More similarities
I think it's kind of funny that Odin and Bohen's equipment is so similar.
+3 Elven chain vs. +3 mithral chain shirt
rapier vs. rapier
heavy crossbow vs. heavy repeating crossbow
The rapier is still hiding in the Haversack, and the chain shirt is mostly covered by a cloak, but I'm looking forward to seeing Odin's reaction if he ever gets to see Bohen fight close-quarters.

a map... kinda
I made a grid for the museumroom. This is how it is right now, with clouds of dust still hanging in the area. Only one round has passed since the attack, and I think I should add that when the creatures struck it was fast: a hit and run.
The museum is located against the outer rim of the Warrens of Rvisthorn. There is nothing behind the wall where the creaures came from, besides rock and unknown territory.

Clarification
I knew that I didn't actually have an action to attack with during the smash and grab, so I used the fluff of 'crowd in the way' to cover the crunch of 'it's not my turn yet'. Drawing the weapon from the pack is as easy as walking forward and loading takes even less time. Why wouldn't he take a shot even if it'd be at the thing's back? I figured throwing the crowd in would cover, but if you think it makes the creature's attack seem slower than it actually was, I can change my post easily.
Also, before anyone gets too comfortable thinking of Bohen as having completely cut off his beard, I was to clarify his appearance. He does have a beard and until about ten years ago he looked like every other Khord you might find. Looking at him from now the neck up, he'd still look like any other Khord his age. The 'problem' with his beard is that it ends abruptly at the collar bone. At first he just cut a line straight across, but over the years he's taken to trimming the bottom edge so that it curves a little to match his jaw line.

Postage due
The holidays with a 2 year old just make everything take longer, it seems. Just got my character sheet off to Almerin and he's approved of it, so I'll post tonight. Today, MMV and I are off to the King Tut exhibit at the art gallery

Sorry
Odin listened to the man’s smooth and effortless speech with some small jealousy. The man’s voice seemed to flow out over the group beautifully.
When I read this part of your post I knew I'd screwed up. Bohen's got a crap charisma score, so he can't go sounding all eloquent and stuff.
How do I fix this without editing a major chunk of my post?
Then it hit me. It's not how he speaks, but what speaks. I'm liking this little bit I've found out about him and I'm looking forward to some interesting NPC interactions in the future. I just hope he doesn't provoke Odin too much so he'll live long enough to talk to an NPC.

stuff
To Deucalion: Hey man, sorry about mixing up the beard thing, I knew it was longer than just a couple of straggly chin hairs I was just getting bored of writing that young khord, &c... and got fancy at the expense of accuracy, won't happen again.
As far as the Charisma thing goes, no worries in my books. I figure Odin is so botched for charisma - you may have noticed complete and utter incompetence regarding communication - that he would be jealous of anybody's speech in comparison to his own. Again, in the future I will not pain Bohen as such a talented rhetorician, I'm guessing it isn't a big deal in this opening post?
Looking forward to moving forward!

Cool
Not a big deal at all. And I do kind of like the idea of Bohen sounding fluent, having a pleasant voice, but the words that actually come out of his mouth just don't go over too well most of the time. He means well. There's just a reason he was assigned scout duty away- far away- from the main camp.
I get kind of paranoid any time one of my characters comes into conflict with another PC. I recently was involved in a game in which one of the other players couldn't separate player from character, and mistook in game stuff as an attack by the players against her personally. I've not yet had a chance to get to know all of you and just wanted to make sure everyone knew I don't have any issue with you at all. That was just Bohen being weird about Odin.
I also got fancy at the expense of accuracy with the whole "almost shoots at the attackers" thing. No worries. That sort of thing happens and to a traditional dwarf, Bohen might seem bare chinned.

No worries
I think you are both handling character interaction well, and if there are initial misunderstandings...well, it's combat, after all
Almerin, can you clarify something for me? You mention numerous mandibles reaching out and grabbing the curator and several guards. Mandibles are jawbones, and/or the moving mouthparts of insects, so are we dealing with one spiderlike creature, or several?

hehe
Yes, finally somebody asks the question I've been dying to give an answer to, haha.
It is almost certain that you are dealing with several creatures with large mandibles, which are indeed large mouthpieces; like extended jaws, of insects. But you guys have seen spiders before... these are not spiderlike. They are wider.
I haven't read all the recent posts, but will do so after the weekend. If I find the time during the week, I will post an update as well. Otherwise, I'll post next weekend.
As far as conversing amongst ourselves: you guys are so far the best group I've ever DMed when it comes to using the Q/A usefully. Good job!! Keep the questions and remarks towards each other coming.

Short absence
Yes, the professional hobo is packing her bags again. Tgis time, I get to find out how painful it will be to fly into the US with the new security measures. In any case, I leave extremely early tomorrow morning and won't be online again until Thursday.

there we go
Alright. Finally got up my response to Bohen. I had over looked that post earlier Deucalion and had only realized it in going to reread some of Al's post. Either way its up now. I'm really enjoying this role-playing so far, what an interesting cast of characters!

loki?
I wondered about that... perhaps we should drop him a PM. I figure he simple forgot he was in this game but its also true that he hasn't posted on any forum in a week or so, which seems rather unlike him. Either way, I'm really enjoying this game. Here's to hoping it continues to move with a steady clip and outlasts us all! er... wait a minute...

hehe
I already dropped Loki a line last weekend. I was hoping he would update, but tomorrow is the deadline for I'm not waiting yet another week with updating. I can understand that getting the hang of these games again after the holidays can be tedious, but it's already been the 15th!
So yeah, if everything goes according to plan, tomorrow you should have your update!

I'm waiting on the results of my "did they leave foot prints?" check, so I guess I'm waiting for the next update. Without knowing if I find anything, my post would look something like, "Okay then. Let's go..... .... ah .....this way?"
