I don't think...

...that it's Rick that Shane needs to worry about... at least, I hope not. It'd be a shame if they changed the scene I'm thinking about... I think it'd ruin a certain character if they did... Won't say more but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

And, Tann, I the series, myself, and, in some aspects, find myself wishing I hadn't read the graphic novels first, too, because I find myself almost expecting the series plotline to go from A to B to C, just the way it went in print, probably, and find myself with those "Whaaaaat?!" moments like in last night's episode... Again, not really bad "what?!" moments just kind of unexpected and leaving me to wonder "Okay, so they already did this... where's that gonna go, then?"

Great series, indeed, and the changes take nothing away from the print version... in fact, some of the changes/additions have far surpassed what was presented in the pages of the trades and have given a number of characters much more depth than they had at this point when I first started reading.

Cool Beans

Well I'm looking forward to more episodes and I hope it sticks around a good long while. It's still a good thing you and Meri know the comic's so I know who to go to if I have a HUH?? moment while watching .

Well....

Of course he's not a good guy. He encroached on his best friend's wife.

And even while they might have suspected that Rick wasn't going to make it out of that hospital alive, they had no proof... and they jumped on that train pretty quickly too. I'd hope that that my best friend and husband wouldn't hit the sack less than a month after they thought I was eaten by zombies.

And yeah... Lori isn't off the hook here either.

Yeah...

...Lori will have some answering to do, too, I'm sure. *nods*

End of the world as it is and all, though, I can almost understand how Shane and Lori would have ended up 'clinging to one another' the way they have - there's the whole familiarity/comfort in an otherwise crazy situation kind of thing and whatnot, you know? Tends to lead folks down paths that they might not have otherwise entertained and all that buuuuut... and they kind of alluded to this in this week's episode... While Lori's motivations for the thing with Shane might have been resultant of that "clinging to the sane and familiar" thing, it's pretty obvious that Shane's had designs on Lori before Rick even got shot... not necessarily defending the woman outright, just saying that there's a bit of a difference in Shane's approach and reasoning to the whole thing as compared to Lori's.

Anyhoo... Tann, if you get HUH? moments, of course, feel free to ask me (although, I think Meri might be an issue or three ahead of me where the trades go) and I'll do what I can to help out.

Shoot for the head!

At this point, I'm scared to like the show TOO much (remember my penchant for picking failing comics in the past?).

Don't count Merle Dixon out just yet, Tann. Soon they'll make a rescue attempt, going on the previews. The story will be more interesting with him in the mix. Then Merle (really?? That's the name for him? *shrug*) _and_ his brother could have a better chance staging some grab for power within the survivors' group. Personally, I don't blame Shane and Lori for the relationship they've established. What is unthinkable within the framework of society pre Z-Day oft becomes pure survival either on an individual or species-wide basis. So the two of them hooked up. Given the situation and rational assumptions tied thereto, I just can't condemn them. Granted, when Rick gets back the three of them are going to need a loooong talk.

Still want to see Morgan again, sooner rather than later.

I would have missed this!

I wouldn't have known about this series if I hadn't read about it here, but now I've watched the two episodes and so far I'm liking it. But does anyone else find it funny that on the way to Atlanta, only the road out of the city was crammed with cars? In a way, I guess it speaks well of the people in Atlanta that they wouldn't commit traffic violations even in a zombie apocalypse...

As for the redneck, I'm pretty sure he'll be back. Notice that when T-Dog dropped one of his bags on the roof, the camera cut to it, indicating that they will become relevant later. Of course, if he does come back, he's sure to cause more trouble than anyone needs.

Just gotta love those zombies.

*grins*

Glad we got you interested, Darth Scabby!

Always nice to have another voice to input into these discussions, you know.... not to mention a zombie fan...

You know what I found weird about the "outgoing" traffic from the city? The fact that they were outgoing... wasn't Atlanta supposed to be a "safe haven?" Why were folks leaving? Hmmmmm.....

Also... LMAO @ "When do we want it? - Braaaaaains!"

:)

My husband had issues with Glenn pulling off a perfect J-turn in the Challenger.

Which I thought was funny because that was all he had issues with. And then explained to him that all ex-pizza delivery boy's can do that... and then my husband was sad because he used to delivery drive but he delivered sandwiches not pizza so he didn't get the j-turn training.

Personally I loved all the squishy sounds when they chopped up that zombie. That was nice and icky.

And yes... Brains

The zombie

I love the modern zombie because the zombie is part of 20th century mythology. No other culture in history, to the best of my knowledge, ever created something that feeds on braaains. I'll let you judge whether that's a good thing or not.

At the zombie PETA rally:

- What do we want?
- Graaains!

(Kudos to Grugg for that one.)

d20 Modern

I couldn't help but notice that the cover art for The Walking Dead looks remarkably similar to that in the d20 Modern books. Observe!

The Walking Dead d20 Modern
Or maybe I just read too few comic books and they actually all look like that? Still, it's not just the drawings in themselves but also the composition and colors. (Wow, now I sound really smart for using the word "composition" about art.)

*happy dance*

Good! The six episodes that comprise season 1 aren't going to be near enough.

Six?

Wow... remember when TV shows used to have 24 episodes a season?

Seriously?

I thought Dexter was short with only 12 episodes a season. :S
