"you don't understand how it is. First off, a guy will not step in between a friend and a girl, no matter the circumstance. I can't do that to him. So just drop it, alright? Go back to him. There's nothing left to say that hasn't already been said."

Donald finished his cigarette and threw it out a near window. He apologized to the Earth for burning her, and she forgave him.

"We'd never work together. And look at him. He needs something. I've got my drugs and my guitar. He deserves it. Cause the minute you asked me to stop smoking, we'd have major problems."

"I wouldn't ask you that." Dawn didn't know what else to say. But it came to her. "I wish I'd never met any of you."

Donald turned to walk off, but not before saying one last thing.

"That makes two of us. But we're already too deep in now to drop it all. I'll get over it eventually, but you're obviously enraptured by Adrian. So just go for him. He's still there, and you know it."

He walked off, heading towards his room. He had a change of heart though, and went outside to just sit with the Earth and take in her sights.

The food tasted dry in his mouth, the drink wasn't satisfying. He was just about to leave the dining hall, appetite unfulfilled, when he heard the thought. It was so stong.

'I wish I'd never met any of you.'

It hurt him, but he understood. She was so confused. He didn't want this for his Dawn. Was he better off leaving? Probabaly....

"They hate you." Dawn turned to look at her brother.
"I want Dad." She said and walked over. He picked her up.
"I'll bring you to him." Jacobi said. 'And kill you after.'

Donald was having conversations with Earth.

"What is it, child?"

"I feel weird. What is it I'm feeling? Guilt? No, it's more like pity."

"And why do you feel pity? Because of Dawn?"

"I pity her and Adrian. They can't help but share anything, they're locked in each others mind. They'll know any thoughts of infedelity the other has, and then a thought becomes something much larger. Adrian is vulnerable, and Dawn is sensitive. They're going to be hurting constantly."

"I know, child. Just don't let it bother you. Go to sleep."

Donald fell asleep under a bush, feeling as Earth was cradling him and keeping him safe.

The stare he had on was blank, and his mouth couldn't move. His mind wasn't even moving. He was alone again. Donlad hated him, Dawn lies to him, the werewolf couldn't be trusted, and now Edward mocked his love for Dawn.

He was alone. The first friends he'd had all his life had left him...gone in the blink of an eye. Only for a short hour had they known him.

He returned to Dawn's bedroom. The door was still unlocked. He barged in and collected his old clothes, then he looked longingly at the bed.

'Had that really been such a short time ago?', he found himself thinking. Tenderly he ran a hand across the smooth satin sheets, touching his forefinger to his lips....and tasting cherry once more.

He quietly turned around and eyed the bathroom before leaving. There was nothing left for him here, not even Alexander, the only person who'd ever really taken him in, was alive. His reflection was cast in the mirror on the bathroom wall, and he touched his hair. The streak of white was larger now. His old self was coming back now that his happiness had been sucked away.

When he left her room, clothes in hand, he couldn't help but think Dawn had lied about other things as well. Was Adrian her first lover? He doubted it, she had said hersleff she had slept with a man once before...but even then she could be lying. Her brother had called her a whore...was she hiding a past from Adrian.

Maybe she didn't even love Donald...maybe she loved Edward...or the werewolf...or perhaps she secretly hated all of them, and was only trying to get them to sleep with her so she could crush their lives soon after.

For the third time in the past hour, he felt the cold streak of a tear flow down his cheek, but he refused to cry anymore.

Jacobi decided to skip their father and brought her straight to the sacrificial circle.
Dawn noticed. "What are you doing?"
Jacobi smiled. "I'll kill you and use your soul to summon a demon."
Dawn screamed and he threw her in, beginning the ritual. She kept screaming.

He felt distress...pain...but it wasn't his own. He realized his mind must still be ones with Dawn.

He found her...the sacraficial circle. His love returned...Jacobi was with her...

'Dear God...', he thought.

In a flash he was gone.

He appeared in the room, right behind Jacobi.

"You filthy bastard. I told you to leave her alone!" Adrian still loved her, whether she returned the feeling or not.

Earth woke him. "You hate her now, but save her."

He got up, and had a good guess where Adrian was.

He barged into her room, and grabbed Adrian before he had a chance to ask why. He led him upstairs, where they saw Jacobi trying to summon a demon of some kind.

"Oh hell no."

Earth granted him new powers upon his return. He summoned trees to bound Jacobi still, shoving a branch down his throat, gagging him.

"Go to hell."

Jacobi kept going with the help of magic. Dawn started paling, got quieter. It was hard for her to scream but she did.

He lurched for Dawn, and tried to grab her, but some sort of magical barrier was in the way. She was screaming, not just out loud, but in his head too. The anger started building again. He could feel not only Fire, but Water, and Air and Earth inside him...this was far enough. He looked over to where Jacobi was, gagged by the branches of the tree, and he punched him. As he did, thorns grew out, perverting the tree. The thorn cut into his body, and he tried to yell, but as he opened his mouth, throns flew into them to.

"Lower the barrier you sick bastard!"

'No!' He laughed.
Dawn started to stop. Her body turned white, barely moving.

He didn't know where Edwrd was, so this had to get finished quick. he threw all his strength into the Earth, and she grew the thorns. They were cutting through his organs, causing extreme pain. As his strength failed, the barrier was broken. Donald then made the tree grow more, ripping through his body, raining blood from where he was suspended. He laid limp, with a tree growing through his body and thorns sticking from his body.

Now he was expelled for sure. He just killed the headmaster's son.

"YES!"

The energy was gone. The rooms walls flew outward, the circle started to crumble...the barrier was gone.

He dove in and grabbed Dawn...pumping her pull of energy. His own was being sucked away from him. He was dying to save her. A fitting end.
