Interesting stuff....
Oriel thinks that we should be honest with the guy int he mayors house - I don't remember the name - is it actually the mayor? We don't need to mention the merchant specifically, but say that we heard about the trouble and came to try and sort things out. If pressed we could admit the merchants involvement. But I don't think this is a guy to lie to.
I am curious about the owl. It almost seems like a lie detector or something, but I've never heard of something quite like that.
Oriel would continue to stand - sort of propped up on his longbow. Comfortable and non-threatening, but still standing. The little guys could sit down - it looks freindly and they could duck for cover quickly if needed.
So, we tell the truth and we bluntly ask questions:
What does he know about the dispapearances?
Who has gone and returned?
Who was the last group to go?
With so much happening, why is he still here?
As the mayor, what has he done about it?
Has there been any indication of violence?
What is the owl? (Ask early?)
*If everyone leaves, who stands to inherit all of the land? This may be a bad question to ask him. I almost feel like Scooby Doo trying to uncover the bad guy on this one. But I don't think the mayor is the bad guy. Maybe.
