happy holidays

I guess we might as well rest as the characters do. Y'all have a great Thanksgiving and we'll talk again after the big feast(and the following nap).

Watch...

I don't mind taking the early caster watch since I still have my spell ready. This will allow me to restudy if I need to use it during that time.

Did they leave the light on for us?

Ok, how many hours do we really need to rest? If these are two hour shifts - this gives us 10 hours of rest time. Of course, some of you will be studying or praying during this time. Did Hingatuli use any spells? If not, it is just Trillian who is studying - and thus does not take a turn at guard duty. Does that make sense to everyone?

Watch 1 T'Sal
Watch 2 Hingatuli
Watch 3 Anvil
Watch 4 Rat
Watch 5 Rat

Also, remember we have the services of Sprinkles and Muffin. I'm guessing one dog is asleep at all times, but we try to keep the other one conscious to help guard. If anything odd happens, do not hesitate to get someone else awake.

And no fire.

Does this work - I can post it on the game thread shortly if all agree. Also, since no one has argued for or against it - I'm thinking we are headed to the bridge in the morning. I'll post that at the same time unless someone speaks up - no reason not to keep things moving.

OMG!

Excitement seems to happen on my watch!?
"Shambling" meaning ????? Shambling Mounds
Being a "heads on" guy, rather than running from a fight, Rat says "sound the bugle!".

....... waiting on comments from the experts .......

Shambling would probably mean ...

..... that Zombies are greeting us for breakfast at early dawn!

Hingatuli would get one attempt at turning the undead, but the way things are going who knows?

A few things...

I guess we need to find out how many is several? Did anyone understand the language? Did SD actually say it was zombies or undead? If so do we need to use the silver weapons?

Information needed

Well, it seems SD is back from the woods and we are back in them!

SD, a couple questions, as always:
1. Approximate distance to the woods and the shamblers?
2. How long untill we can get a good look at them?
3. The light and the scream - how far away at a best guess? Does it seem like it came from these shamblers - the impression I had from the post was that it was farther away. Do the two things appear to be connected?
4. What direction are they coming from - scream and shamblers? - I believe the orcs went North.
5. Anvil is on guard - but did the others sleep in armor? I want to say yes, but you're the boss.
6. How many are several?

Ok, group - what to do?
Do we wait for them to get close to confirm that they are bad guys or do we assume that they are? I'm thinking shoot first, talk later.

I doubt we will get more info on shambling until they are closer. For now, zombies seem like a reasonable and disgusting guess. Should we start with that assumption? If so - Hingatuli could get ready to try and turn them.
What do we know about Zombies? Do you need a silver weapon to hurt them? I didn't think so, but it has been so long since I have dealt with these things that I'm not sure I remember correctly. Will my bow be of use? I would think those with ranged weapons would want to launch an attack ASAP. Or, if they are shambling, we could run, but who wantst to do that? Sleep, as I recall does not work on the undead.

What light sources do we have to light up the situation?
