room for more
Brianna - yes, there's room for a few more in fact!
Almerin - If you can adhere to once a week, I think we can come to an arrangement?

Venerable Prisoners
Venerable... It's relative, really.
If you review page 109 of the PHB, you obtain the values of the various racial age categories. This can be used to determine how soon your PC was imprisoned (after reaching 10th level as an adult), how long they've been imprisoned (minimum of start of Venerable Age),
An Elf, for example:
- Adulthood ~120 (Varies by starting class)
- Venerable 350
differance: 230 years imprisoned (minimum)
The prison itself is very old. The aged inmates lead a different life than other prisoners, often viewed by the guards as a non-threat. Yes, having a PC of venerable age is a severe and distinct disadvantage for warrior-types... perhaps the fountain of youth can be located?! ! Suffice to say, the feature has implications to every class.
Character Sheets: I gladly accept paper, check, or plastic... err - PM, Email, or any other manner necessary.

ok
Once a week might be doable. I'm still deliberating... but for now I'm going to take a spot, but I might drop... I might not. Hopefully I won't.
Am thinking an old fighter-rogue... though you're really stripping that kind of concept of stats with -6 on most important scores.
I don't need a maxed out character to have fun, but I'm hoping that I will be able to survive when my stats are low as a fighter and you throw some alien monster in my direction
Is it advisable to take at least some kind of level in something that can cast?

Spellcasters have it Baad!
I know the thought is that noncasters are hurt more what with a -3 age penalty to just about every roll they'd need.
The lack of equipment is far more a hindrance, as I see it. No spell components? No Spell books? No divine focus? Sure, there are ways to overcome that but the costs are rather steep. Then there are Psions. That the prison impedes psionics and magicks makes most of the above a moot point.
What awaits beyond the prison?! Only time can tell. As to alien monsters.. Do you know me from somewheres else on the net?! :o

huh
-3? I thought in your opening post you stated -6, yes?
Doesn't really matter. I'm going for some kind of warrior type, fighter, maybe ranger or paladin.
And is there a limit to classes? If Steelight is a fighter/rogue does that mean that such a combo is barred?
What are restrictions concerning alignments?

Simplified?
heh - I was over simplifying...
-6 to STR, DEX, CON yields a -3 "age penalty" or modifier, to attack rolls, melee damage, fort and reflex saves, related skill checks, hit points, etc. Make no mistake, the adjustments from being Venerable as compared to Adult (o adjustments from age), are; -6 STR, DEX, CON & +3 INT, WIS, CHA.
Barred Classes: Only the classes and prestige classes outside the states source books would be considered barred. There's no need to worry about party composition.
Alignment: I only do the normal alignment axis of LG, CG, NG, LN, CN, NN, NE, LE, CE or however it goes. Only in Ravenloft do I adjust my standpoint.
HA! I know, not what you meant. No, there are no alignment restrictions. If you find yourself at the mercy of the other players because of your deeds, well. . .

heya...
really comtempmlating if I should join or not, would a slot be left open for a day or two until I decide if I want to commit? It looks really interesting and the party looks just as fun. =)

Favorite Soul.
I am going to build something off of Favorite soul. Not sure yet about any particular PC class. There are some advantages with this class that could be useful.
MD I need to know something aobut who might have put me in here. As a NG Favorite I am having a bit of a problem coming up with why she was given life imprisonment. Unles the "Perssin responsible is tyrantical, a megalomaniac, a despot, malevolent or or any combination of the above so a litle background information of the authority that did this to all of us would be appreciated greatly.

backgrounds
Jozan1: I'll hold a slot for you.
Brianna: As a Favored Soul, you have a designated deity. Once you determine that, the enemy church is whom you have enmity and vice versa. Why you? Why imprisonment rather than death? You were heading a cell of revolutionaries in a city controlled predominantly by those under the sway of your enemy church. To kill you would've been to galvanize the forces and pit them bodily against the might of the tyranny. Or something along those lines. Once you've selected the deity, I can fill in gaps as you like.

Room for one more?
I think that I'll be in for this... Venerable games are quite interesting.
Just slightly confused though, do we actually have our wealth/equipment on us? Or was it stolen?
And for a question... If I prepare spells, but am not a Wizard, am I still able to take Spell Mastery (Prepare some spells without a spellbook) as a feat?

bah
If there's still room, I'd like to have a go. Might be the fastest game on here (the other 2 I'm in have seem to have stalled.)

eep!
Sorry Baron, I had reserved a spot and now I fear that I'm good on slots! You know me, I'll probably have something else up my sleeve once I get this setup and running.

equipment
Equipment: Wealth for PC Creation is listed as None. This doesn't mean you have no wealth, it merely represents that your present disposition as a Prisoner has made it such that you have no current personal wealth on hand. There is no need to detail whatever wealth you had in the years since you became imprisoned.
Spells: IF you have good cause for having selected the feats to cast a spell sans spell book or components, etc., then you still must overcome the prison features which inhibit the use of supernatural, spell-like, spells or powers, etc. The real answer is: Yes, you can take that feat. I'll open it to any prepared-arcane caster. Will it do you much good though?!
Of D&D Q&A Thread: I have posted the Q&A Thread relative to this game. I'll likely have an initial posting for I/C within the next week or so.
