Coria... no D indeed... well, there are two Ds in deed actually
Jozan, you're absolutely right. Coria it is.
Takley, if you really want in then you are in. Like I said, the decision is yours, and if you think you're up to it, than I'd very much like to see how you fare.
On the length of posting, I don't keep any guidelines to the number of paragraphs or wordcount. What you should keep in mind is that we need a bit more than a single line reply. If your character only has a single line to say, include some 'fluff' about how your character is feeling at the moment, or drop some hint about what drives your character. Make it more interesting to read. That way, your character not only lives the adventure, but also evolves in them. They come alive for other players.
Ok, let's have a count, shall we? So far we have:
Jozan as a Khord Fighter
Ayrn as a Cidal Druid
Chessic as a rogue
Takley as a ranger (as Chessic already mentioned interest in a rogue?)
Admiral as a ?
Slenderninja as a ?
That gives us 6 players. That means that unless somebody cancels, we'll have to disappoint Loki for now. Is it ok to put you in a reserve slot?
I'm going to need some character sheets before we can begin. I'm in no real hurry, but I don't want to have all this recruitment to drag on too long. So, I'll expect sheets in by Saturday. How's that?

humph :( (LOL Joking)
No worries Almerin. I wasn't incredibly quick at spotting this recruitment, I'll write up a character anyways though.

I'll get a good description and history in by then, I also have a picture for my character picked out but I wanna figure out how I can resize it/ link it without the pic itself being a link back to photobucket.

About the village...
Almerin,
Will the village we start off in be kind of a permanent home-base throughout this and most of the other adventures? Or will the party become more of a travelling band of monster hunters, moving from town to town, helping people rid themselves of baddies?
The reason I ask is because, initially, I was thinking of a character who was deeply tied to the community.
Anyway, let me know what you're thinking.
Thanks!
Ayrn

yep
I don't have the details yet (Thursday is my day off this week but I'll be daydreaming about it until then) but I'm shooting for some kind of mage or arcane caster.

We'll be starting in the village of Stone's Hollow, seen on the map of Coria.
I guess we'll have to see what happens from there. It is up to you (as a group) to decide if you want to stay in Stone's Hollow, as a base of operations, or maintain a traveling life. There is little doubt, however, that adventures will take you beyond the Stone's Hollow area.

books
Which books do you have? Complete Arcane? Complete Mage? Heroes of Horror (my personal fav) or any other completes?
I have a couple concepts in mind but they all use different books.

eh
I think I've decided against the arcane character. Audalis being a low-magic world it just doesn't make sense in the context of the campaign.
Back to the drawing board. I'll come up with something good.

Huh, I didn't realize Audalis was low magic, especially with the whole "tides of magic" thing it had. Where does it explain the low magic stuff?

well
Audalis is low on magic in that sense that mages aren't all that common. Magical items are pretty rare and high level casters don't walk the earth as much as they do in other campaigns.
So, there is magic, but it works, like you said, with tides. Sometimes the force is strong, sometimes it's weaker. Darth would be pissed.
As for books, I do have the heroes of horror somewhere, though I can't remember what's in it exactly. Give me a proposition, and I'll consider it. I'm sure the concept you come up with will be awesome.
I haven't heard anything from Chessic or Slenderninja. I'm going to PM them to see if they still want in.

here
This is from the Intro to Audalis:
Audalis is what I consider to be a 'realistic' fantasy world... i.e., while various fantasy races and creatures populate the world, and magic does exist, there are limits. While in a normal human city, you may see an syl or two, or a khord here or there. You won't usually see them abundantly, though. Outside of human lands is another story... Magic is uncommon, and special. Certainly, mages and clerics exist, but magic is viewed with awe and a little fear by the general populace. Magical items are fairly rare; they must be earned, and they are valuable (unlike some campaigns, where a fourth level character has more magical junk than they can carry). The scarcity of magical items is due largely to the fact that spellcasters must be quite powerful to enchant items; even more so to make them permanent. Therefore, most magical items are usually fairly old and hard to come by.
Magical healing is viewed as miraclulous. Most NPC priests do not have spells, or have few. Death is usually final. You won't find a healer in every town.
