Nope, The Gnome in front.....

The Gnome has natural abilities underground and would have the best sences of things. His vision would be best and matched to knowing depth and direction underground he would be the best leader. Now Amur would be good next to check for secret doors then Crow to protect.

Elve and half-elve are best in the forest or at night.
It was stated by Hammer that half-elves had inhanced sight in the torch lihgt, so keep them to the egdes of light.

Keep the humans in the light, but don't bunch up the fighters, let the healer carry the torches spacing the fighter so they can see to attack if needed.

I disagree

Yeah Gnomes are very good underground that's Y he is second. However if he trips a trap not gonna matter much who was in front as we will be, or at least a good portion of us, DEAD.

Thief always in front Ody just think Ulthok and go from there

A Chance....

The rogue does have a +2 to find traps. So him first is ok. The Gnome has higher dex and intel so he should be better at disarming.

But the Elves don't have infravision, they have Twilight Vision:
TWILIGHT VISION: Even under starlight, moonlight or torchlight, elves have exceedingly good vision. They can distinguish color and detail under these conditions for up to one mile but only if they are outside.
So they need some light.

Ok my bad

Ok I just now noticed that on my character sheet so just take my marching order suggestion and forget it. Instead I'll play rear guard and be last in line.

Little Hint

Only Gnomes and Dwarves have Dark Vision to see in the total dark and Mylos is a Bard (he and Elyra have an important function in this phase of the adventure, as does Amur for the same reason!)

There is No Dwarf among the Seekers as Dagger was back at the beach defense the last the Seekers saw him!

Elves and Half Elves with Elven Lineage have the Enhanced Vision from the torch light, which includes Crow and Elyra (Ranger and Bard); while Amur is a Rogue with the Twilight Vision and Areldor is an Illusionist with Human Lineage, so No Twilight Vision for him!

Both Crow and Amur have +2 to find traps as a Ranger and a Rogue with their lineage; but the Ranger is more suited to finding Traps in a wilderness setting (which this cavern is not technically!) and the Rogue does have the ability to detect Traps!

Little Hint Before removing the rubble, the Seekers can tell that the step is wide enough for 2 characters (maybe 3) but will have a clearer understanding when the rubble is moved to expose the Step and the Seekers proceed to the point where I am able to Post the Map!

Out In Front......

I like Crow up front, he's favorite Meat Shield. And now that we know he has a +2 (missed that) to find traps also, all the more reason.

If we can go 3 across then the rogue, ranger and Gnome can link arms and sing "Off To See The Wizard."

Nope sorry

That +2 is only in woods and as I am a woodsy kinda guy I'll stay out of everyone's way in the back.

Always need a good rear guard they are almost as important as point men.

Hey Tann

All Rangers get a +2 in the Woods; however, you also get a +2 to find Traps and a +2 move silently as a Ranger Modifier for Elf Race!

Therefore, I will allow the +4 combination in the Woods, while allowing a +2 elsewhere for Elf Racial Traits Attribute Modifier!

There You Are.....

+2's for both Crow and Amur. So there we have the front 3 guards, Larry, Curly and Crow.

2 X 2

So now that we know there is room on the steps how about?

Amur-Thief-Half-Elf: +2 with traps & Twilight Vision
Crow-Ranger-Elf: +2 with traps,Crow is armed with two melee weapons and a long bow. Twilight Vision

Willem-Fighter-Human: More melee support
Tohmas-Druid-Human: Torch

Jaufre-Paladin-Human: Can provide melee support and Turn Undead if needed
Bartimeous -Cleric-Human: Torch, Primary healer centralized to help all members of party as needed. Turn Undead to forward or rear.

Areldor-Mage-Half-Elf: Lamp, Rear magical support. Twilight Vision
Vincent-Knight-Human: Rear melee support

Mylos-Bard-Gnome: Darkvision to watch the rear.( no torch light that way)
Elyra-Bard-Elf: Rear guard. Carries two melee weapons, short bow and has magic. Twilight Vision

Put the hero's up front!

Hey Ody

In C&C the Bards do not have magic spells!

But the Gnome Bard has a few spells because of his Gnome Race Traits!

Your Order is pretty well thought out, plus can get the Seekers to the position where I can post the Map!

Torches....

So Tohmas will search around and find some longish pieces. Wraps rope and bandages securing them and then coating them with the wax to make it burn slow. The rope could stick out the top like a wick.
