I'm in

I am definitely in. I knew from the start that this would have a slow pace. I'd be ok with a faster pace, but that isn't what I expected. I am enjoying this adventure - and would also do a dungeon crawl.

Remember - most of my gaming enjoyment comes from a game in which I get a turn every two weeks - plus some crazy contest I got talked into that only plays once every four weeks. I think this is the right group to be able to handle this pace.

Anyway, if we lose a few people, that is fine. I think we have plenty that are active and can keep going. Also, if people can pop in someitmes, then their characters can be on maintenance in the meantime, just hanging with the group and doing standard style based stuff. There are times real life will affect us all, even Oriel Blackmoon.

I have no complaints about the dungeon master or the dungeon!

Hammer ... Gunther ... and ...

..... and the character I have waiting for Trip's second rendition are definitely in!

I was planning on posting last night, but I was delayed at the hockey league for over an hour last night and then when I tried to get a taxi I was delayed another 45 minutes!

When I got home I decided to just wait and see what developed with my Group 1 members in the light of their recent postings!

Trip just post what the new guidelines are and Gunther will post his actions or reactions later tonight [just after 8am over here now!]

I am enjoying this adventure!

For the record ...

..... to let you know how much I am enjoying this adventure format ... I had the good fortune of getting on board for another adventure with a different group of gamers!

In addition to joining Trip's second game whenever that one is able to get off the ground ... either during or after this present adventure with An Evil in Orlane ... I am on the lookout for a third game on these boards!

I'm in as well...

The adventure seems to be going smoothly, with some responding more quickly or slowly than others. If there are drops or inactive players, I don't think they would mind the DM taking control of their character. Consider it like being "on maintenance", only without the owner running up a negative balance.

Sentinel The Small

Is in.
He understands the need for patience in this format.
He has no idea what a "dungeon crawl" is.
He is enjoying this adventure.
He knows action is ahead.
He appreciates Trip doing this.
He has no problems if there are "drops" and fewer involved.

A salute to all who truly want to play/go on, and a hearty "good luck" to those who chose not to do so.

Pause button.

Ok, when I get home tonight I am going to consolidate. So don't post just yet, I am going to split the group into 2 instead of 3 or 4 for now. It will be a short post probably putting 1 group at the mayors and 1 at the inn like it is now, but splitting the group with the remaining players.

Pause Button ...

..... is fine with me and I look forward to this adventure not bogging down in the next few weeks!

Will you also be posting some other guidelines as to how the game will be facilitated from now on?

Kitai is in

I have already emailed Trip about this but for the rest of you .... My apologies for a lack of posts this last week .... My mother came to visit me in NYC from North Carolina and while we were out sight seeing she tripped on the sidewalk and the poor thing broke both wrists rather badly ... Needless to say she required a bit of hands on care. Anywho ... I have successfully driven her back to NC and am now free to resume our litle game here ... I will catch up on all posts in the Q+A and Orlane threads and make posts for Kitai to try and " catch up "

Thanks again and sorry.

Floyd

Stings is In

I am in for sure. I must say I was expecting more of a dungeon crawl but I also thought this was an intro so I knew it would take some time getting going. I am looking forward to the battles and loot we shall get when we start killing beasties!

Sentinel The Small

may also be small in mind (we all know the real one, right) but nevertheless he does not understand what "dungeon crawl" means ... would someone clarify for his small mind?

Sentinel The Small learns to crawl

A dungeon crawl is a type of role-playing adventure in which heroes negotiate a labyrinthine environment, battling various monsters and looting any treasure they may find. Because of its simplicity, a dungeon crawl can be easier for a gamemaster to run than more complex adventures, and the "hack and slash" style of play is appreciated by players who focus on action and combat. The term can be used in a pejorative sense, since dungeon crawls often lack meaningful plot or logical consistency. For example, the parody game Munchkin is about "the essence of the dungeon experience… Kill the monsters, steal the treasure, stab your buddy."[1]

A dungeon crawler (or dungeon bash) is a specific title that focuses on contained areas where the player proceeds through a dungeon collecting treasure, usually culminating in a boss battle. The enemies and items (and sometimes boss) normally reappear after exiting and re-entering a major section. There may be only a token plot involved, in order to allow focus on extensive combat, skill, item creation, and loot drop mechanics. Luck is usually heavily involved, controlling which monsters may spawn in the area or the treasure they carry. Low percentage rates for powerful items encourage the player to repeatedly clear the dungeon in order to obtain them.

Daggon it, that internet is a slick weapon to have in the backpack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
