stuff
KoD - You are welcome to join but I have three people asking for thief and really only one is needed. Another fighter or cleric would be good.
Raven - A Gil warrior would need one heck of s backstory to explain his presence.
So I have Tann, Aryn, Raven, Dragonblood, Keeper of Dragons and Merideth interested.

Fighter it is
Twas a dark night, not the average dark where you could still make out your way along the path but rather the cannot see you hand in front of your face dark, when a lone figure staggered through the front door of the Wayward Griffin and collapsed upon the threshold. For several days the young man lay unmoving in a bed tended to by the elderly innkeepers wife. "Bah, kick him out for he is taking up valuable room." muttered the keeper. "We have not been full up or turned away a single travler since he came here." his wife replied. "Rest now young man." she hurried away to fetch more herbs for the healing brew steeping above the fire.
On the 7th night the lad awoke. "Where am I? And who am I?" he asked. "Where is the Wayward Griffin. As for who, I do not know." came the reply. "Your things are here, perhaps they will offer you a clue." The lad looked through his things, "Hmm from the looks of things I am a man at arms of some sort. The lack of markings and pardon if I say my arrival at such a place as this, signal that I am not nobility. I suppose none of who I was matters. Today I begin life anew a sell-sword." The lady nodded, "but do you recall at least your name?" The lad shook his head, "No. I guess I can pick my own name." After a bit of thought he spoke, "Noctus shall be my name for it was the dark of night that led me on this path."
He gathered his things, thanked the keeper and his wife for their aid and left all but a few coins to them in payment. Waiting until night fell, the lad set out on his new life.
I am thinking a fighter in the style of a musketeer as opposed to an armored knight. One fleet of foot and using Rapier and dagger if possible. Light armor and quick of wit. Wirely but strong and flexible. If that is suitable
please gen up the stats and such focused on dex over pure strength. Any race that makes sense, esp if one is suited to evenings/nights or the muskateer type.

I'm Alacrity Fitzhugh and I approve this character
I like the musketeer concept. What do they call that in Order of the Stick - Dashing Swordsman.

True true
Yup, figured it would. I was thinking of a banished young man, who'd done the unthinkable and killed a fellow Gil. Of course that would have an effect on how he views the world. Such a banishment would be a terrible blow on his honor of course and he might not care too much for his life having already lost everything dear to him.
Or.. he could believe he'd been done wrong - the kill having been "justified" or accidental. It might have had a terrible blow on all his beliefs and he'd begun to question other rules or laws of the Gil society. Perhaps he has a great hunger to learn everything he can of the "outside" world and no loner has the wish to throw himself mindlessly into combat.
As to why the Gil would be in Drannon... That's a tougher one.
If you'd rather not have one, I'll create a Vidarak instead. No problem there.

another thief!?!?!
Well I had a whole concept for a thief or bard developed but I think maybe we have a few too many thieves.
My concept is an ever-optimistic, extremely well-natured anarchistic cidal who loves wrestling. so maybe i could swing that as a fighter. if not i can return to the drawing board. Anyways just throwing out my thoughts.
Looking forward to it,

Ok I can change
If need be I have no problem with that. Also I know of a 7th person interested in playing but he was saying he wanted to play the parties tag along......Dog. Yes a Dog not a character but a backstreet hound.
Kyle and I were talking on the phone last night and he told me he wanted to play the parties Dog companion as that is a roll no one according to him has ever played in a campaign before. I told him I thought it could be fun so Al he may just contact you about it, but not 100% sure.
But again I can change my character if someone else wants to play a Thief. Just let me know and I will create a new character tonight.

Okay, let's get organized
Okay getting a rash of thieves and cidals. Before we end up with a short listed party and for the sake of survival, I'd recommend that you have:
Two warrior types
One generalist (Fighter thief, figher mage, Mage thief or Bard)
One cleric/healer type
One Mage type
One Rogue
It is important to me that you love your character so I am willing to listen to ideas and bend rules if it makes good story.
In creating a character - you should work with 90 points over 6 attributes. No one should have more than one 18. no magic to start. I don't want to fuss to much with equipment so give me the list, be reasonable in your choices and I'll tell you if I object.
If you are single class you are 2nd level, otherwise you are 1/1. Give yourself full hit points because I give the monsters full hit points. (hehehe) For the record, I do split class as half of each die, then con. So Mage/thief at full with a +2 con would be (d6)3+(d4)2+2=7. You have had one adventure together - you cleaned out a goblin lair giving a local town some grief.
Raven - I'm open to the Gil if you woo me with a good story, which I know you can do. Don't worry about being in Drannon, figure out the why he is on the mainland.
Everyone seems willing to be flexible here so lets talk this out. I like the dashing Swordsman, The Gil/vid Warrior concepts. Aryn suggested a cidal bard, DB a cidal fighter and Merideth has not offered an opinion.
And no roleplaying of animals.

Ranger
I had a change of hearts and decided to create a Vidarak ranger instead. If accepted, I'll be using a character from an earlier Audalis game, which never really took of.

rogues everywhere.
Alright, here's my plan: I will withdraw my concept and hold onto him for a future game. I see that we have no healing types and that concerns me, I know Meri is playing a cleric in Tek's game and I wouldn't want her to have to play two so allow me to try to imagine up either a cleric or a paladin. I'll be in touch, i just need to have a streak of inspiration...

Same be true for me...
I have character concepts for any of the following:
- Human and/or Half-elf Mage or Conjurer (possibly going with my name sake)
- Cidal Bard or Fighter/ Thief (with Traveller Kit)
- Cidal Thief
So... generalist, dedicated rogue, or dedicated mage. Makes no difference to me.
I'd like to avoid a Cleric-type character, though I could probably whip up a Khord Priest of Rydor.
And I have some fighter ideas, but it looks like we got them covered.
Finally, Alacrity, if you are finding you have too many players, I am also able to step aside. I don't think I've been in one of your games before, but I have lurked a bunch of them, and really enjoyed them. Still, I am in a few games already and I'm sure there will be other opportunities.
Is Nomad D2 on your list of players yet? Nomad, you here?! I know he was looking for a game!
Anyway... peace!

is this right?
Alright just for the sake of clarity... I think this is what I see:
Two warrior types: Raven, KoD
One generalist (Fighter thief, figher mage, Mage thief or Bard): Tann (in my opinion Tann, you have both a concept and a completed character so, keep it!)
One cleric/healer type
One Mage type
One Rogue
That leaves a rogue, a mage and a cleric between Meri, Ayrn and myself. I'm not sure if Meri has expressed interest in one of these roles through pm but from the above post i see that Ayrn is willing to fill either mage or rogue. I'd be willing to do cleric or rogue, however i'm flexible and really don't mind playing mage, it just wouldn't be my first choice. As I said above, I have a rogue concept and am starting to try and think up a cleric one. Is all of this correct and do either of you (Meri and Ayrn) have a preference of what you play?
-Dragonblood
EDIT: I've PMed Ayrn, I figure instead of clogging up the recruitment we might as well have some short out of thread deliberations before we make our decisions. I'll try to have a concept to you in the next little while Al, however I can't begin character creation until this weekend. Hope all of this sounds good.

Nope...
No preference. If you want the rogue, go for it, man. Meri and I can sort out the cleric and / or mage slot.

the good, the bad and the... neutral?
I have one question. Do we have any alignment restriction? I'm guessing considering they are all in a party together there needs to be some congruity so I just wanted to find that out, particularly if I'm starting to allow some cleric ideas to percolate.
-Dragonblood
EDIT: Alright, it looks like I will be playing a Cleric of Therassor if that works for Al and everyone (unless Meri's sent in a cleric already, obviously).

How does your mana point system work again?
Thanks!
