New map

Alright, this is what you get to make your diabolical plots with for the beginning of Round 2. I can't think of anything in particular that you need to know right now other than that you can't see Ray or Lady Emerita because they're in the carriage.

Also, you'll noticed that the left road has suddenly shifted into position. None of you made your spot checks to notice the magically moving road so you'll pretend that it was like that the whole time.

Good Luck. I'll start taking down the older maps as time goes on.

EDIT: I'll have to fix the map and re-link it because Ben doesn't have a move action left. He is still standing before the opened zombi corpse. NEVERMIND, I was being foolish again.

Edit: Map is folded. I just put the pointy brackets back up to bring it back, or you can copy the link (minus 'img src=') to have a look at the archives yourself. Or you could visit my Facebook.

Ta-da. Now if only I didn't feel so dang sick.

Edit: Map is folded

Ha ha! Do a double take at this why don't you!

img src=http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs118.snc1/4983_103632192250_524312250_2525118_762266_n.jpg

Yes, the carriage just flew away. Don't worry, it's okay, you're not just seeing things like you were with the self-shifting road incident on pages past. For one thing, though, this will make things easier when it comes to trying to get over to Ian and Jeremy's side to help them. It does make it harder, though, to help Ray or myself, and even harder for us to help you (though Magic Missile does have a nice range for reasons like this).

Anyway, feel free to go to your devious plots for next round.

Oye, I meant to make this post a week ago

Yes, the horse dodged an AoO. I was tired of the little things that I skipped it and hoped no one would ask me about it later.

This post also serves the purpose of letting Karma know that I saw what it did just there.

Oh dearie me, the carriage is gone

img src=http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs087.snc1/5066_106545847250_524312250_2573775_1665736_n.jpg

Don't you worry about your little carriage, I know where it is. The back is roughly 15 squares or about 75 ft off the top of the map. That's 100 ft away from Jeremy's new position. Two normal zombies and one that has been magicking your dying guard to further death.

For the record, if I had another spell point, I could expect to hit the magic zombi from where I am now. ('cept I'm turned around and looking for reigns, not looking at who I can cast at)

concentration check

hey owen did you make a concentration check for maintaining your spell while being jostled. I dont know the details, but i know that with powers, the specify this kind of situation for a check. I believe this would be the DC 20 one.

Hehe

You're right about the concentration check. I completely forgot that that skill had any use other than when taking damage and combat casting XD

Well, I know that it has a lot of uses, even outside of spellcasting, but it didn't occur to me at the time.

Also, it's a DC 10 for a bouncey carriage ride, 15 for a very violent juttering ride. If we were to go offroad it might increase to 15.

Map again- I think it's time to start folding up the first ones.

img src=http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs181.snc1/6009_106921427250_524312250_2578245_7675218_n.jpg

By now the carriage is too far away for me to even bother you with the details. It is probably a retreating figure in the distance, with Ray and myself inch-tall figures crawling on top of it. Simply, it has moved another 250 feet since last round, since I'm assuming that it moves as fast as a heavy horse.

Also, Jeremy just ran off and is a good number of squares off the top, also. Not that he stands a snowball's chance in hell. (Actually, depending on what layer, a snowball has a pretty good chance.... Better yet: A low-level paladin's chance in hell.)

Aeth's Offer

I would be wanting to go off as a guard. I Think I have the most credibility (so to say), as I have actually talked with Lady Emerita and come to like her character. I would also be interested in learning more about the Gemini twins from her as well, since she seems to put it in a more neutral and understanding tone as opposed to obnoxious-zeal like or arrogant opposition. My training will also aid me in this respect, as I do have martial proficiency. Further more, they do not know that I am a "Caster", so they should have very little to have against me.
Note, this could also aid me in my growth on the path I would like to take, that is, become a guardian and humble servant of goodly people.
If anyone opposes these ideas, speak up, or forever hold your peace!

character sheet

looked at skills again. shouldn't my use psionic device be +4, not +2? Synergy + ability mod.

also, update the equipment. I have done most of it on the post of To the Shoppe, but it will be easier to refer to on Q&A.

Heh, my fault

A pair of essays are being a pain in the ass right now. Once I'm out of the rough as of next week, I can resume work on my post. Actually just today I had a bit of inspiration for the post (though perhaps not enough). Mr. Sakamoto has been waiting to reply to you for somewhere north of a month, I think.

Ooh, would you look at that?

Heh, nice touch. Not only does our sixth party member speak up for the first time in some 5 odd pages, but he brings with him some topics for debate. I can't even do an update XD.

It should be noted, as you may see attached to the main thread, that I am still out of comission. Have fun debating. Both of you have good points that hinges on the question of whether or not we can reasonably expect the poochie to start preying on the town and whether or not they can protect themselves if it does.

Things that may help your debates: The poochie has given the semblance of getting closer to the town recently. The cart will be defenseless to any attack (and also lacks an obvious excess of supplies, which might cause potential bandits to ignore it, but again, there is no way of knowing the future of that). Sounds like you guys could really use a diviner.

(Don't look at me, I don't even have second level spells yet, much less the power to say "Thus it shall be.")

FYI

animals can acquire the taste of human. there have been stories of animals specifically hunting people over other animals. Anything that becomes aquainted with humans is less afraid of them.
