrets.

So what are the classes

Do we have a cleric? Just wondering how much damage I can take s a lowly mage. Oh and I had a question on spells and your school specialization (while my squishiness is in question) am I bound only to the spells of my school? do I get a bonus casting spell of my school? If not bound to my school is there a school that is anathema to me and forbidden? If so what is it?

Look to Tus

I believe Tus' character is a druid. Pretty much the only one with healing spells. The bard might choose it later (though I don't recommend it... lots of other, better spells to know).

So... yeah... play safe!
