Huzzah!

Nice to have you on board King Rat.

I now have two players! Might I have a third? And a fourth, a fifth?

Can I Join?

Could I join please? I must say I'm very interested in your pathfinder game. If I can join could I be a cavalier of fighter?

More the Merrier.

I'd be glad to have you. A cavalier or fighter would work well. All in all that would leave us with an inquisitor, a ranger, and a cavalier/fighter. This means it would be very good to have a skilled rogue, and a specialized healer. Perhaps a bit more magic to complement it all too?

Check your PM

Philosopher... just sent you a PM. Not sure if I can play yet as I'm trying to start my own SW game. But if that doesn't get off the ground, I might be down for this.

OR...

A Bard could fill the skill role, add a splash of arcane magic, and even do some light healing. Not to mention the party buffs one would bring to the table. Just saying...

Im In

Never played path finder, dont know the exact rules, but i would like to play. Figure i could be a rogue, Likely assassin. But if an assassin isn't quite acceptable, I'll stick with thief.

You can do, I can help. :)

A rogue with the ability to dispatch his opponents with stealth and efficiency should be easy enough to build.

The only real question (mechanics-wise) would be whether you want to be the type of assassin who gets up close and personal (likely with two blades) or the sniper-type who shoots arrows from a close distance. The character would probably be known more acceptably as a "findsman" or "bounty hunter".

The simple build for either ranged or up-close is similar to 3.5 builds.

Great stuff!

Looks like we're well on our way to getting this shindig started. I'll be working on some more background, get to answering any questions, looking over character sheets, helping out with backstories and such, after work. Haha. But for now I'm just happy to be getting back into it.

Sneaky Salvator

A stealthy rogue with a tendency towards killing is great. And we may be able to work towards some form of assassins training. If I recall the usual assassins guild is evil in nature, but I'll think on it. Besides, the rogue class in pathfinder is still well and above the parameters one desires from a Bourne killer.

Well, you see...

First off, my response to the weapon-type:
Primary; Duel curved daggers
http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr331/palmerproperties/100_4377.jpg
Secondary; Short scimitar
http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/gg387/silvertoothray/Scimitar.jpg
Definately up close and personal.

As for the alignment, I am thinking along the lines of someone with a natural tendancy to kill, as it is the only thing that makes him feel truely fulfilled. However, he DOES have a pull towards good, and figures that if he kills in the name of 'good', he can't really be faulted in the afterlife. Better to kill for a king than for coin.
(Chaotic good/evil tendancies)
Obviously the other PCs would have issues with me, but understand that though I'm a bit sadistic, I am also 100% loyal, uncorruptable (As material means little to me)And inargueably efficient at what I do.
Lemme know what you think.

Salvator,

I don't think my character would have any problems with your rogue and his, shall we say, blood lust. He is after all an Inquisitor worshipping the God of War, and as such is Neutral himself. He finds his purpose on the battle field, charging through and possibly burning through ranks upon ranks of enemies.

With War's (I can't remember the God's name off the top of my head) impartial views and tendency to favor the underdog I feel that even as a Divine caster style character my Ifrit would lean more toward siding with the highest bidder, because war does not care who wins, loses, or dies at the end of the day, war is a messy business..

Your rogue may kill in the name of Good, mine kills in the name of his God; and this long war has made for a lot of opportunity to serve his deity's will.

Hehe

I like the way you think Shield Wolf.
I added a little bit about the Marakobi Badlands into the history, give you a little more to go on about your people. I'll try and expand the map so that people have a broader sense of where they are in the world and how they fit in. King Rats made me have to do some thinking. Haha.

The opening of Fallout 3 says it all...

"War never changes."

As I imagine it, the tenets of the religion of War would say something along the lines of, "Death is an expected outcome, and a natural part of the progression of the world around us. There can be no war without death."

I may be way off base with this, but it's the way my character will likely view the world anyway because as an Inquisitor he has more freedom to go against the usual tenets of the religion if he feels it serves the higher will of his God. That said, I could easily see him striking up a deep fellowship (not a friendship mind you) with a worshipper of the Goddess of Darkness.

Salvator Navaar: Suggestions for your Rogue build...

Salvator,

I think the Two-Weapon Fighting Rogue build looks like what you are after.

A couple of things to think through as you build the character.

1) Race: Human or Half-Elf. The Human gives you an extra skill rank each level and a bonus feat that you can use for anything you meet the prerequisites for at level 1. The Half-Elf give you immunity to Sleep spells, +2 save vs Enchantment, +2 bonus to Perception, Low-Light vision, and Skill Focus in any skill you like (Disable Device, Perception, or Stealth come to mind). The Half-Elf also lets you have two Favored Classes (likely Fighter for your build)

2) Stat Priority: The 2-Weapon Rogue Fighter is based mostly on Weapon Finesse and Sneak Attack damage, so Dexterity is your highest priority. After that, Constitution is important because you need to boost up your mediocre hit points because you'll be spending alot of time in toe-to-toe combat (two-weapon fighting requires you to spend a full-round action). Constitution also boosts your low Fort save. Wisdom is third priority, as it boosts your low Will save and your Perception skill (likely the most important skill in the game). After that, it's good to have at least a 10 in Strength (so that you don't get a penalty to damage). If you want skills, Int is good. Charisma is likely your dump stat, unless you want to be a social butterfly.

3) Weapon Choice: Your first picture of the twin blades looks like they would be equivilant to Short Swords, which is probably the "best" finessable two-weapon. The other possibility is to choose Daggers. While Daggers do slightly less damage than Short Swords (1d4 compared to 1d6), Daggers can be thrown. While it's fine to use both (say, Sword Shorts for melee and Daggers for ranged attacks), if you focus on Daggers your Weapon Focus feat will apply to be melee and ranged attacks.

4) Feats and Rogue Talents: For your early levels, you're pretty much focused on getting your feats for the 2-weapon fighting build (probably until atleast level 6+).

5) Skills: Acrobatics, Disable Device, Perception and Stealth are must haves. After that, Sense Motive and Sleight of Hand are good too. After that... well, depend on your character concept. A rank in Climb, Escape Artist and Swim doesn't hurt. Linguistics and/or Disguise, perhaps? (I'd take Linguistics over Disguise) Bluff and/or Diplomacy, maybe? (your CHA is likely your dump stat, so you likely won't be awesome in these areas)

6) Equipment: Masterwork Weapons (or maybe one of your weapons being +1), Mitral Chain or Chain Shirt +1, Cloak of Resistance +1 if you can afford it. If you want to shoot a bow instead of throwing daggers, the nice thing with arrows is you can buy a various magical ones for a lesser cost.

7) Tactics: Because Sneak Attack is your main source of damage, either you need to either be unseen (Greater Invisible) or you need to partner with one of the Fighter-type and flank, flank, flank.
