Not much time this week...
I'm a bit behind schedule this week with baby and work and such. Blar to work, yea for baby.
I'm not sure if I should post yet anyway. Almerin, do you want to resolve Sib's and Sui's actions first?
If you are looking to update all around and you need a declared action from me... Pio will drop his sword and shield (VERY SAD about that, he is) and will attempt strike the cat with his gauntleted fist.
Common sense tells me that, with the low swim rank and the ton of armor Pio's wearing, I'm in a world of trouble. Will I need to be peeling off said armor before I can even attempt to surface? My thinking is Pio's only hope for survival is to kill or scare off the beast, because if he just breaks free and tries to swim away, that cat is going to be on him so fast again. Can I actually make a strike against the beast with my armored fist, while being grappled? I'm not very familiar with grappling rules.
My hope is to strike him with my armored fist, and using ~Crusader's Strike~ along with my ~Martial Spirit Stance~ and my ~Power~ aura.
Combat stats:
AC: 19 (without the shield), 11 touch, 19 flatfooted
Attack: +6 = 3 (base) +3 (Str)
Damage: 1d4 (gauntlet) +3 (Str) +1 (aura)
If he hits, he also gains 1d6+4 hit points back from Martial Spirit stance and Crusader's Strike.
If Pio can't actually make an attack while being grappled, well, than I guess, he'll grpple back?!

I see
I am waiting for other people to post as well. Philosopher is back and should be posting. Jozan could be posting, so I'm waiting a bit more.
Pio has 7 rounds of action left, more if he would do nothing but swim, but such is not the case.
If he drops his stuff and fights with his fist he can do subdual damage, which still counts but doesn't kill. He can attack the creature by making an opposed grapple check, which is difficult but possible. Your hope pretty much lies in making it until your friends help you out, unless you come up with a brilliant plan. You can't strip your armor while in the grapple, but you're also not helpless.
This encounter was made to give you guys some difficulty, not to kill of characters. You can very well survive this, but you need to make good choices.

Fighting with fists
Doesn't fighting with an armored fist (i.e. with gauntlets on) count as regular damage? (like attacking someone with brass knuckles)

Um....
That stinks. I missed the disappearance in my rush. In any case, her actions will be the same. She's going to try to shoot it. Technically now we're dealing with a percentage mis-chance, but that would eliminate the negatives for firing through water, thus making it -12 called shot, so +8 + her regular bonus, and then the percentage mis-chance. This means I'll likely not hit, but it's her best option this round. And if it surfaces next round, I have more actions.

Argh!
Sorry all... I may be delayed again in posts for a this week. Our workplace was broken into and all our computer tech was stolen. I usually write most of my stuff at work, so hopefully by the end of the week, we should have new stuff in.
I think I gave my plan of attack in an earlier post though, so please don't let me hold you up.
Sorry.

man
I'm getting SO tired of waiting. I've sent messages to people, but I'm still updating this evening; My european evening.
I know Ayrn is unable to post, but I will not halt the game for long periods at a time, like has been happening lately, waiting for players to post. Either you're in the game, or you're not. Make a decision, please.

Notes about my post
Fiendish Shark was summoned, and it has darkvision.
It will be there for 4 rounds if I'm not mistaken.
It attacks the same round as the one I summoned it, and always on my round. This means it gets the fish before the fish gets to attack again. It should provide a decent distraction.
Yes, sharks are salt-water fish, but they can usually survive for several hours in fresh-water to catch fish up-river. Even if you deem this fish is NOT a fresh-water fish, it will still have as much as 30 rounds in fresh-water before death. Given that it is summoned, that's not an issue.

ehm
You do know that your shark comes on your NEXT turn, since casting time is 1 round. Then it gets its actions.
And underwater creatures will do well in this encounter, if they are salt or normal water, since it's just 4 rounds.

I have been doing it the other way for quite some time. I think you should double check that. I will also.
