Alex walks over to the carpet and lays down.
"Thank moraglin" he says as the mage hands him a pillow.
Alex sleeps for a little while then wakes up with a start as if a bolt of lightning had hit him. Dae had said something about peering eyes did that mean that the winged creature knew what his new ability was.
"Dae, how many peering eyes would you say are nearby and what type of eyes are they?"

Dae does her best to not laugh as Alex pops awake and asks about the "peering eyes".

"That was prying eyes, Master Trueblood," she give Zara a quick look and sees that her half sister turned to muffle her chuckles in her cloak. "I meant it as a metaphorical statement and not a literal one."

She pauses and looks to the northeast, "But that is not to say that we are not being watched. We were warned that a Dragon was seen patrolling the borders of the Barrens. Luckily is was reported as golden, though the spotters could have been wrong and it could be a yellow. There are any number of animals and humanoid races not friendly to humans and elves roaming about.

Zara sighs and looks about the group, Alex on the carpet with the worldly Moraglin and Dae riding lost in her own thoughts, and now Oko in a funk over something, possibly something Moraglin said.

One moment Zara is seated on her colorful mule and moments later there is a fiery golden dragonette clutching to the seat of the saddle as the mule stops abruptly by the sudden loss of weight and looks back where Zara had been. Zara was still there, just changed in form, she was now a dragonette, a little less than 2 feet from delicate snout to tail tip. Her scales glittered of gold, like she was a very opalescent Fire Opal covered with gold dust, or visa versa. Sebastian had the Equine expression equivalent to “What the ****”.

She lifted into the afternoon air without a wing beat. Truth be told all dragon-kind had the ability to levitate, wings alone could never lift them off the ground. When she had risen above Sebastian’s ears she started to flap her wings, flying around Dae’s head, over Moraglin and Alex and finally to Oko’

“Bet I find a better camp,” a tiny voice whispered in his ear as Zara hovered over his shoulder, “caussse you’re not looking.”

The she shot into the air, “Freeeeeee!”

She shot off to the hills disappearing quickly.

Alex watched with amazement. He thought about becoming such a beautiful creature and then he became a green dragonette and swored after Zara in which he found and settled in a new camp site with her.

Zara heard a silibant sound of surprise and turned her head and neck to look as Alex fought free of his clothes and made a frantic attempt to get into the air. There was nothing graceful about it as he wobbled in the sky and almost fell to the earth. She turned about and hovered in the air above him.

"Think light asss a feather and forget trying to fly for now, and don't forget it." Her silibant voice advised the flapping, flopping cleric. "It's like swimming, first you float and then you fly."

Once he got the hang of floating, she showed him how to flap. "First you lift the leading edge of you wing and raise the tip as high as you can, then pull your wing down starting with the leading edge.

So much for a fast trip to the hills, especailly when Alex had trouble remembering to stay light and coordinate the movement of his wings. Once she does find a spot, she leads Alex to young tree. She gets him to sit on its upper branches, but not on the tip top.

"Nothing too big can climb this and if something tries to sssnatch you out of the air, turn back to your human form before you get too high in the air.

"I'll be back in a flash."

With that she literally disappeared.

She pops next to Dae's shoulder. "Steer toward the cleft in that ridge, its about 5 miles. I will keep an eye on you."

She disappears again and arrives to hover in the air where Alex clung to the branch.

"Alex, you have got to not letting you thoughtsss run away from you, changing ssshapesss doesss not automatically allow you to know how to move in another ssshape, and that can leave you vvvvery vulnerable."

Riding out from the group and always keeping them in sight, Oko will scan the area for trouble. It has been unusually quit as they rode. The wildlife seems to have left the place. The closer they get to the wilds the quieter it gets. Oko was worried, he was a fighter. Mage battles are beyond him. First the priest Alex disappears and then returns. Clint’s friends needing help and then his sudden departure. and now the shapes that keep showing up. First a gold dragonet and then a green one after the black Pegasus. Had him a bit worried, it might be contagious. The bubbles have not appeared again, that was good. The sounds of the wildlife getting less and less were not good. The worry mice worked on Oko as the group rode along.

“Two blind boys stood face to face as they turned towards each other to fight on one bright sunny night, as the blind man pick up his hammer and saw”
??????? Just were did that thought come from? Oko will lift his head and look around, seeing nothing. He will work in closer till he was with the group and gave his horse the command to follow. Glad he was riding Shadow and not Cloud. (he will have to teach her the follow command) Letting Shadow do the work, Oko will still his mind and banish all thoughts (like the wise woman at his village had taught him to do after his older cousin Mur started to develop mind magic and tried to control him.) He was doing so as the new thought came to him this time as a picture not words. A disturbing one of his missing clansmen being shackled and led to a podium like animals to be sold. His shield cut off the rest. It was a shame that all he could do was shield. He would have liked to follow the thought to the source and let him or her know that he was not amused.

That reminded him, that he has not made any progress as to why he left his clan holding to begin with, to find out what was happing to his people who traveled to neighboring provinces and why no one has been returning. Knowing that Mur could track Oko’s thoughts. Oko was sent to see what was going on. So far few clues, just that rumors of ships missing and turning up later with no one on board with the cargo intact and whole caravans just disappearing. In following a lead he ended up with this group. He would of liked to talk to the pirate, But the worn out pirate left.

Another thought showed up faltered and left. The vision did give Oko some information, the fact that whoever sent it could tell he was a feloni and that there is a hope his clans men may still be alive. This was more information then he was able to glean for a long time. Looking up to see their progress. Oko will still his mind again and this time contacts his cousin. It took a while since he was not the strongest sender but it was a familiar path and relay what he had picked up. He could feel excitement at the new lead. Ending the message and with the shield up. The group had entered a cleft with the gold dragonet leading and the green one attempting to fly after it.

Zara appeared and stared up at the greeen Dragonette in the tree. "Ok, Uncle Alex you can come down and change they are going to be hear very soon."

She nodded to Oko. "Well what do you think of my campsite."

"Over the top of the ridge you can see down onto the Barrens. I figured this place was below the rim so I fire would not show. There is a great spring in that rocky cleft with just enough of a pool to water the horses and we can use a bucket to get water by just holding it under the lip of the spring."

As the other rode up. "Ok who's doing dinner, I'm starving."

"Say Moraglin, do you have the spell darkfire, that way no one can see it."

"Did anybody shoot anything for dinner, then again maybe we do not want to eat anything the lives so close the the Barrens. Who know what sort of changes wild magics have made to them, rabbits might be poisonous."

"Hey, Uncle Alex have you changed yet?"

Once again Zara's mind and the subject of her conversation, or was that monologue, quickly switched tracks.

Zara appeared and stared up at the green Dragonet in the tree. "Ok, Uncle Alex you can come down and change they are going to be hear very soon."
She nodded to Oko. "Well what you think of my campsite."
Oko will look up turn his head from side to side in a mechanical manner. His voice when he answers is languid and relaxed sounding

Oko is listening but looks very relaxed one ear is directed at Zara as she talks.

As the others ride up. "Ok who's doing dinner, I'm starving."

Once again Zara's mind and the subject of her conversation, or was that monologue, quickly switched tracks.
At this point Oko will dismount from his horse and methodically untack him and brush him down, it takes a little longer then normal. Shadow is unsure what to do. He watches as his rider goes about his chores, First 1 ear then the other will twitch back and forth as he does so.

After seeing to the horses, Oko will then sit down on a handy rock and start working on his swords, the wet stone makes a steely rasping sound as he hones the edge. A very calm relaxed figure, not really paying any mind to those around him. If any one addresses him they will have to repeat his name a couple of times to get his attention. Any answers will be very languid and relaxed.

Moving over to see what Oko was doing, Shadow will watch for a bit. His rider seems to be thinking about something and does not like to be disturbed when he is making that kind of noise. So carefully moving away to avoid any noises (I rolled a d20 and came up with an 18 so the horse made his move silently skill) he will head towards the stream for a drink.

The water was still a bit warm, and tasted nice. Encouraged by this Shadow promptly sticks his head in up to the base of his ears and blows bubbles and splashes some water onto the shiny sun colored flying thing that came by to see what he was doing. As it shakes off the wetness, he snorts gives a half jump shaking his head and prances around in a playful manner scattering droplets of water, and pokes an inquisitive nose at that shiny creature.

After coaxing Alex from the tree, and helping his change back to his own form, Zara roams about the campsite getting the lay of the land. Should anything happen in the night she wanted to have an idea of where things were, not that she would not be able to see, her night sight was just as good as her day sight, and that was excellent.

She then goes to get Sebastian to take him down to get a drink of water at the creek. Half way down the bank Sebastian snorts and bolts for the water. Zara was jerked of her feet and went flying after him as her literally jumped into the water. Splash went Sebastian and splash went Zara. By the time she got her feet under her and was spluttering out water the spotted mule was rolling merrily in the creek.

Zara let go of the rope and worked her way to the bank with a string of curses coming from her mouth that would have cause a dockworker to blush. She quickly shut her mouth and looked about hoping no one heard.

With a pass of her hand she was dry.

Meanwhile Sebastian was not standing and pawing the water making big splashes. Zara scrambled up the bank to a rock to watch as Sebastian then dropped down on his other side and rolled aroung in the sandy bottom.

Suddenly the golden creature latching on to Shadow's Halter and so the it tail was in his eyes and the head snaked down to give the big stallion a draconic kiss on the nose. Then it spun around and climbed onto his head and half lay between his ears.

"Giddyup." it squeaked. Shadow tried shaking his head and neck, but to no avail and the golden dragonette was holding on to his halter with its front feet and his mane with his back feet.

After every attempt to rid itself of this pest Shadow did the only thing he could think of, Go to Oko for help.

WIth a thunder of hooves Shadow cantered back from the creek with the golden Dragonette perched between his flicking ears.

He stopped dead in front of Oko and dropped his head into the Felani's lap.

Working methodically on his weapons while he was constructing the mind shield, Oko will start to take notice of his surroundings slowly at first. Then with a rush as the head and face of Shadow ends up in his lap sporting a golden dragonet between the ears. Looking at the sight wondering what is going on; Shadow will push at Oko with a plaintive nicker of distress and shake his head and neck. Putting away the dagger he was working on Oko will reach up and gently untangle the dragonet.

“Zzarra how did you get ssoo tangled up in Ssshadowss halter? Jusst relaxss and I will untangle you”

Shadow trying to look upwards is a comic sight to see and horse's eyes were not mean to look up. As Oko untangles Shadow's mane from the back feet of the dragonette it keeps chuckling merrily.

"Teee heee heee heeee, big stud, niiiiiice." Finally free it looks at you as running its swirling gole eyes up and down you body.

"Yu niiiice tooo."

Off to the side Zara appears with her mule in tow, or was that the other way around as Sebastian was leading and Zara was being dragged.

"Hey Oko, Whatch got. Did Alex change again. At least he is a better color."

Shadow trying to look upwards is a comic sight to see and a Horse's eyes were not meant to look up. As Oko untangles Shadows mane from the back feet of the dragon it keeps chuckling merrily.
"Teee heee heee heeee, big stud, niiiiiice." Finally free it looks at you as off to the side Zara appears with her mule in tow, or was that the other way around.
“ Yess Shadow is a really nice sstallion, one of the best from my village which iss noted for excellent horsess” working carefully to avoid pulling out the braids in Shadow’s mane and to not do an injury to the dragonet. “Zzarra how did you managed to get sso tangeled up?” After freeing her from the mane and halter, Shadow snorts, shakes his head up and down then whirls about back to the stream to play some more. Oko is still carefully holding the dragonet who seems content to snuggle against him.

Doing a double take as he see’s Zara

"Hey Oko, What cha got. Did Alex change again? At least he is a better color."
Turning his head he can see Alex sitting by the fire.

“Not Alex, he iss by the fire.”

The dragonet is doing a good job of purring in Oko’s arms

“I Think we hasss a visitorrr”

A visitor Dae says as she walks up from the over near the campfirw where she had just set a pot on to poil. Who and where? she asks quickly as she looks around.

That was until she sees Oko wiht a golden dragonette in his arms, at first she thought it was Zara but it couldn't be as Zara was standing there with her mule. and she knew Alex, the good cleric, was by the fire still in dragonette form but his was bright green.

"Why yes, we do have a visitor. Hello there little one, where did you come form. My name is Dae, this is Oko who is holding you and Zara ," dae points out each. Where Moraglin is at at the present she is not sure
