As for us knowing or not knowing each other there are good/bad points both ways. However I go with us knowing each other or at least some of us do.

Like Ody and I coming in as friends makes sense as he is a Druid and I'm a Ranger both of us nature types.

Make Sure you all Read the Opening Post in this QnA, because it gives you a little insight as to the background of the Region of Aachen and the World of Aihrde as it pertains to This Particular Adventure!

Especially Note the names of the cities and View the Map of Aihrde that I have sent to you via Email, so you can visualize the area better and have a more accurate reference as you write your Background Stories!

Your Character Has Not Been Outside the Region of Aachen At Any Time Prior To This Adventure!
Reading the QnA Post and Viewing the Map should also give you a better idea as to whether or not your character will know any of the other characters prior to this adventure!

You say that our characters Have not been outside the region of Aachen at any time prior to this adventure so do we need to pick where we come from within that region?

All our characters being 1st level and just starting out, it would seem unlikely many of them would know each other unless they are from the same town/city. But then I guess it would be up to each of us with consent from the Castle Keeper of course.

As for my character, I think with his background and profession it would be a stretch that he would know any of the other characters. Besides, I like the idea of learning about each other through Rping.


Tann - In the Recruitment thread Hammer says, “Your Character Originates in an area no further north of Heristat than to the Detmold Forest, no further west than to the coast of the Sea of Shenal, no further east than the Voralberg Mountains and no further south than the City of Eluythus.” According to the map, that area is the Aachen area so our characters were born here and have never left here, yet.

I'm assuming no one knows Vincent, unless anyone has an idea on how we could have met. (Vincent is from Eluythus) As for places to go an treasure hunt, may I suggest the ruins located along the Broken Fingers of the Inner Sea?

Since you all are just starting out I have to take a close look at the equipment, weapons you have PMed me so I can decide what you get to have for starters!

We have a vote for the Ruins near the Broken Fingers of the Inner Sea!

If we are getting 50gp right off the bat, why cant you just say 'This is what you had to start with, the rest will cost you ____gp with your starting money' ?

Also, I also had put the Ruins at Broken fingers on my short list of places, so make that two votes for it.

..... that because your characters are just 1st level and new to adventuring, there would probably be some family or personal debts that would motivate your character to join!

Also, since you have to bring the Treasure and Info back to Mad Dog Muldoon to receive your payment on Treasure, opening some type of account would start a 'nest egg' for your character to buy land, build a home, have funds laid up to get married and start a family etc.

You will all board the ship with 0 Gold, so if that means you gambled away the money or drank it away, or gave it away or paid debts or started a savings ... well ... that is all part of what you will be posting when the Game Thread is open in a few days!
