yeah, yeah

So you whiners are gonna make me add extra logic to this, aren't you?

Hrmph.

I'll say this - I'll put the realistic version up against any that you'll find anywhere. Except for the rare odd result that has too many consonants together, the names are absolutely top notch.

lie and statistics

For the record, I prefer quality over qualtity. That being said, I thought that some of you might find this interesting:

Our generator is now capable of producing just north of 51 THOUSAND different given names for khords (more males than females, but still, a nice amount to go around). If you factor in the eight thousand or so possible surnames, you get:

Brace yourself.

Better than Four. Hundred. MILLION. possible combinations.

I'll be fixing the logic that allows you to get "Axeaxe" or "Goblinforger" for a fantasy last name, but still, bad and/or goofy names aside, this is an absolute TON of possible names. I'm pretty sure that if you need a name, you can make one with this utility.

goofyforger

Nothing wrong with the odd goofy name. Goblinforger could have a story behind it. Orcmaker though.... probably exiled from the kingdom.

Axeaxe Thunderbeard is officially my most favorite name ever.

I think we have a winner…

“Axeaxe Thunderbeard” might need to make an appearance in my next AD&D game.

Think I'll pass on “Kok Goblinmaker"!

Dwarven Female Names

In regular play I have 2 Dwarven female characters, NO, they do not have beards. My first was Sif Axshaft-Thunderfist, she married the High Dwarven King's son. Later I had Killian Hammerhand

So I rolled a name to see what I would get. Tili Oathcarver. I can hear the story now. Famous Dwarven stonecarver was called by the King to to set in stone, a mighty oath he had made. It was carved into the dias of his throne. "I will suffer no Goblin Kind to live." As a result of the magnificent work by the stonecarver the King awarded him a new last name.

From then on a tradition started and all along the halls of the Mountain King Holt can be found thousands of oaths carved into the walls. Oathcarvers had life long jobs.

Oathcarver

I like it - nice story behind the name. +1 Applaud, DM! I personally think that Oathcarver is a perfectly fine - though unusal - result from the name generator.

Khord females *do* have beards, but every game world is different.

This is the least attractive conversation ever.

Unless you're a dwarf. ...In which case it's probably quite titillating...

truly

Its not how big their beards are, its how they use them.

BAH!

The only reason I can thing of why Khordish females have beards is to keep the males beards for scratching their face when they kiss. ANd for a person who cooks, metal smith, forger, or smelter, or any other who basically uses fire. Breads are damgerous. Hair catches fire very easily, and I never heard of a leather bread apron.

HEHEHE

Well dwarves are an inventive lot, so I'm sure they could invent beard aprons when doing risky stuff.

Regarding beards on female dwarves, I've never thought they would wear one out of any practical benefit. I tend to think they would do so because it was the height of dwarf fashion (those smelly, beardy-weirdys are a strange bunch).

there ya go

Fantasy surnames have been fixed. No more Axeaxe or Orcmaker. You'll get some repetition, since each sub-pool of fantasy names is relatively small, but it should be within acceptable bounds.

Oh, and we now have over 500 million possible combinations.
