Pops in
Well, don't look forward to it too much as you might be disappointed.
Ok, my first post here. I had some questions but as I went back to the first part of this Q&A and found a lot of useful info on posting in game. Format, how to post and what not to post. That is very useful. I got some more reading to do.
Working on some details for my character. She will still be Nurse Dana Cook but I will be just filling in some blanks and changing a few things. Nothing drastic really.
Ok, off to read about posting and finish the character details. Thanks again for giving me a shot.

Happy to have you!
And, as we've said, if you do need help along the way, don't hesitate to ask! Looking forward to seeing you on board, Petty Officer Cook!

I have a post well on the way that will bump us to Starbase 118, but work has had me working today.
I'm about to go leave to coach two little league games, so it will be tonight, sorry!

Stuff
Ok, I finished what I wanted to do on my character. I think I got it right. I didn't know what to put for Service record and the like. I figure I don't need it at the moment. Going to work on a family history. I'll come later.
Question: As I understand it in the 1st page of this Q&A is that each post must have a header like this:
Stardate 2365.02.07
USS Peregrine; Observation Lounge - 1550
But how do I know what to put here? I know the location would be where my character is at but what about date and time? Do I follow along with others times, etc?
Another question: If I understand it right then I could put actions and speaking for NPCs such as the other Medical personnel that my character interacts with as long as it is an NPC and not real person's character, right?
I'm sure more questions will follow.

Info
Date and time is pretty much set by the story, but back posting and such can occur. The time stamps are to keep everything coordinated. A very useful tool is the Trek Tools under the Armoury tab. There's a Logbook that summarizes game events after posts, in chronological order. Eol has been keeping up with it for this one. If you want to post from anywhere that's not the main action, just note that location on your header, and adjust your time frame to fit within the events of the logbook.
And yes, you can fully manipulate NPCs to your heart's content. Just don't do anything involving a player character without consulting with that player first. Collaboration is fun; the post with Eric and Tochi's conversation in the observation lounge was completely built in Facebook messenger between Eol and me today.

insults...
In case you missed some specific insults in my latest post...
Jacobs referred to Drake as "mister". "Mister" is typically reserved for junior officers only - ensign, lieutenant junior grade... a captain could refer to a lieutenant as "mister" and it would be okay, though you'll notice that Drake usually uses "lieutenant", saving "mister" for when he is annoyed (as when Tesenblen could not be reached after being summoned to the bridge).
A lieutenant commander can technically be referred to as "mister", but doing so implies offense, as it infers that the officer is junior. To refer to a full Commander as such would only be done as an intentional insult, and it is NEVER appropriate to refer to the Captain of a vessel as such. Jacobs was pretty far out of line in terms of etiquette on this.
Furthermore, an officer might refer to their own ship as a "boat" in an affectionate manner, but to refer to another starship as a "boat" is again a pretty blatant insult - the implication being that the vessel is tiny and insignificant.

Yep. Definite jerk. Thorson says he has no idea why they exploded. So, moving on with the story then?
Heh. Hehe. Hee heeeeee.
Thorson was also washing his hair the entire time.

lol
Fleet Week! Fleet Week!
Okay... those of you who have duties - most notably, Tesenblen and/or Thorson and the offloading of the pod - you can use that as inspiration to post.
Others - I don't have any key characters on duty between the end of Beta shift (1900) and tomorrow morning so you could explore Starbase 118, if you so desire.

Bridge Watch.........
I would gather that even in Docking Bay we would have at least a security presence on the bridge at all time. A level four to keep watch?
Also seeing we just heard the insult of "Mister"; I used Mister to address the Watch Officer in security as a title of respect for that command. Was that right?

Bridge watch...
Typically, while docked at a Starfleet/Federation facility, it's not 100% necessary to have a crew presence on the bridge - in a lot of cases, the crew of ships (especially those the size of Peregrine) might take this brief stop at the Starbase as an opportunity to get in some "off ship" R&R - Starbase personnel (i.e a Starfleet Security attachment posted to the base) can easily and readily be "substituted in" to relieve the ship's crew. On the other hand, each ship's TAC/SEC officer likely has their own methods and, quite possibly, would dictate that at least one ship-side security officer man/guard the bridge.
That said, I don't think that we're really going to be at SB118 for too long. So I doubt we see a full scale exodus for shore leave. You'd have to talk to the TAC Chief to be sure about watches.
Also... no, in the instance you refer to, "Mister" was not an insult. Perfectly fine and acceptable use of the term.
