Mac

I am guessing Macs last selfless act? If so there might be a small fight as to how we leave his body. Alaster is one for burying him he cannot stand leaving him the way he is just to be eaten by anything left in the general area. I am hoping this is the one thing that padre hand cannon over there will agree with Alaster upon. Steve is the one i think will have a problem with it. At any rate can't wait to see the combat post hope we all survive

If...

...any of the rest of us live through this one and Mac does buy the farm, I doubt there will be any "problem"...

Alaster wants to argue, stay behind and bury Mac, that's cool... the rest of us will be getting the heck outta here... good luck digging through all that concrete and asphalt without drawing any undead attention... mind if I take that shotgun and give it to someone else? You'll probably get munched trying to bury poor Ol' Mac, anyway.

Besides, Mac's not dead (yet)... just passed out with an axe in his chest...

Seriously... I'd recommend that Alaster get over his 'argumentative' thing... or it may not be the zombies that end up getting him.

Point of order

(lol I love saying that)

Check my post again, the axe dislodged after the fall (saved everyone the trouble of pulling it out). Sure the axe didn't hit any vital organ, but could have hit the aorta and the axe was plugging the breach, but with it gone, as olan put it, loss of blood could be a problem.

Oh well, I may have carried the mortal wound bit a little too far, or maybe not far enough, but I'm getting a backup character worked up for just in case. One of my characters will be blowing away a zombie!

well

Whew, lots to wade through.

Sunow: Jake went out on the same day as your post (Thursday)... so you didn't miss much, I suppose. Note that I did ask you to PM me if you wanted back in the game, which you have not done. I'll put you on the list for replacement characters, but check your PMs.

Mac: whew! I had specifically posted that Mac was neither dead nor fully incapacitated; he could have continued to fight. I understand (and even applaud) the roleplay reasons behind Tiamat's last post, but please understand, you just hurt Mac's chances of survival.

I had left the axe lodged in Mac for a reason - to minimize blood loss. I figured that it could be removed by one of the others when there was time to treat the wound. At first, I considered editing Tiamat's post, since it technically was a breach of the player/GM contract - you guys post intentions, I post results. However, I would have allowed Mac to pull the axe out himself while moving to the back of the store, anyway, so I'm going to let the post stand, as is. Mac is now unconscious until further notice.

Emily and Amber: removal of the axe from Mac's chest has started the bleeding in earnest. If he doesn't get at least a field dressing, he will bleed out (read: die) right here in the hardware store.

I've gotta admit, the Mac situation is going to make this fight even harder than I had planned for it to be. Yowza.

Also, a footnote: not only am I a player killing GM, I apparently possess the power to make people wet themselves... that makes two in one game. Am I awesome, or what?

Ah... and a second footnote: why the insistance on a ritual (burial) in this situation, from a professed atheist?

Game Question

About how long is the gash on Mac? Just trying to figure out what the appropriate medical supplies to use out of Amber's bag when/if she ever makes it to him.

gash?

About the length of an axe head - several inches. Basically, it is a straight entrance wound; axe head punches in, flesh goes "squelch". No other real cutting involved.

Also: very cool link!

;)

I mentioned I was a Borden enthusiast right? I kind of understand hatchet/axe wounds... but they can vary depending on the length of the axe head and how they hit so I just wanted to verify before I worked up a 'treatment plan'

Think I have something in mind though.

And I'll give King the credit he deserves for helping me pick out the correct items back at the drug store

Thanks Boss!! Post in the works btw.

Ohhh...

And sorry Mac, I know you don't have the doc with the best intentions... nothing personal though.

We've all been watching Amber degrade into her current fatalistic state for awhile now.

wow

Now THAT, my friend, is a battle dressing.

Just funny considering all of the medical supplies that people were collecting in the drug store.

I've done some obligatory medical knowledge checks for Emily and Amber. Though anyone with common sense could probably tell this already, it's quite clear that Mac's long term survival is going to require some serious stitching, and he'll almost certainly need some of those antibiotics that Emily is carrying.

Of course, this all assumes that he doesn't bleed to death in combat, or that you don't all die in it.

Well...

I figured the gauze she had was probably not sufficient enough.

And yeah... I had just read Gerald's Game. She uses pads in the book, and that was the reason I had Amber pick them up.

Glad I got to use them so quickly. They are super absorbent.

I'm actually debating if Amber would be willing to 'share' some of her 'candy' with him...

If the zombies don't kill him she just might.

heh

No, I am well aware that pads would be excellent makeshift bandages. Others (Mac and Emily, I believe) did pick up better bandaging materials than plain gauze, but Amber has to go with what she's got, I understand that.

Good post.

O_O

Wow pads? Jeez that was like the smartest field dressing i have ever read of. Ok well i havent read it yet but from what i heard... wow...

It might actually not matter anymore since Mac has the field dressing and all but it wasnt a ritual burial that had mr. Atheist with his panties in a bunch. It was mostly the disregard for life that would have gotten him. And the fact that this was one of the men who he had known in his possibly lastdays on Earth. Come on Eol the survivalist thing to do would have been to leave the body. but what would he really do in this situation there has to be some moral decency inside him no matter how small the voice may seem saying dont let the zombies eat his body. Now I am thinking through all the outcomes of every idea. I actually figure out three things Alaster would or could do before every post and roll a four sided dice to choose which I do.
