Found it...
Per the star trek wiki and some referencing of the TNG Technical manual:
Escape Pods (also known as "Autonomous Survival and Recovery Vehicles" or ASRV on Starfleet and Federation spacecraft) are launched from specialized bays beneath retractable sections of hull plating. These sections were spaced about the ship, providing access for as many crew members as possible. The typical ASRV is a six-person craft capable of sustaining survivors for up to eight months. (* Eight-person versions were also said to exist) Both types were equipped with impulse microthrusters and emergency subspace comm systems; however, without a warp drive, survivors were reliant on larger ships for ultimate rescue. There also appears to be at least one phaser strip on the outer hull of the pods.
So, on a ship the size of Cerberus, let's say that we can get 6 people per ASRV.
Kind of minimal info I know but, hopefully, gives you something to work with.

Question of procedures
Ok Rhiannon MacQueen, twin of Brianna MacQueen in going to get her team aboard the Charon just before the s*** fits the fan. So a number of questions.
Is the ship docked so that the team could just walk aboard?
Who would be there as they come aboard, walking or by Teleporter?
Are there any specs available for the type of ship the Charon is.

Ship Info
Try this for info on the Saber-class.
That's the type of ship the Charon is.
Saber-class Info Link
EDIT: I changed the original link I put up; Call to Duty site is MUCH better info.
Which, I see, is the same link you posted, YeOlde, hehe...ah well, double coverage is always nice.

Cerberus survivor info
That's right, YeOlde. The Charon just left Deep Space 9 and is en route to rescue Cerberus survivors (Cerberus set sail out of Stabase 10), ETA is 14 hours according to Brom.
Anybody who made it off the Cerberus would be in escape pods, awaiting rescue operations.
I think I see where there could be confusion. Brom's post about the disaster states that it is Brianna McQueen that is alive and in a pod with her MACOs, but Brianna's earlier posts say that it is Rhianna (or Rhiannon? sp*) aboard the Cerberus. I just re-read the whole thread to double-check that.
So I'm assuming that it's Brianna in the escape pod and Rhiannon leaving with the Charon for the rescue, yes? Or would it be vice versa? Or do I have it wrong entirely? Hehehe

Thank you.
I'm glad that all of you are enjoying this. We've plenty more where this came from so stay tuned.
OK, the Charon was actually docked to one of the pylons of DS9, so the M.A.C.O.s could have walked on board.
I'm going to post ahead again. I want to keep the pace moving, and continue to provide direction. Just remember folks, in the free form style, the idea is to invoke action from others, put the challenge of storytelling into other player's faces, so expect that.

Some Confusion
Rhiannon MacQueen was on DS9 with her team so it is she who will be boarding just before the the Charon takes off.

Danke
Thanks for setting me straight, DM. Doing a bit of posting ahead of my own, in the spirit of Brom's advice.
