Bio Background
His name was merely The Silent One and no one knew for sure if he did not speak by his own choice of personal consecration to Solanis, or if he had suffered a natural cause for his seeming inability (or unwillingness) to communicate with words, while in the company of others.
Yet it was obvious that The Silent One understood Drannese, Apanonese, Khord and Sylvari by the way the old Priest of Solanis reacted with nods or facial expressions, whenever any of these languages were spoken by individuals or groups in his presence.
No one really knows where The Silent One had found the badly injured 17 year old Human, but most of his fellow Priests of the Eyes of the Blazing Sun sect, had agreed that it must have been somewhere near the border of Sendria and Drannon, after determining the amount of time that their fellow Priest had been absent on his unknown journey from the Temple of the Eyes of the Blazing Sun, secluded somewhere in Ertain, within a 3 day's journey of both Drannon to the west and Sendria to the north.
Judging from the unique mud stains on his boots and robes, plus the particular healing herbs that The Silent One had brought back to the secluded temple, his fellow Priests knew that their silent companion had not come from the south nor the east.
The Silent One had indeed found the young 17 year old Human near the border of Sendria and Drannon, nearly dead on a battle field littered with corpses, burned wagons and broken weapons.
All were beyond the help of his healing abilities, but for some unknown reason, the young man lying in the blood and debris of a recent battle, with his skull split open, from the back of the left side of his head, running diagonally across the top of his head, down across his forehead and right eye, to the bottom of his right cheek bone, simply refused to die.
The Silent One immediately called upon Solanis with gestures and grunts, that anyone who might be looking on from close by or far away, would agree that the old Priest was dedicating the nearly lifeless form to a future life of full time service to Solanis.
After tending the wounds with his Priestly expertise, coaxing water down the young man's throat, followed by chewing medicinal herbs mixed with trail rations, before washing the unknown substance down the young man's throat to feed his battle racked body, the old Priest of Solanis began his long journey back to the secluded temple, carrying his slowly recovering burden in his arms, as if he were cradling a sack of precious herbs for the healing of the multitudes.
The Silent One kept the young man quartered with him in his own private room, where for the first month of his stay the young man could be heard murmuring incoherently in Drannese and Apanonese.
For the next year and a half the old Priest tended to the young man, allowing his fellow Priests of Solanis to speak of the ways of Solanis to his young charge, who was found to be suffering from some type of amnesia from the trauma of the head wound.
There were times at night, when his fellow Priests would walk the corridors of the temple, when they could have sworn they heard two voices coming from the room of the old Priest, carrying on deep conversations in Drannese and Apanonese.
Other nights, they could have sworn they heard an older voice, slowly speaking in Khord and Sylvari, followed by a younger voice repeating the words, then translating in both Drannese and Apanonese.
But such whispered conversations were dismissed from their thoughts as figments of their imaginations; as each passing day they watched the old Priest and his young charge communicate with gestures and facial expressions, as they carried out their duties together in the secluded temple.
The true identity of the young charge was never determined during his stay at the secluded temple, though many rumors were entertained by the Priests regarding his origin, but the young man still suffered amnesia from his brutal head wound.
One day the old Priest bid his fellow Priests of Solanis goodbye, as he and his young charge packed their bags for a long sojourn, as they headed south from the view of the secluded temple.
After 3 days of wandering in a south easterly direction, they changed course and headed north east, sharing many adventures and helping countless strangers, before arriving at their destination.
For the next 4 years, The Silent One and his young charge made their abode among the Priests of the Solanis sect of the Dawnbringers, sequestered somewhere between Khoralis, Sendria and the Northern Kingdom of Sylvaria.
It was here that the young charge began his training as a Dawnbringer, including having each hair of his head pulled out one by one, during a Special Dawnbringer Training for Toughness that only a select few were ever known to endure; but his full memory failed to return, robbing him of his birth name.
The name Vengador (the Spanish name for Avenger) was bequeathed upon him by the old Priest, with the approval of the other Dawnbringer Priests, of which The Silent One was an Elder Leader.
Vengador was trained as a Priest of Solanis of the sect of the Dawnbringers, for an as yet unknown purpose, but there were whispers of an ancient Dawnbringer Prophecy, that many of the Priests, including The Silent One, suspected was the foretelling of the coming of Vengador.
In the presence of a few of his fellow Dawnbringer Priests, the Priest of Solanis known to the outside world as The Silent One, openly conversed in the Drannese, Apanonese, Khord and Sylvari languages.
Vengador was well taught in the four languages, as well as the doctrines and practices of all the sects of Solanis, but was groomed first and foremost as a Cleric Warrior of the Dawnbringers.
Time passed quickly, as did the long life of The Silent One; so after his mentor was laid to rest and the time of mourning for The Silent One (who was more of a Father to Vengador than a mentor) had passed according to the custom of the Dawnbringers, it was time for Vengador to fulfill his calling in life.
Before departing, Vengador was gifted with a Heavy Mace (Oak Club with an Iron Ball at the end with the Holy Symbol of Solanis etched in Silver on the Iron Ball) as well as a Hand Axe (with the Holy Symbol of Solanis etched in Silver on both sides of the blade) and a Throwing Axe (with the Holy Symbol of Solanis etched in Silver on both sides of the blade).
The only possession that Vengador took with him as a remembrance of his deceased mentor, was the Silver Solanis Holy Symbol on a Silver Chain that The Silent One had worn around his neck.
Now it was Vengador who proudly displayed the Silver Solanis Holy Symbol on a Silver Chain around his own neck, as he endured the final ceremony of departure from his fellow Dawnbringer Priests.
He began adventuring in the Northern Kingdom of Sylvaria, utilizing his ability to speak in the Sylvari tongue to befriend and aid many of its inhabitants; where over a process of time, Vengador was gifted with a Sylvari Smoking Pipe, Sylvari Sweet Dreams Smoking Herbs, Sylvari War Sap, Sylvari War Sling, Sylvari War Boots, Sylvari War Pants, Sylvari War Shirt and a Sylvari War Tunic.
Rooting out and eliminating the threats of Zombies and Skeletons along the Sylvari, Sendria and Khord borders, he found his way into a company of Khord Clerics.
He became fast friends with the famous Kith-jora Cleric named ‘Loco' Fungihammer and fought at his side, when they set out by themselves to rescue dozens of Khord children that had been abducted by a brutal band of Slavers.
Having accompanied ‘Loco' to help escort the Khord children back deep inside the Mountains of Kharolis, the Cleric of Solanis was well received, because he openly conversed with the Khord populace in their own native tongue.
Vengador was awarded a special Emerald gem that the Khord Elders had braided into his beard, in honor of his selfless valor for helping rescue the children of a race that were not his own.
Additionally, he was gifted a pair of Khord War Gloves, laced with Granite particles; plus a specially tailored Khord War Hide, consisting of several layers of Leather and Padding, where the Khords crafted Granite Particles between the Padding and into the Leather layers for Extra Protection.
After several weeks of Khord celebrations, the two Cleric friends excused themselves from the company of the merry makers, to pursue their own Cleric duties and destinies.
‘Loco' persuaded Vengador to accompany him to his private quarters deep inside the ‘Caves of Madness', where the Cleric of Kith-jora introduced the Cleric of Solanis to the spiritual wonders of ‘Glittery Gold' mushrooms (or Shrooms as the Khords are wont to call them).
[Hallucinogenic Shrooms: ‘Glittery Gold' have long purple stems that branch into 5 tendrils with glittery gold specks on the small bulbous ends, about an inch in length and 1/4 inch stem and tendrils that obviously affect all 5 physical senses and more.]
The consumption of these ‘Glittery Gold' Shrooms proved to enhance Vengador's visions and perceptions, with many other rather unusual and extraordinary and interesting insights.
At the end of 5 months, each of the Clerics had separate visions that would change the course of their respective lives in Audalis.
Vengador made ready to return to the Kingdom of Ertain, where his vision had shown him a company of adventurers who would need the added talents of a Priest of the Dawnbringers, to aid them in a quest against an unknown darkness seeking to enslave the Kingdoms of Audalis.
As the Clerics of Kith-jora and Solanis parted company on good terms, each respecting the grim silence of the other in regards to what they saw in their respective visions, ‘Loco' gifted Vengador with a generous supply of ‘Glittery Gold' Shrooms (to keep his mind and senses occupied) for his help in rescuing the Khord children.
It was many months and numerous adventures later, before Vengador finally found those he had seen revealed in his Shroom Induced Vision, within the Caves of Madness.
