Yay you started my favorite book

So who's your favorite character so far? Mines Tasslehoff and Raistlin and Fizban.

Well...

Tika honestly, although she hasn't done much. But she's a cute little red head and I can relate I guess... I hope they do more with her.

Tika...

*purrrr-rrr-rrr-rrrrr* I've got a thing for red-heads... sue me.

Raistlin = Bad@$$!!!

But, when it comes right down to it, Tas had to be my all time favorite in the Dragonlance chronicles.

Firey Red heads

I would have loved to sit in one the gaming session that Dragonlance is based off of. You know one of the authors of Dragonlance lives in a town I used to live in.

Mine is more of a coppery red...

And... wow... that what almost makes you like related to them or something right?

My parents honeymooned at the Stanley... does that link me to King somehow?

Inspired by recent post

In another thread, Meri mentioned Mall Cops. Back when I worked GameStop in a mall, natch, we had a MC named Paul and a little ditty was penned about Paul. Here it is for your consideration. To the Tune of "Surfin' Bird" by the Trashmen:

Paul, Paul, Paul he's a guard in a mall
(p-p-p-p-p Paul, Paul, Paul, p-Paul, p-Paul)

Paul, Paul, Paul, he's as wide as he's tall
(p-p-p-p-p Paul, Paul, Paul, p-Paul, p-Paul)

Have you seen Paul walkin' around?
No, but I feel it 'cuz he shakes the ground!
(a b-b-oom-ma-mow-mow, oom-ma-mow-ma-mow)

That's not bad!

Much better than the crap that the Jonas bro's put out...

I must say I was rather sad when they made an appearance in the 'Night at the Museum' sequel. Amusing movies (despite the historical innacuracies I still applaud anything that gets children even remotely interested in history and/or museums)... but the Jonas bro's running around as little cupids...

Glad I could help inspire a memory of that lovely little ditty though

Hey! It's true! I'm a muse!

Back to Dragonlance

Any Riverwind fans out there *crickets chirp* ya, thought so.

My favorite's always been Sturm. When my old group ran a DL campaign, I was a Knight of the Crown, complete with a squire. We rose up together and my squire eventually ascended to Knight of the Rose, while I stayed a Sword Knight to supplement our party's healing abilities (there were "Mortality Issues" with that DM). Also, when my squire became a Rose, it was revealed that "he" was a "she" and was threatened with expulsion from the Order because an NPC knight raised issues of dishonorable deception on her part. A kind of trial ensued and my PC argued that because the Order is based wholly in honor and honor is without gender then the Order could not discriminate. She won her case, love bloomed betwixt us and we got married. Then she got captured by agents of Cyric and I had to rescue her and was made a Rose Knight, too.

Hmmm

You know I'm only in the second book... but... I have nothing against Riverwind. But so little has been done with him. It is hard to really get to like someone when the author does not give him much attention. In the first book he got some with him protecting Goldmoon and coming to accept Tanis and what not... but he says little, and never really takes up any kind of real leadership (or even an opinion beyond... 'I follow Goldmoon'). He did get a really cool death scene when he got fried by that dragon though... *nod* I'm always up for a good gruesome death scene!

But yeah in the book I'm currently on he and Goldmoon are barely mentioned, just kind of thrown in now and then... 'oh yeah the Barbarian's were there too, Goldmoon healed someone... let's move on with the story'

As for Strum... he is fun. He was actually my first bit of inspiration for a character I'm building for a tabletop game. My first lawful good paladin. We shall see how this goes...

Hehe Morality issues

Riverwind's not a bad character but like Meri said there isn't a whole lot done with him especially in chronicles. I can't seem to recall where he was or what he was doing in dragons of Spring Dawning. Though he does make an appearance or two in side stories. Yeah and he did have an awesome face melty scene. As for my opinion of Sturm...Poor poor Sturm. We should start a Dragonlance game on the inn.

Alright dear...

Start it up.

We all know I'm not the greatest DM and I can't even convince myself to start up the freeform game I've got in mind, let alone try and do a DL.

So get tapping Ion!

I don't have the books

And I wanted to play a character. Though I am thinking of getting my hands on d20 modern or shadowrun books and starting a sci fi fantasy sort of game like Dakarta is asking for...Just need the right inspiration.
