Fangs
I second the idea of Vampires/ Supernatural... I haven't played "Vampire" in forever. The Idea of a post apocalyptic story is interesting.

westeros
This topic has been quite for a wile so I'm going to suggest a game set in Westeros, an all human and no magic style game where our characters have to use their wits and smarts to survive.
EDIT: Done some looking arround. There are RPGs based on the A Song of Ice and Fire book series and the A Game of Thrones book.
EDIT 2: Yes, I have suggested this because of the Winter is Coming comic. I read the comic, then re-watched Game of Thrones, and am now trying to get a Game of Thrones game running.

hmmm
i do like a good plot. and zombies are fun, i just took an olnine quiz about how much of a chance id survive an zombie apocolypse 95% chance of survival. BUT we dont have to worry about that because everyone has atleast ONE zombie friend (weather they know it or not). speaking of friends quite a few of my friends are human, but not all of them are human.......
*Ahem*
anyway, my game choices would be something modern-ish but in a fantasy setting, post apocolyptia, or star trek (one word "whales")

/__\\ is it truly wisdom or just insanity

Original characters are awesome!
Idea:An OC horror/survival game, where the only limit, is the size of the enviorment, the characters can be anything the player wants, though they can't have powers that can let them leave automatically. It will be held in a HUGE house, and let me put more emphasis on HUGE! It will be like, 2 mile by 2 mile by 10 stories big mansion. And for each story, there will be a different type of monster. Main goal of the RP:
Survive.
Types of Monsters:
1.Vampires
2.Ghosts
3.Werewolves
4.Fairies(these may not seem bad...but so help me god, their magic can literally change your life)
5.Demons(only in basement)
6.Witches(only one witch, and at the top floor)
7.Evil Genies(basically: Ghosts+Demons+Fairies=this)
8.Bats
9.Majora(yes, I pulled that out of Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, so what)
10.Zombies
Species for players:All species from all games and shows and so on...

more ideas
Riaucard ~ *high five* whales.
Loving the ideas flowing around guys. Your 'OC' comment that you made Pyro made me think of something...
What would you think about playing yourselves? Using a number of points and putting them into your actual strengths and skills, and running a Player campaign?
Yay? Nay?

I vote YAY
however if i played as myself it would be quite unfair, for it seems i am wired for only one thing SURVIVAL. my natural ability to adapt to any situation is almost unnatural. usual tactic: seem meek and shy until a group of peopl takes to you then mimic that group with only slight variations as to seem realistic or if engaged in combat they will be surprised when you kick their @$%. outside of civilization id thrive just as well. im better against groups than 1v1. prefered wepondry: bows, guns, shorter bladed weapons (ie shortswords knives), unarmed (i have my own fighting technique that works, basicly i slide foward when attacking so as to knock over my oppenent and prevent retaliation). heck id kill without remorse if it ever came to it. im generally passive and try not to draw attention to myself however, because the best way to win a fight is to never get into one.
why im saying all of this i have absolutly no idea, but i think its because im less antisocial than i was last year or possible insanity due to my conflicting lifestyles.
the worst group ive ever shadowed would have to be a group of emo wannabes.

Wait...
...do you mean the alter ego, so me being Pyroboom, the lava boy. Or me being me, a normal gamer who makes possibly the weirdest thoughts on the planet.

darn
that means i have a third persona now.
i mean i have a me i let others see
a me for my family and most trusted friends
and just so recently noticed a me that is used as an outlet for all of my crazy.
heh i probably shouldnt even consider myself human, all i really am is just a shadow. copying others, hiding myself from something only the great Powers know, waiting.... watching..... wondering what it is im hunting for. Just a shadow, perhaps to be something more...... always wondering what im missing from myself......
im so depressing sometimes but that is what truth can be

what I am getting at
I mean playing yourselves. If that means that you've got an unnatural skill in survival, then you put points into it. (I would have to decide on a system. I'll get back to you on that later). If that means that you are a normal gamer who has the weirdest thoughts in the planet, then we can flesh out your skills accordingly!
For example: If I were to evaluate myself honestly and put it into stats (again, haven’t decided on a system, so we’ll just go with a 3.5 perspective) I, Celeste, would have:
Str 10
Con 12
Dex 17
Wis 15
Int 13
Cha 11
I would have skills in leatherworking (because it’s honestly my profession), swimming, horse riding (but it would be low, because it’s been a while since I’ve saddled anything), and some survival. I’m also trained as a fencer, but not professionally, so my ability to hit with a rapier would be good, but not astronomical. I can’t shoot a bow to save my life, or throw anything really, and I’m afraid of heights (which would give me some serious penalties to things like being on a window ledge. Mmmm… Matrix much?).
I’ve got a homebrew system in mind that allows for the creation of pretty much ANYTHING, so you wouldn’t be restricted to a D&D mindset. Still up in the air about systems, but does this help in making my suggestion a little bit more clear?

Me
So, using that, I think it's a good idea...but...really, I would rather be my avatar because, to be the actual me, I would suck in everything but strength and intelligence...though I'm not too strong, and I can act pretty dumb at times...any other professions in the game, if astronomy is one of them, then I'm definitely in, so really, all I need to remember are those other stats, though you say you haven't made a system yet, I still believe it would be a good idea.
