the plan
As I, the GM, understand this - The Plan is as such:
Put the passengers and non-combatants into the caves. Have PC and Matherson look for Mole (Willow, John, Ma, Jessie)
Wyatt, Asher and Wolf stay outside to draw mercs into a guerrilla style combat and protect Roc.
Tess flies shuttles to use the missile against the Merc ship. After that she either lands and joins fighting or flies interference until she is shot down.
Use bombs around the ship to kill off as many mercs as possible. Let Asher and Wolf go wild with automatic weapons.
Your advantages:
They can not use heavy arms or risk damaging Violin
They cannot gas out the caves as it has its own life support
Asher does come with an arsenal of accessories
The mercs probably do not know of the caves, until the detect the power supply.
Disadvantages
They have numbers and are not afraid to die
They may have more than one ship
Once they get a hostage or two, things will get dicey.
They have a mole with you
The post made by Asher about laying out the bombs with Jessie was premature as the bombs were not even made. So that is null and void.

What he said...
Sounds like the plan outlined in its simplest form.

post!
I know it's short, I just felt like we needed to get that missile-attached-to-shuttle bit in the game. I'm good with the plan. Thank you for outlining it, Al. That helped quite a bit.
As to the previous mention of Tess's suprisingly high rifle skill, I always imagined her dropping people off for missions in the war, and providing some sniper cover while she waited for them to come back. Might come in handy for a little crossfire?

a number of things
It is my very busy time of the year and the stomach flu has passed through the Briant family like a herd of gamers looking for the Lost Module of Gary Gygax. Bad scene.

S'okay....
You get well.
I'm headed back to the Great White North again.
I'll be going to Brampton today to go to the Chrysler assembly plant there tomorrow morning.
We'll most likely be pulling in around 8 tonight.

Tess....
The shuttle gets hit and looses most of it's controls. Tess does some fancy flying by jumping back and forth inside to shift the weight to make it bank and turn taking her over the mountain and out of the fight. The little shuttle slides out of sight and into steep walled creator. Unable to use the comm as all electrical systems fail and unable to climb up the steep creator walls she is left to survive on the meager emergency rations stowed with the medical kit. She is found when the cruise ship company finally sends a rescue teams that reach the planet a month later. By then all traces of the Roc are gone. It was by chance that the rescue ship passed directly over the creator allowing it to pick up a ping from shuttles metal haul.

yeah yeah
How could I kill off my favourite playboy gunslinger? Relax! What is the worst that can happen?
On the note of the future ...
Archangel has sent me a pilot for the game so I have a replacement for Tess.
The next campaign I have planned is entitled "Who Mourns for Adonis" and it will the first one that is entirely written by me. It will be a series of short adventures based on a central premise. Adonis is a planet developed for agriculture and it was the first "bread basket" planet created with the goal to feed the systems as they developed. It has been around since the beginning of colonization, one of the planets that took well to terraforming and thrived.
But no more. The plant life slowly started to to wither on Adonis and a plant disease called "The Blight" spread. No one knew why but attempts to use fertilizers and sprays only made things worse. Alliance eggheads came in with a solution that was gonna fix everything but in the end, they just sped up the process and made the disease terminal.
So Adonis is being evacuated. Ships are being granted bounty by the head for pulling people off the planet and alliance ain't running anyone beacons or asking questions. In about 30 days, the planet will be unable to sustain life.
Ain't really an issue for you and yours until Dodger, your old contact and job finder calls you asking straight up for a favour. Seems his teenage niece got involved with some boy from Adonis and she ended up going with him to the family farm. Except it ain't no farm and it ain't no family either. It is some cult that is holding out on Adonis expecting this to be a sign of the second coming of some savior of their beliefs. So Dodger wants you to go to Adonis and do whatever it takes to find his niece and get her out. The fool boy too if necessary. He is willing to pay well and remember the favour.
