Ohh no

Lyonna grabbed Sev's shoulder, "Oh no, you're staying with me medic boy." She sighed a bit, then looked at Lance, smiling with false obdedience.

"After all, didn't the Great Overlord tell us to stay in pairs?"

Well...

Sev turns to Lyonna.

"I don't know. Did he/she? I was unconcious."

Sev looks at Quinten and Lance worriedly.

"How will they defend themselves?"

Yepp

"Quintin's security, like me. I trust him to handle himself. And yeah, Lance did say that."

She tugged him towards a closet, "C'mon. You can help me pry this open."

*smirk*

"We'll be fine Sev. But thanks for your concern."

Lance smiles a bit sarcastically.

"I'm not as helpless as you may think."

That being said, he stepped out of the ruined ship and into the weather. The cold of the outdoors struck him immediately.

If we stay out here for long with nothing more than our clothes we'll freeze to death in short order. We've gotta find a way into the ship's engineering level.
He took off at a trot, hoping the activity would help to keep him warm for the short time (hopefully) they remained exposed to the elements. They (assumption) move quickly along the side of the crashed ship, searching for another of the escape hatches, or a section of ruined hull to enter.

A few minutes later, already partially covered by a bit of ice and snow an entrance presents itself. Lance looks around, trying to get his bearings based on the external hull.

"I think this might be another section of the crew quarters. Not ideal, but we can't stay out here too much longer. Maybe we can find a way from there to the medical bay or the engineering levels."

With cold and stiff fingers he goes to work on the keypad locking mechanism. Being one of the principal designers of the ship he remembered most of the access codes to any secured area... but the door wouldn't open.

"Hey, Quinten. The access code isn't working. You don't happen to have any manner of gear that could help us pry open the door do you?"

into the cold...

Quintin's thoughts were racing as he followed Lance out of the door and into the biting cold.

how could that guy think a security member couldn't take care of himself, and ...well I guess you would have to know Shadow to realize what he is capable of. but wow Lyonna complemented me... sort of ... i never got the impression she liked me much.
As they were making their way along the side of the wrecked ship Quintin strikes up some conversation. "You know it's been so long since I called you by your real name I almost forgot what it was. I'd still prefer to call you Shadow."

"Can you believe that medic though? Not thinking we could defend ourselves. If only he knew more about us. I suppose he will get that chance soon though."

As he was talking they came across a door and Lance tried to enter the access codes to open it.
"Hey, Quintin. The access code isn't working. You don't happen to have any manner of gear that could help us pry open the door do you?"
"I wish I had some gear. I didn't get to grab any of my stuff before the crash. I'd love to make it back to my room to get my gear if we can. I'm also hoping we may find some other crew members that Lyonna may have missed."

Quintin's brain was working quickly through possible ways to open the door. "I think I saw a broken steel beam in the snow a little ways back. Maybe with a rock and some leverage we can pry the door open. Other than that all we got is the gun Lyonna tossed us, though I don't think it'll do much good opening the door."

Lyonna and Seira

Lyonna nodded and braced herself, "Yeah, c'mon."
---
Seira shivered, but by now she was becoming oblivious to the cold. Every few minutes, she thought she heard someone talking, but that may have just been her imagination...

"Hey Quintin..."
Her head bolted up; Please....
"I-is somebody out there?!"

Muffled words

"Yeah, that should work. Where was that beam?"

They both back track a bit to find a slightly bent 4' long piece of reinforced steel. After a few moments of lugging the thing they return to the door.

Using a large chunk of ice as a fulcrum they slam the steel beam into the door and position it as they need.

"Alright, I'll put in the code again so if there is any remaining air pressure in the system it will assist. In this weather the door is likely just frozen, and the system doesn't have enough force to open it."

He stands at the key pad for a moment, fiddling.

"Alright here we go. Ready?"

He punches in the last few digits of the code as Quinten puts all of his weight down on the steel beam. For a moment there is nothing except a slight groan... then all at once the door gives way, flying to the side and opening with enough force to shake a small section of the hull. Quinten is thrown to the ground as the door gives way and Lance only barely manages to avoid being cracked in the head by a flying steel beam as he throws himself to the snow covered ground.

"Well, that didn't work as well as I'd hoped, but at least we got it open."

an opening

"Yeah that could have gone smoother. At least it worked and we didn't get injured."

Quintin picked himself up off the ground with a hand from Lance. Moving through the doorway they both started searching the area. "I know it's a mess in here, but can you tell what part of the ship we are in?"

Moving along the wreckage, Quintin looked for other survivors and any thing useful. Then a thought struck him...right before the door opened I heard ..maybe..
"I think there may be a survivor in here somewhere. I swear I heard a faint voice right before the door popped open. Did you hear anything?"

Quintin searched more diligently. He made sure not to move anything too quickly or too far. If there were any survivors he didn't want to injure them further. He also hoped he would be able to get to his room and get some of his equipment if any of it survived.

Trapped

Seira tried moving again, and cried out in pain; she was definitley trapped beneath something. She turned as far as she could to look back and her stomach dropped.

One of the doors to an entryway had fallen, and was pinning her from her waist down. Everytime she moved, pain flew up her legs.

A-at least my back isn't broken...
She tried leaning to move it, but that just cause a sharper pain. Seira gulped and looked around her. "Somebody help me!"

Cabinet

Sev went to the cabinet with Lyonna. He looked at the lock on it and thought of how primitive it was. He wedged his knife between the double doors of the cabinet and pulled to the side as far as he could and put his foot on the left side of the door.

"Ok, I need you to kick the door now."

My kinda thing

Lyonna smirked and put her weight down solidly on her right foot, "Can do."

She kicked the door, hard, using it to release some of her pent-up anger.

Well that was uncalled for.

In a calm voice Teryn says "I thank you for freeing me, but the kick was not needed friends, maybe just a pull. It seems I was trapped in here when the ship went down. Would one of you mind telling what is going on?"

Freak out!

When the door opened Sev jumped to see someone was inside.

"How the hell? Never mind. The ship crashlanded and the captain is dead. Everyone has to survive for themselves we're trying to find supplies to survive out in the harsh climate. We need you to help us. What are you trained in?"

the silence is broken

Quintin and Lance were searching everywhere. They were looking for anything remotely usable. The search so far was not going well. They hadn't made it to any of the living quarters yet and the corridors were mostly bare of supplies. Still they kept searching.

At first there was a lot of noise. The creaking of steel beams and ship infrastructure. A howling icy wind just outside pushing to make it's way in. The buzz, pop, sizzle of broken electrical conduit. In one area Quintin could hear the muffled wail of a broken alarm siren. The sounds of the two men searching for something, anything. Soon the sounds faded as they grew accustomed to them. Then there it was, a strangled voice. "Somebody help me!" It wasn't as quiet as the first time he thought he had heard it. This time he was sure.

"Shadow, did you here that? It sounded like a girl. Someone else is alive in here. We need to help her."

Quintin and Lance had come to a cross corridor. This was the start of the living quarters. Quintin tried to listen again for the girl. He couldn't quite pinpoint where the voice came from. He needed to know where to start looking.

"We'll split up, you take the right corridor, and I'll take the left. If one of us finds her just yell."

With that said Quintin headed down the left corridor. Trying to get the person to talk he started shouting out.
"Hey, whoever is out there. We are here to help. You need to keep talking so we can find you. Please!"
