You are safe Tann
So will be sending Tann some info to get his character started soon. BTW - What is your character's full name?
I have not heard from Blammm in awhile and he has not responded to any of my PM's. If I don't hear from him soon, I may look for someone to take over Asher's character. It would be a shame because Blammm really breathed life into the Kid archtype.
So if you are out there Blammm, let me know if you are in or out. I am determined to reach the end of this module.

Yep! I'm here! Sorta... I have really one more crazy week (It's my wife's 30th birthday this weekend, and I'm planning a big surprise thingie) So... by October, I'm looking to come in.
Thanks! Sorry for the delay...

Thoughts
I would like to get some idea of how you wish to run the blockade. I would like to do the post this weekend so please sound off.
As Roc approaches the three Alliance ships, you will see a Firefly class ship that is spacedocked to the patrol ship. As you get closer, the dock is released at the firefly starts to go on its way to the planet.
Now there are any number of ways to get past the blackade. Some suggestions are:
Silent running, drift through a hole in their patrol pattern and pray. (FORMIDABLE)
Shadow the other Firefly, using it as a shield to the sensor sweeps (a Higher level of FORMIDABLE)
Adjust your pulse beacon to give off the same code as an alliance patrol ship and fool them (INCREDIBLE)
Do nothing, and hope you can bluff your way pass and hope they won't search your ship (RIDICULOUS)
this is not the complete list, and I am ope to suggestions, heck I'll even tell you what the difficulty of any of your choices is before you do it.
For the record, Sam piloting Roc is a skill roll of d12+d2+d10+d10 (pilot+born behind wheel+agility+Roc's agility). FORMIDABLE is a 15-17, INCREDIBLE is 23-26 and RIDICULOUS needs 27-30. So Sam does have the capacity to fly, but adjusting electronics or bluffing is an entirely different set of skills.

I'll go with...
Options A or B sound best out of the bunch as the rely on what Sam is good at, yes?
And while Option A looks easier, I think I like option B better. The thought of just floating through space... not a very good thought.
Also... let us remember well that we are currently without a mechanic. Ash can do some minor repairs, but nothing like Kora could.
So... my vote is for "shadow the other firefly" with the additional words of "Go, Sam, go!"

Me too...
...if it's available, I believe Sam would likely be more prone to shadow the other firefly (or any other debris) in hopes of "humpin' wit' th' sensor sweeps' should the purple bellies decide ta get all looky-loo. Still wanna keep ship systems to a minimum, I think, in order to keep a low 'EM profile' or whatever, but still want to have manuevering thrusters available and the main drive ready to fire up if things get ugly. Per my post, I also don't think it'd be a bad idea to load a decoy missile or two in the "dump" bay in the even that we do get pinged and need to tear off in a rush... I figure if that happens, we drop the dekes as we're firing up the engines and, as they're shooting off it whatever directions they're going, we skin out the other way.
Need more detail than that?

Before we make a call...
I hate to put the breaks on, but I have a couple of questions before I offer up my opinion:
1. The crew has some history together, so I'd imagine Wyatt would know which was the most likely to do well in the Engine Room now that Kora's gone. So, who is it?
2. Does ridin' the shadow of the other Firefly require any system changes? Any electrical modifications? For that matter, does it require any mechanical alterations?
3. Can Wyatt offer Dash some assistance with the piloting if necessary? He's no slouch himself you know. Anything to better secure the success of such a maneuver, you know?
I agree--pending answers to these questions--that shadowing the other firefly is the best option, but it also seems a little too perfect, and Wyatt is still a very superstitious person. He's not likely to give the order until he's sure the stars are aligned (or at least knocked on wood).

We have answers! And t-shirts!
1. Asher. The kid has more skills in the engine room than he admits to, so get his ass in the can.
2. No mods required. I assume that you would have the running silent adjustments down pat by now, in fact Kora probably would have wired them into a single switch in the cockpit. As to shadowing, that is pure piloting and balls -which Dash has by the bucketful.
3. Yes you can help but not directly. Acting as co-pilot is an indirect action so you can help but I will roll your skills roll separately from Dash and if he fails, I move to yours. If you succeed, then you are fine, if you fail then ... well then the chips fall where they may.
Hope that helps. I am ope to any other suggestions as well. You don't only have to take my options. Especially since y'all seem to be a mite twitchy about the GM's motives.
Why do all my players become so paranoid, I don't know.

I don't have...
Not a lot of time right now but didn't want to hold things up.
Asher'd be in the engine room then, and the move's a go.

1 down
I have two more posts to write. One involves the conversation between Trish and Willow. The other is to bring your new mechanic into play. However, those involved in the first post should feel free to post and react, fill in conversation and whatever else suits you.

Fakin' it...
Stepping into someone else's shoes, as it were, by landing on that pad isn't something Dash is really 'in to'... to many variables to consider and too many things to possibly get humped up for him to keep the paranoia at bay... Faking a crash similar to the one he faked to escape the Alliance and 'kill Morgan Trent' might be a valid option in his mind, at this point. The kid's got plenty of grenades stored away that could be used to add the fireworks... a little fancy flying, sputtering the engines, and pumping some smoke and such through the 'exhaust' might help with convincing the locals that the ship has problems as it passes over, etc... just a thought.

Wha?
ummm...we're victims of a case of mistaken identity and while we may not be the ones they are all excited about, we DO have something they want...the ice, remember?
Why would we fake a crash to avoid landing?? Willow's going to suggest she be the first one off the ship to greet the crowd. Chances are that no one will even see the rest of ya
Maybe Dash should go see the doc about that "galloping paranoia" you got there...she probably has an ointment that can clear it up in no time!

That's Dash...
...bein' twitchy, is all.
He just skimmed past the Purple Bellies, clenchin' his buttocks once he thought they was had, and considerin' the data he got from Tink, he ain't feelin on the upside of skittish just yet...

delays
Had a busy weekend of baby shower, home renos and halloween prep. I hope to dedicate myself to posting to all my games this evening. Sorry for the delay.
I imagine when William is born there will be a significant delay in the game until I can establish a routine. He is due Nov. 21st.
