A little irritated

Can we remove the login time out? It is very irritating when a post/PM disappears without a trace because your login simply times out.

yes and no

I cannot remove the login timeout per se. You can click the checkbox to remember you when you log in.

Posts should not be lost - they are configured to "remember" who was writing them upon insert, even if you are logged out. I made a minor edit to allow PMs to do the same.

Question

Is there a reason the fun little lines of goofy smilies at the bottom of the page when you are writing a post or PM do not show up when editing a post?
I've run into the situation where I've wanted to add a crazy smilie or need one to go with an edit and end up having to open another window to figure out what the html is for it to type it onto the post...

Nothing too important, just curious...

M.

P.S. While I'm on the issue of smilies, why isn't there one making a kissie face?

Sent PMs

I think I mentioned this a little while ago, but since the recieved PMs have this nifty feature of multi-deleting I have been wondering why, oh why, does the sent PM folder not have the same feature?

One thing I don't usually do after sending a PM is going to the sent folder and deleting them. Because of that, I now have about 35 pages of sent PMs that are of no use to me. Each page has about 15 PMs. I don't even want to know how often I would have to click Delete to clear that all up, instead of deleting 15 PMs at a time selecting them and throwing them all in the trash at the same time.

So, Olan, when can we get a multi-deleting feature for our sent PMs folder? Pretty please?

Trek Tools?

Had a look through the last few pages of this thread, didn't see anything.

The link to the Star Trek Tools page leads to a version of the site frontpage without the dropdown menus, and with most images broken. Using Firefox 2.0.0.20 here.

whelp

The rule of thumb with the Inn is simple, the Inn hates Firefox.

I use firefox and I'm always finding bugs.

fix

Firefox users now get an update to give them functionality that IE users have had for, oh, five years.

Behold! You may click on the smilies and have them added to yoru post!

The trek tools error is server-related, not browser. I'ma workin' on it.

Smilies are also added to edit pages.

Addy, you wanna start PMing me firefox issues? I'm so much better at fixing these than I once was.

I second that Motion...

Cyr brings up a good point... when you click the "Trek Tools" link, it brings up the main page, with broken images and no drop menu... and I'm using Safari.

Also, I find I'm having trouble Applauding and Smiting certain individuals... I can do so to others, but not certain users...

applauds and smites

No one is exempt from these (check my own totals). However, you may one applaud or smite a person once in a given thread. If you do so again, it simply replaces your last applaud/smite - which gives a net resolt of zero if you are repeating the same action.

As stated above, I'm aware of the trek tools glitch. It is a server issue, NOT a browser one.

Question

Can you use the dice roller to send the same same set of results to multiple email addresses?

Or would you need to email them to yourself and then forward them on?

Question and then Idea

Question:
One per thread only? Then there is no way to give proper recognition to superior posts or inferior posts even if they are deserved.

Idea:
I was wondering if it you be possible to have a for sale list for gaming items, books, miniatures that we no longer want. Just a list of what it is and who can be contacted for the item.

a classifieds area?

Not at all a bad idea. I may look into adding this.

Update: I have removed the old, slow Digg boxes and in their place added a small collection of icons to allow yuo to quickly submit a page from the Inn to one of the content sharing sites out there (digg, delicious, reddit, etc). It wasn't worth the slow page load to see how many (few!) Diggs a page had.

If you use any of these services, please consider submitting Inn content to them!
