Nice post, Astrid!
Well played, Astrid! At first I read the italicized part and thought he was going for the intimidation route, but it was a neat surprise to read that it was just the mental movie he was playing in his head. Well done!
EVERYONE:
Bunch of eager beavers! All of you posting within 24 hrs of the update! Nice.
So, now that we have a few days before my next update, how do you guys want to play this?
I get the sense that you are trying for the intimidation/back down route? Yes?
Can you each list the following options in order of your character's hopes:
1) The bandits will back down, maybe taking Fenir's offered coins, and leave peaceably?
2) The party attempts to shoot it out and try to kill the bandits?
3) The party attempts to capture the bandits (kill, if necessary), and turn them in when you pass through Stormhollow?
4) The party enters into negotiation with the bandits, offering them some more money than the coins Fenir's offered, but nothing belonging to Weldon and his sons?
Let me know and we'll go from there.
Thanks!
Ayrn

(i think if it dose come down to fighting if they can incapacitate the bandits over killing them it would be better. )

Blood Thirsty
Here is the order that Oltovian would choose, based upon his knowledge of lore etc, plus being aggravated that the Raccoons would attempt to rob them!
Reasons provided following the ***
2) The party attempts to shoot it out and try to kill the bandits? ***Dead Bandits will not live to rob or possibly hurt any other beasts! He does not trust the Ringleader!
3) The party attempts to capture the bandits (kill, if necessary), and turn them in when you pass through Stormhollow? ***Oltovian does have some rope, but the Ringleader needs to die!
1) The bandits will back down, maybe taking Fenir's offered coins, and leave peaceably? ***Not an Option
4) The party enters into negotiation with the bandits, offering them some more money than the coins Fenir's offered, but nothing belonging to Weldon and his sons? ***Not an Option
Note
The whole purpose of his Chant Rhyme was to give the Bandits the opportunity to show their colors and run, or stay and die!

Thoughts of purple
Violet's actions are based on one assumption: Based on how well armed the group is, they are repeat offenders. How skilled they are with their weaponry is another matter entirely.
They clearly have made a show of force. Violet's hope is that the group has a return show of force, and that they will back down. A fight right now, she doesn't see as being a good option, considering the current conditions - namely there being possible noncombatants that need to be defended.
I'm not sure if she knows exactly what Fenrir did, but either way, she considers them going away a good thing. After getting to the city, we can always double back to track and deal with them after getting more information about them.
If it does come to violence, Violet is ready and intends to target the main threats - ringleader, brute, and archer. She assumes they would not be pulling their punches, so she won't either. For that matter, Catkin was not designed to be gentle. If Violet was intending to be less lethal, she'd be using her sling. Pinecones aren't quite as lethal
If they end up surrendering, then they can be escorted to the city after being disarmed.
EDIT: Forgot to mention... Violet sees negotiation with bandits as not an option; the negotiations themselves could easily be buying time to do something... she doesn't trust them

Thanks for the prompt responses
Seriously! Look at you guys! All speedy like.
Well, the majority seems to be says they'd like to avoid an all out shoot out... we'll see if you are able to avoid it.
My next two days are full, so my update will have to wait until Thursday. Sorry.

Slight delay
Sorry, gang, ran into some vehicle trouble today (nothing serious... just needed a boost) and had to wait around for a few hours for help. Needless to say, I'm beat. I'm going to need to put my post up tomorrow.
Sorry for the delay.

Response to Oltovian
Hey Everyone,
I'm deliberately delaying any response from Weldon to Oltovian to allow others the opportunity to respond first.
Thanks!

Hammer's response
Hey Hammer,
You are welcome to response back to your two companions. I know Astrid posted that Fenir attempts to pull Oltovian away, but Oltovian definitely has the advantage here, so if you really wanted him to cut the head off of Simon, he can still attempt to do it. Not suggesting Oltovian should or shouldn't do it, just saying that the option is still available to you.
I would say that Oltovian would know that Asher is correct when he says that few back at the Abbey would approve of killing an unarmed foe. Whether or not Oltovian's desire for vengence will overshadow his knowledge is up to you. Oltovian will have to deal with the consequences of his actions.
Peace,
Ayrn

Additional notes for clarity
Hammer, I've posted for Weldon.
Everyone, we're going to assume that Fenir has not yet knocked Simon out. As it stands, the badger is presently trying to convince Oltovian to not kill Simon. He has also knock away Simon's swords so that they are out of reach.
Depending on Oltovian's actions, I'll determine what happens with Simon.
I still hope to post an update tonight. Reralae, if you are able to post, awesome. Otherwise, I'll assume Vi comes out of the trees to help tie up the prisoners.
If no one posts about chasing down the escaping bandits, I shall assume they escape and that the group will eat some lunch and then head into Stormhollow.
Thanks!
Ayrn

Bodkin
Hey Bodkin,
I also wanted to say I really like how you posted with Asher's developing cold in mind. Haha, at first I thought there was something wrong with your keyboard and it was switching the p's with b's. Then I noted that the two keys are no where near each other in the keyboard.
Anyway, just want to say that was a nice touch! Thanks!

Here's Hoping
That Vi decides to hunt down the two fugitives!
Oltovian is well aware that the two fugitives could quite possibly harm some innocent beast along the way!

Posting too much
Astrid,
Your post was pretty good. And I really liked what you had hoped Fenir would do -- very "noble" (well, maybe not the part where Fenir gave a sly grin and ground in Simon's wounded paw lol ).
Anyway... again, you mostly just want to avoid posting other PCs or NPCs actions. So, for instance, you had posted that Fenir pulled Oltovian off. A better way to post that would have been to say that Fenir attempts to pull Oltovian off Simon.
Similarly, Hammer might post that "Oltovian thrusts his dagger at Simons throat." But it would not be okay for him to say, "Oltovian thrust his dagger through the bandit lord's throat sending blood spraying everywhere. Simon gurgles in the loss of his life blood and falls face first into the mud, dead." That would be going too far and would be stepping into the realm of the DM.
Don't stress too much about it... it's sometimes a blurry line. My guideline would be this: Post what you attempting to do... leave the results to me. So, you may post that Fenir knocks Simon hard atop his head. In the OOC, you might note that Fenir is attempting to knock the raccoon out. Then, I'll roll some dice and see what happens.
Anyway, keep up the great posts! You guys are doing awesome! (I'm having fun, at least)
