Okay, moving along...

It looks like things are going along well - Speed, I got your character in, and most is good.

Eol and Reep, waiting to see your characters.

Katrex, if you're still there, please confirm your attendance.

Game is still on.

Activity is here, I'm just waiting on two characters, with a fourth character joining later in the game, possibly. Planned start date is Sept 1.

Is this okay?

Alright, time is ticking...

Less than a week to go and only one character in? Come on guys, you can do better than that...

Okay...

....character sheet and a bit of a background have been PMed, G. Let me know if you need anything else...

Whisper is a half-elf, ranger(5) assassin (3) specializing in archery... If G accepts the sheet, I'm sure it'll be going up on pg 1 of the QA... if not, I'll fix and then it'll go up...

Sorry for the delay.. kept "forgetting" I was supposed to be working this one and finally got around to thinking about it... You've basically got an "enigmatic sniper" in your midst, though...

Cuulness

Sorry about cutting in like this, but what's the situation of the game right now? Do you have a full crew, Gboy?

Or would you have room for another assassin? I have one character stored away in naphthlene somwhere and he might fit right in. He's an elven fighter/assassin who's specialized in daggers - dual wielding in melee and throwing. Also, he doesn't wear any armor, but trusts his incredible skill and agility instead. The only problem is that Danamar is originally a 2nd edition character and I'd need to port him into the 3.5 system. If you still have room and would have me in your game, that is.

Well Raven...

At the moment, it seems like some people have gone AWOL, and so I would gladly welcome you into the game, alongside the current players. Send me your character (in 3.5 version please) and we can get started on Sept 1st.

We'll be all good to go on Wednesday.

Nice

Whoot! Sounds great. However there's no way I can get you the sheet by tomorrow. So if you can kick off without me, I'll gladly join you guys a few days late?

Though I've played 3.5 Edition quite a lot, I haven't made a character with the rules in a long time. It'll take me a while to scan through the books and find out if an unarmed fighter is really feasible.

Also I've never really played Greyhawk personally, though I've had the 1st edition book at some point. (not sure if it still exists) So is there some book/source I could read to familiarize myself with the setting?

Alright, that's fine.

I understand entirely Raven, since you were so late at joining. You can be on the inside.

If you're going for unarmed fighting, and not choosing monk, you may want to look at the superior unarmed strike from tome of battle. It adds more damage.

And in regards to Greyhawk, there is information on the first page that you may want to familiarize yourself with.

Where I'm at...

Sorry Gboy (and company),
I know I keep saying that I'm going to get something in and I haven't yet... sorry for breaking my promises. I hope you can count on me better in the future.

I am still very interested in this game. I've scrapped the Half-Ogre idea, though, as it just wasn't coming for me.

I am currently trying to decide which path to take. I have two thoughts:

1) A beguiler. Currently, I am toying with a Changeling Beguiler 6 / Mindbender 1 / Assassin 1 with Persona Immersion, Quick Change, and Mindsight as his feats. However, this will make a character who's not really great a killing people. He can infiltrate places, and pretend to be other people, and gather information like nobody's business... but his base BAB is +3, and most of his spells are not direct damage. Gboy, would a character like this fit into the game, or would he just get in the way?

2) A more "typical" assassin. One of the following options...
-- Either Rogue 4 / Swashbuckler 3 / Assassin 1
-- Or Rogue 2 / Fighter 2 / Swashbuckler 1 / Assassin 2 / with Master Thrower 1 or Dervish 1 to finish the build.
Both builds here would be two-weapon finesse fighters, with the Master Thrower build more of a mix between melee and ranged attacks.

Option #2 makes all the characters in the party pretty similar in their abilities (i.e. similar BAB and skills), but at least the character should be able to hold his own.

Thoughts? (specifically, Gboy)

Also, another question: will the party have known each other from previous work together? Are we an already existing team? Or are we more like independent "contractors" which the NPC is looking to hire?

Thanks!
Reep

One more question...

Is it possible for my character to be excused from choosing one of the prestige classes listed in the recruitment?

If so, then the options I'm looking at are:

Changeling Beguiler 8
Changeling Rogue 2 / Beguiler 6
or Changeling Beguiler 5 / Mindbender 1 / Beguiler +2

Let me know.
