agreed

Even though I do post to those silly games from time to time, I'll agree with both Eol and Captain Smite Magnet.

I've always thought that people who brag about post counts - and really mean it - are being a bit silly.

hee hee

I have over 3000!!
Just kidding...(but i doooo) kidding again.

Yes, I will be the first to blatantly brag about my high post count but of course we all know it's mainly (if not all) due to the "fluffy' games forum. Bless the Games forum

Anyhoo, I post a lot there cuz it takes far less time to interact with Innmates in that way than it does to come up with a 'real' post in one of the RP forums. I'm not only busy, I'm lazy as well. Sooooo please don't get rid of the games forums Olan

post-count

Having built up a 12,000+ post-count on another forum without indulging in that sort of thing, I was kind of proud of it. Spending years on a forum and actually holding it to relevant discussion is no small accomplishment, let me tell you.

whaaa?

Who said anythign about getting rid of them? I enjoy the light silliness. They are there because folks like them.

Now, it is entirely possible that, from time to time, a thread or five might get pruned from them (especially if said thread has lain fallow for some time).

If that happens, members will see their post counts drop. *shrug* Such is the transient nature of life and message boards.

Games

Now, I indulge in games from time to time - "What's your favorite [insert category]" or "Say something niceabout the previous poster" type threads are basically party games That help you get to know the other people around and let you interact in a light, but meaningful way. If someone made a "3-word story" thread that actually managed to house a story, that would be no end of interesting, but I've never seen one hold a coherent thought for even a whole sentence, so it's just spam in my book.

LOL

No way, Lysk... we keep them in place just because we want to see you on a regular basis.

Anyway, there is no serious consideration being given to doing away with the posting games forum (none that I'm aware of, anyway) because they are fun and, IMHO, a good way to "pass time" and "hang out" when your creativity has been sapped to the point where you can't come up with posts for RPs that you may be involved in... I know I've come up with little nuggets of inspiration for some of my in game posts from something I've seen in the "fluffier areas" of our beloved Inn... so far be it from me to say; "Posting games are useless, inappropriate, a waste of time, and should be deleted." My point was that, in the end, post counts don't really matter, just like positive vs negative karma doesn't matter (at the Inn, of course, not where the 'Universe' is concerned)... what really matters, when it's all boiled down is that each and every Innmate finds some enjoyment here and keeps coming back for whatever it is that draws them in... That way we can monitor you and make sure that our brainwashing techniques are effective and, when the time is right, we unleash you all on the unsuspecting masses and remake the earth in our own twisted image.

Oh...wait... errr... uuhhh... I mean... We just want you to have fun... yeah... that's it... fun! *waves a hand* Pay no attention to the man behind the Eol... you never saw me... I wasn't here... in fact, I'm a figment of my own imagination so, if you tell, I'll just stop thinking about myself and you can't blame anyone.

>bloop< End pointless randomosity....

And Ryst, I have had a couple of relevant discussions in the silly games forum during my time here so at least a couple of my posts have been meaningful :

Meaning

As I said - some of it can be meaningful - I'm in no way condemning ALL of the posting games - just the ones that are basically post-count boosting spam. Even so, if that's your thing, go for it, who am I that you should care what I think about your passtime? If my opinion honestly carries that much weight with you... well, I guess I should start one of those cults where I just sit around and spout wisdom wile other people give me money and sexual favors in return.

Grugg

You finally have more Karma than I have smites... So you're doing well on that front... although if I start posting again, that might quickly dissipate, since we all know how popular I am around here.

Post count

Personally, I dont see the deal about post counts, even if its mostly posting games. Either way it shows dedication to the site, even if it means you just took a second to press "submit" more than 1000 times.
