Not yet :(
Which is very sad. Of course I still won't be able to watch them until Monday because I need to sleep Sunday nights... but still.
I do agree though... the casting thus far has been great. Can't wait to see who they get for the rest of the campers (especially Carol) next week. I know the girl who plays Andrea was recently in King's The Mist and did a great job there so I know she'll do great with Andrea.
Such delightfully complex characters Kirkman created.
I think that is part of the charm of zombie stories though... it is not the zombies that make it interesting, generally they are pretty boring 'monsters' all things considered, but how the human's react to them and then to each other.

Ditto
Ever since Romero, good Zombie media is about the survivors.
Although "Bub" from "Day of the Dead" was a little interesting early take on possible Zombo Rehab.

Heh
Watched it last night, and I was truly entertained. The hospital scene we've seen before, but Danny Boyle lingered a lot longer on the strangeness of the void situation, where The Walking Dead went straight into fright. A good choice.
Jeffrey Demunn is a Darabont veteran. One should be surprised if he WASN'T in a Darabont production, hehe. But yeah, he's great.
I just read that Darabont is not directing the other episodes, btw. That's too bad. I hope we won't get a too different feeling when the show continues.
Anyway, I'll be watching this next week!

Yes...
The hospital scene has been done before... but my husband was pleased to note that AMC at least believed in shorts...

Last night's ep
"Ranger Rick took that axe
and gave that deadite 40 whacks.
And when he saw just what he'd done,
He turned and gave it 41 (more)!"
Where have I seen that tactic used before. . .House of the Dead 2, I think. Still makes sense, though. (Yes, I've seen that movie. Shoot, I own the first one on dvd.)
I do want to go on the record as being a bit offended at the use of the term "geek" in the show. Catchy, but inappropriate.

Not at all...
...what I was expecting.
That about sums up my thoughts on last night's episode, I think.
Was very surprised that it was more than just Glenn who met up with Rick and the "sequence of events" that followed. While ep 1 was about as close to the comic as it could likely get, ep 2 went about as 'round about' with the 'timeline' as it possibly could have, I think... Not that it's a bad thing, mind you... I don't think I really want the series to be an exact mirror of the comic upon which it's based, after all... just found it a little strange in spots, is all.
Much more character development and whatnot going on in the series as opposed to the 'similar timeframe' in the comic (which is a plus) but, at the same time, I'm thinking that maybe they're trying to move just a wee bit too far, too fast with some things... *shrugs*... we'll see.
Still a good episode and am looking forward to see where it goes next week...
I hate Shane already...

Well I haven't seen it yet...
Tonight though I will.
But... seriously Eol... did you have warm fuzzy feelings about Shane going into the series after reading the graphic novel (it seems weird calling them 'comics')?
ohhh... and p.s. Rick might have done swung an axe 40 times... but I promise you Lizzie didn't

LOL
No... I didn't have any sort of warm fuzzies about Shane from the get go, this is true... I just didn't expect that they'd make him so immediately unlikeable in the series, to be honest... I figured, at least, they'd give us an nip or two of 'sympatico' for the guy, at first, and then let things 'spiral downward' for him after a few episodes but, from the very first time I saw the character on screen I just thought; "Jeez! What a yutz!"
I know where they're going with it, I just think they're making it just a little too obvious, I guess.

Humph LOL
Seeing as how I have never read these graphic comics you both speak of and only know The Walking Dead from the past two episodes I have now seen I think its awesome. As I am normally not a big fan of horror I must say I am hooked on this show and am 100% glad I have not read the comic's as each episode is new too me so there!!
I just can't wait to see what happens when Rick finds out about his Wife and old partner sleeping together should be a blast .

Hmmm...
I should find out what my husband thinks of Shane as he hasn't read the books, so he'd have a more unbiased opinion.
Of course he's already quoted the schmuck (Shane, not my husband) once this week... caught me leaving the kitchen light on... So maybe I don't really want to know what his opinion of Shane is in the long run. Ignorance is bliss as they say.

By your above statements that means he is really not a good guy in that sense hmmm so I guess the Redneck on the roof is toast huh then .
Gonna be a fight with his brother back at camp for sure going off of the preview of the next episode.
