Nakal Dragon

Found in the Darkenfold and Eld Wood Forests.

Rather small up to 12 feet in length standing more like a bird than a lizard. Small arms and thick legs with enormous feet with claws and they have a ridge of spines and a long narrow tail with a bulb on the end of the tail with barbs.

Wide snouts with a beak that tears flesh and armor with its sharp teeth. The barbs on the tail are poisonous.

They are territorial within 15 square miles and mark their territory by dragging their sides against large trees ... but Nakal Dragons do migrate for better hunting or when males seek a female mate.

They cast a Fly Spell on themselves and can fly from 100 to 120 feet at a time.

Nakal are hunted for sport and for the toxins that can be sold on the open market.

Alignment is Neutral.

Lial Beast (Feathered Dragon)

Feathered Dragons are rare and are not uncommon in the Gelderland and Gnob Wood where they have been driven from their formerly preferred open country by hunters who prize their scales.

A single scale can bring up to 15 Gold Coins on the open market and can be fashioned into crafting armor or weapons.

They are beautiful creatures of multi colors with no apparent pattern to their markings and do not blend into their surroundings ... making their numbers rare.

Feathered Dragons have some Illusionist abilities and do fly out of the forests to steal cattle and sometimes humanoids for food.

Wing span is 30 feet and have scales on the snout and neck that are long and pointed like spears.

Their bodies are squat and short and they walk on 2 or 4 legs (front legs noticeably shorter) and they can rend flesh with their claws and teeth.

They will breathe a cloud of clear gas that becomes a liquid leaving a red stain that begins to burn through skin and armor.

The only way to neutralize the poison is with a Neutralize or Delay Poison Spell or by jumping into a creek, river, pond or well ... but merely washing the poison from a water flask will not remove the poison.

Alignment is Chaotic

Tagean Wyrm (Leaf Tailed Dragon)

Leaf Tailed Dragons are water dragons that frequently migrate to the Bay of Imboden as they seek nesting grounds on land from their journeys in The Amber Sea.

They are highly revered and worshipped on the islands of the Tagea Sea to the East of the Gelderland.

They have been known to frequently migrate and come on land in the Gnob Wood to hunt and to nest and secrete themselves with a thick residue to coat their scaly hides that hardens and becomes an unbreakable shell.

Some forest folk seek out these hardened secretions that are left on tree limbs that are harvested, shaped and honed to make battle spears.

These dragons can speak limited Common and live peaceably with Humans and Elves unless provoked.

They will offer assistance for Food if they trust those who seek them out and they breathe a cloud of thick gaseous material that obscures any but magical vision so they can escape unseen.

Their magic can Heat Metal or help them to cast Water Breathing on themselves.

Length ranges from up to 30 feet including its tail (always half its body length and shaped like a broad leaf).

When forced to fight (or when hunting) the Leaf Tailed Dragon will rend with its claws and teeth and secretes an acid while they hold their prey down with their hind legs.

They are light blue or green in color and have short thick necks. There is a single scale on their underbelly that can be as large as 3 feet in diameter and the scale is sought by forest folk to serve as a small lightweight and indestructible shield.

Alignment is Neutral Good

Other Info Possibly Needed for Character Backgrounds

The above mentioned Dragons are the only known Dragons that have been seen and reported by various adventurers who have found their way to The Twisted Blade.

Rextugenous is both a Curiosity and an Oddity as no one has ventured any further north up the river than an imaginary line between the city of Chinon and Castle Eike in the Gnob Wood ... and none other than Rextugenous and the Undead Leather Coats have ever ventured south from far north upriver to the waterfront city of Sherrill.

So the ballads of the Bard are a drawing card for the patrons of The Twisted Blade and provide Rex with plenty of coin to provide his lodging at The Twisted Blade.

There are plenty of Orcs, Goblins and bandits and other such vermin to draw from in your back stories ... but no other Dragons are known to the inhabitants from where your character has journeyed thus far!

This should give Players enough information to develop a suitable background and I will Email a Map to everyone who joins this adventure to help give you a visual of the possibilities from whence to draw your writing inspiration!

Now Only 4 Openings

There are now only 4 openings as Raven has claimed the Ranger/Druid.

We definitely need a Dwarf Cleric/Fighter

Dwarf Cleric/Fighter

Gnome Rogue/Assassin

***Wood (Gray) Elf Druid/Ranger*** played by Raven

Half Elf Knight/Illusionist

Half Orc Barbarian/Monk

If anyone has a different multi-class character concept just PM me and I will consider your choice in place of mine!

Note from the Castle Keeper
Looks like it may take longer than this weekend for me to complete the Intro to this adventure due to the time it took to write the previous posts in the Recruitment Thread and a whole lot more substance needs to be included in the writing of the opening post (plus some Real Life matters that need attending to on Saturday and Sunday!)

Way things are going ...

..... it is going to take me a few extra days to get the Intro typed up!

Still plenty of time for interested players to post their participation here and begin creating a character history!

Making some progress ...

..... but am making sure the quality of the Intro Post sets the tone for the adventure and gives prospective players better insight as to whether or not they want to participate in this adventure?

Hopefully I will have it completed sometime on Saturday so folks at the Inn can take a look, get inspired to create a character with history and commit to playing!

Still interested!

The plan was to get a background for the character done before the weekend, but it's looking tight right now as I'm playing a single dad until Friday.

No Problem Raven

We will just proceed as best we can and hopefully some other InnMates will decide to join the party of Avengers!

I realize the importance of getting the Intro posted so others can get a grasp of what is being developed for this Epic Adventure!

At some point I will provide Raven with some info on Rangers and Druids from the Castles & Crusades handbook.

Just take your time Raven and I will take the necessary time to develop the Intro post for this adventure.

Considerations and Game

Greetings InnMates

After much deliberation I have come to the following conclusions regarding this proposed adventure:

1. If Raven is the only player besides the Rextugenous character that I will be playing ... then we will begin the adventure with just the 2 of us playing!

2. The previous character choices are Not set in stone and if anyone wants to play a different combination of classes then you are free to do so!

I am working on the Intro and will probably post either all or a portion of the Intro in the next couple of days!

Whew!

You got me scared there for a moment. I was sure I'd be reading something like: "Since there's no more interest, I'm calling this game dead before it started." Whew!

So that's not happening, at least not now. Excellent. Seems like an nice system and very, very interesting world too.

So come on people! Take two steps forward and join us on this epic journey into Airhde - world of magic and mayhem. Don't be intimidated by the rules or the world. We'll learn along the way, together. The System is quite familiar - very, very much like the DnD you're used to.

Friday will ...

..... probably be the day I post the Intro (need to let what I just finished writing set for a few hours before I revisit the composition and tweak it a bit more!)

Plus the QnA will also have to be posted ... so I will get things in order to get this adventure underway ... no matter how small the group may be!

Interest is perked.

I've been lurking for a while now, though I am interested.
Honestly, I expected a bigger turn out.

Busy with school work until late tomorrow, though I may be able to check in earlier.

If you'll have me, and don't mind me coming in ~late I'll happily join the adventure.

Need time to look over the notes you've posted though, as I'm torn between character ideas.

-T_O

Edit: I do enjoy being the cleric, aha, since the need is so obvious... I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Tuned In LOL

There is plenty of room for Tuned_Out to "Tune In" and be a part of this adventure!

Cleric is Greatly Needed and if you prefer to make a multi-class character with Cleric and another class I am open to what you would enjoy playing!

There are some extra spells for a Dwarf Cleric which is why I have the Dwarf listed as Cleric/Fighter.

Anyone else interested just post here!

Intro Part One is Posted

Leather Coats Avengers Intro Post Part One has been posted as has the LC Avengers QnA.

I have to work on the Intro Part Two before anyone will be added to the privatized section of the Game (allowing only the Players to Post and Not Allowing the Lurkers to Post in the Game Thread)

The Part Two Intro will cover the course of 7 days which will give you more insight into the character of Rextugenous as on the night of the 12th he will announce he is heading back up north to Avenge the Leather Coats who he had to behead and burn to set their souls at rest.

There is a bit of a twist that is integral to the character of Rextugenous and lets players know a bit more of what they are in for in the future companying with him!

For now you will be able to post in this section until I am ready to open the Leather Coats Avengers thread to participating players!
