Hornsilver Mine - Topside, Regina, Frisco, Day Nine 12:15 am Planet Time
Ash takes the lead and heads down into the old shaft of the mine with Wolf close behind. There is no way to climb down the rebar fitted safety ladders with weapons in hand so they can only hope that someone is not waiting for them down below, or this will be a short trip and a long fall.
(I am assuming you are going quiet and with no lighting)
As the two are heading downwards, after about 40 feet they hear a voice. The shaft causes the echoes to bounce oddly and it seems like the voices are right next to you when you know they must be below. One voice is easily recognized, that of the Luke Pearson. The other one is one of the Mustard boys, and you know there is only one left.
“They went down boss?”
“Yep. Keep your voice down kid.”
“Why? We’s alone ain’t we?”
“We got company. I can smell Tong on the air. They are looking for me no doubt.”
“What you want me to do boss?”
“Set up here, good and tight. Make sure you got cover, don’t be cocky either. As soon as they come out, take the men out. The Captain first, because he’s the most dangerous.”
“And the ladies?”
“”We’ll deal with the later. At our leisure. I am going to hunt me some tong. Click twice on the comm. When you see the door open. And remember kid – this place ain’t stable so use the suppressors and no grenades nor flashbangs or you will be in a world of hurt and we won’t get anything out of here but a cold dark death.”
“Okay boss.”

Brigit laughed dismissively, “Don’t be fooled by the trappings boys. This is all smoke and mirrors to keep us away. Someone went to great length to hide this treasure and people don’t do that for chump change.”
The red-haired school marm approached the closest coffin without hesitant and flipped the metal seal upwards. The lock released with a loud gasp of compressed air. “You two boys want to make yourself useful and lift this lid? Or do us women have to do all the heavy lifting?”

Bring A Knife To A Gunfight.................
They were about 40 feet down the shaft when voices from below echoed oddly round them. It was clearly Luke and Winnie’s last brother. Ash could clearly hear them plan the ambush of their friends.
Anger flushed through the Kid as he continued to descend. Pausing he slipped a hand over a flashbang. He knew a concussion blast would catch both those Huen Dahn off guard and knock them cold.
As he started to lift the grenade he hear Luke warn his lackey,“And remember kid – this place ain’t stable so use the suppressors and no grenades nor flashbangs or you will be in a world of hurt and we won’t get anything out of here but a cold dark death.”
“Ta Ma Duh”, Ash whispered as he secured the grenade back in its place. But they also mentioned suppressor and the kid didn’t use um. Looks like hand to hand,Asher thought and a smile smirked across his face. Time to show your metal and that’s a knife.
With stealth and determination Ash continued down.

No clue what to really do
As Wolf followed Ash down the rebar fitted safety ladders both Rocinante crewman suddenly heard two voices attempting to be quiet somewhere below them. Stopping in their downward descent they paused to listen.
With Ash below him and the ability to draw a weapon dangerous Wolf looked to the gunfighter for directions. Ash seemingly coming to a decssion at first looked to be pulling a flashbang grenade from a pocket but upon hearing, what was clearly Luke Pearson’s voice, warning against such an act instead drew a knife. However Wolf, short of attempting to hold one of his machine pistols or one of his combat knives by his teeth in his mouth had no weapon available to him. Trying to get Ash’s attention he attempted to sign to him to that he was at a loss of what to do next though he wished for his roll of patched tape, left behind with his other gear.
With no way to know exactly where the voices were coming from for the moment all Wolf could do was follow Ash down the ladder and hope for the best..................

Wyatt gave her a flat-iron stare before turning to Willow and raising his eyebrows in askance. She was the "boss" after all, and he didn't want to blow that ruse. Receiving the approval, he glanced around a bit to make sure they weren't going to be ambushed the moment he became a general laborer. Holstering the shotgun across his back, Capt. Sung stepped up to the plate.
Sam wasn't nearly so willing to holster his weapons. It took a very purposeful glare from Willow and a slight frown from Wyatt before the pilot put dropped the weapons in their holster and, grumbling under his breath, moved down to provide assistance.
"If I git shot in the back," Sam growled in a low voice. "I'm gonna haunt you fer sure..."

Sill breathing
Willow watched the tension build in Sam, and to a lesser degree, In Wyatt, and she wasn't sure how much more she could play the game without Sam losing what little control he had left. Brigitte's response about the trappings being all smoke and mirrors didn't settle them any, and both were reluctant to move towards the seeming tombs.
Wyatt flicked his eyes at Brigitte contemptuously before turning his basilisk stare on Willow, one eyebrow cocked. She shivered, and hoped he'd forgive her cavalier treatment later. "Go on, boys, " she huffed carelessly," Don't be afraid of a bit of a show. Caves aren't airtight, whatever was in those crates would have deteriorated long ago. Let's get this moving along. "
As both men reluctantly moved forward, Sam muttered "If I git shot in the back.."I'm gonna haunt you fer sure..." .
"No worries about that, Sam, "Willow responded her voice firm," I may need you to open the lids, but I am not having both of you unarmed and carrying the treasure. We'll have Brigitte walk out first, as a show of good faith, carrying as much as she wants. We can follow, with both of you armed and ready. Once we know the way's clear, we can always come back. Right, Brigitte?"

Here we go
Hornsilver Mine - Secret Room, Regina, Frisco, Day Nine 12:20 am Planet Time
Wyatt and Sam lifted the lid up and moved it to the side. The lid is heavy, very heavy and it takes some effort for the boys to lift it up and put it down without letting it drop and crash. Once it is done, all four of you look at what awaits you inside.
There is a second layer inside the sarcophagi, and it appears to be made of lead. The lid within is smooth with no handhold except a single latch on the one side with a pull lever. Theis lever would normally be used to hold a vacuum seal within, thus but pulling you break the seal and let air in to lift the lid. The lever has been welded shut. Embossed on the lid are the images of hundreds of skulls and an inscription "Rung Tse Fwo Tzoo Bao Yo Wuo Muhu" (Merciful Buddah protect us).
"That looks pretty gorram airtight to me...." Sam says with a whistle and steps back from the coffin. "Don't know about all you but I'm not feeling to keen on this here treasure anymore."
Brigit laughed, "don't worry lover, I got this one covered." and she hikes up her skirt to pull a 6 inch long strip of tape from her thigh clip. Without waiting for approval, she puts the tape across the sealed lever and pulls off the backing. "Shield your eyes Sugarbears!" She calls as she turns her head from the casket. The tape glows brightly for a second and then flared up with a incandescent flash. Where there was a lever before there is now a melted hole in the lid. There is a sound, of a mechanism release and the lid lifts up on its own.
Beneath the lead lid is huge pile of platinum bars, coins and ingots. They are stacked neatly in the bottom of the sarcophagi, waiting to be had. Except that there is a third lid of glass covering the loot. The melted lead has pooled and started to hardened on the glass but did not melt through. Etched in the glass is "Tze Sh'unTze Mieh" (Leave one to his own fate).
Willow spots something tucked with the wall of the glass lid and the lead box. She sees it is a data disk, marked with independence markings.
Brigit curses like a freighter driver on a Kessel run. "Another lid? Just wasting our time! Sam! Shoot the glass and it will shatter. Or we can take that first lid you boys lifted off and drop it on the glass. Look at the platinum! We are rich! What are you waiting for?"
Hornsilver Mine - Old Shaft, Regina, Frisco, Day Nine 12:20 am Planet Time
Ash and Wolf continue down the shaft as quietly as they could but every groan of the rebar ladder, every step on the ladders and every breath they took seemed like a brass band playing "I'm here" as loud as can be. They reached the edge of the old shaft and waited a second. Below them, there seemed to be a circular metal plate in the floor, cleaner than anything in a mine should be unless someone or something just wiped it clean. Doesn't take a genius for both of them to realize it is a doorway down to something and it has been opened recently.
"Winnie! You there! Come on girl! Answer me" A voice whispers in the shaft below along with the keying of a mike. "Darryl? Douglas? You boys there?" *Click**Click**Click**Click* "Stupid gorram thing is broken."
The last Mustard brother waits in the dark, and if either Wolf or Ash were in the position the bet, they be betting he is watching the door below them, waiting for it to open - which was incidentally where they would land too. Just as they start to think about plan or diversion though, the heard the sounds of gunfire. Hard to say where from the echoes in the mind, but far enough away.
"Sheriff! Sheriff! You okay! You need Backup!?" The brother says loudly into his comm set and you hear him getting up and moving. This could be your best and only chance....

A Bright Idea.......................
Ash clung to end of ladder and heard the last of the deputy trying find brothers and sister. The Yi Dwei DaBuen Chuo Roh will be looking for a long time unless he joins them soon.
Gun shots rang out from down the tunnel and Ash knew it was time to act. Looking up he saw Wolf waiting for him. Ideas were running short . He remember the satchel Andrew had giving them. A quick hand search brought a smile to the Kid’s face. He waved Wolf to come down and join him. As the mechanic made his way down Ash pulled a nifty wire wrapped form the bag. “Ya gotta love that old guy”, Ash breathed as he pull a bundle of LEDs and fiberoptic cabling wrapped around a capacitor designed to temporarily blind an opponent, an Optical bomb.
When Wolf joined him he held it and smiled wickedly. Whispering he said, “Cover your eyes, after it goes off I’ll drop and roll right then drop and roll left. First one to him takes him out.”
Twisting on the ladder he armed the devise and hurled it at cleared hatch below him. He was sure that the stupid deputy would be staring hard at the hatch waiting for it to open. The darkness in the tunnel would just make bomb more effective. As the bomb hit the hatch Ash squeezed his eyes shut and cover his face with his arm. The bomb hit the hatch and burst into a brilliant, flash of white light. Even through his precautions the Kid could still sense the light. The darkness returned in an instant. TheKid tapped Wolf on the leg and dropped to the hatch rolling and tumbling as he hit the ground.
(O.O.C., Assuming the bomb blinded the deputy.)
Seeing the deputy, Ash pulled his knife and went on the attack, this guy was about to join his brothers.
(Edited to clearify the Optical bomb.)

Hornsilver Mine - Secret Room, Regina, Frisco, Day Nine 12:20 am Planet Time
Wyatt took a deep breath and moved over to the side of the sarcophagus with Sam right on his heels. Setting themselves up on opposite sides, Sung gave a nod and the two men heaved the heavy lid from its rest with no small amount of effort. Taking a step back, Wyatt peered expressionlessly at the contents of the coffin while Sam frowns before quickly glancing about to make sure the noise they’d made hadn’t disturbed the shadows.
"That looks pretty gorram airtight to me...." Sam says with a whistle and steps back from the coffin. "Don't know about all you but I'm not feeling too keen on this here treasure anymore."
Brigit laughed, "don't worry lover, I got this one covered."
Hiking up her skirt the school marm pulled a 6-inch long strip of tape from her thigh clip. Without waiting for approval, she puts the tape across the sealed lever and pulls off the backing.
"Shield your eyes, Sugarbears!" She calls as she turns her head from the casket. Though closing his eyes on this demon woman was the last thing Wyatt wanted to do, he had immediately recognized the tape and didn’t really need the instruction. Instinctively, his hand dropped to the hilt of his Colt as he took a cautious step back. Sam followed suit, but he had less trouble turning his gaze from Bridgette as her calling him “lover” reminded him of just how far his labido had made him sink this time. The glow of the tape penetrated Wyatt’s eyelids enough to cause him to furrow his brow, followed by a desire to sneeze as the odor of phosphorus gas tickled his nostrils. Even with his eyes having been shut while the tape performed its job, when Captain Sung opened his eyes his lids were followed by brief tracers. Blinking the annoying lights away, he quickly checked to make sure Bridgette wasn’t doing anything sneaky before resting his gaze once again on the contents of the box. Where there was a lever before there is now a melted hole in the lid. There is a sound, of a mechanism release and the lid lifts up on its own.
Beneath the lead lid is a huge pile of platinum bars, coins and ingots.
“Well, woman,” Sam sniffed indignantly. “That ain’t just glass, I’d imagine. So shootin’ it won’t do a gorram thing, but possibly bring this whole place down on our heads and maybe ricochet the round about a bit before embedding itself in one of our brainpans.”
Wyatt’s head dropped a couple of millimeters as he acknowledged Sams assessment. Still playing in character he glanced at Willow and said, “It’s likely Sam’s right, Miss Willow. I don’t see no reason why them that had this loot would cover it up with no ordinary glass. Might as well leave a note saying the same thing as what’s etched on there. We go shootin’ it an’ we’re like to cause a cave in as not...even the whole dead-in-the-head brainpan scenario Sam minced out just now. An’ if’n it is just glass a bullet is like taking a hammer t’ a porcelain vase t’ repair it. It might put a hole clean through an’ weaken its integrity, but I don’t see it shatterin’ like in those holo-vids. ‘Course, we could pound on it with a hammer if’n we had one t’ test its strength...but I’m not exactly keen on the idea of makin’ a lot o’ noise an’ drawing that sick-minded devil down on us while we’re all giddy and prancin’ about like rich fools either.”
Staring at that much wealth, Wyatt had to admit that he could do an awful lot of good being that rich. Rocinante would never have to ride out another drought with second-hand parts; Willow would have all the best equipment...He suddenly wondered if anyone would want to stay aboard once they were rich. What was the point of riding through the Black when one could afford all sorts of luxuries? That thought pulled him from his grand thoughts long enough to allow his superstitions to play around a bit.
“Tze Sh'unTze Mieh,” he muttered under his breath. The hackles on the back of his neck immediately rose up and danced a little jig. “Miss Willow. There might be more t’ this than still meets the eye. People don’t mark crates with this much hoodoo jus’ t’ scare off the locals.”
“Normally,” Sam added in a dry tone. “I’d be all about disagreein’ with Wyatt and saying somethin’ like, ‘Break this Hwen Dan thing open and let’s each take a turn rollin’ around nakkid on the bricks.’ But seein’ how this thing’s been buried fer so gorram long, and we’re neck deep in back-stabbin’ Go shi...I’m thinkin’ we need to proceed with caution.”

Follow the Leader
As Wolf clung to the rings of the old rusted ladder he listened as the last Mustard brother talked to the ex-deputy and then shots rang out. Seeing Ash motioning him closer he moved into hearing.
“Cover your eyes, after it goes off I’ll drop and roll right, then you drop and roll left. First one to him takes him out.”
“Right”
Left hand holding a rung, his right arm reached back and grabbed the sawed off shotgun holstered there. With it’s cluster round loaded if Ash didn’t get him first or the homemade flash bang failed, Wolf knew he stood a better chance of hitting the Mustard brother with a wide spread then a single bullet.
All that was left was to cover his eyes and once the bomb went off, drop, roll left, and if clear get a shot off.

Late as usual
Willow didn't like the sight of the glass (if glass was indeed what it was) nor did she like the warning. The elderly Tong had to have known what his key would unlock, and he left the treasure down here for years.
Sam and Brigit were arguing about breaking the glass and Willow had to intervene before Sam got twitchy enough to shoot Brigit or the glass.
"Sam!" Willow called crisply, "Walk away, my pet and don't rile Miss Brigit up any more. Buddha only knows whatever else she may have hidden away under those skirts. And you, my pretend schoolmarm, " Willow turned her imperious gaze on the redhead," even a fake teacher should be smarter than breaking the seal on something before you check it out. Amateurs! I work with amateurs!"
As she spoke, Willow rummaged in the bag slung across her body, not taking her eyes of Brigit but knowing every item by touch. She pulled out a small box that she thumbed to life, pulling a small wand from a slot in the side of the box (Sam and Wyatt would recognize the toxin analyzer she'd insisted on buying the first time the crew had been even close to flush with cash). She moved the wand around slowly, watching the readout as she did so. Lowering the wand into the casket to wave it along the edges of the glass, she muttered to Brigit, but seemingly to herself.
"Don't want to be breaking anything without at least a clue of what's in there. Maybe a trace was left on this side of the glass when it was sealed."
She leaned in with both hands held before her as if to sweep further inside the sarcophagus, allowing her to sweep up the datadisk in the hand with the analyzer box.

I saw a data card reader plugged into the walk over there. might have some juice left.”
Amateurs! "Don't want to be breaking anything without at least a clue of what's in there. Maybe a trace was left on this side of the glass when it was sealed." She leaned in with both hands held before her as if to sweep further inside the sarcophagus, allowing her to sweep up the datadisk in the hand with the analyzer box.
She watched the of the analyser as she swung it back and forth across the glass cover. Nothing was detected for the first few sweeps but just as Willow was about to declare it safe there was a blip. Then there was another. The scanner was picking up a viral pathogen , trace amounts on the side of the case where it held down the corners. The spinning circle showing the analyzer working seemed to spin and spin forever before it put out in red lettering "Warning: Surface Contamination. Virus Unknown. 76% genetic similarity to Influenza 4167 - Bio-weapon" in both english and mandarin.
(assuming you tell everyone in the room that the money is contaminated)
Brigit goes red in the face, "What! No! Ten years chasing down this score and you tell me it's contaminated? No! No gorram way! it's a trick. You want it all for yourselves don't you!? That bastard Benny put you up to this? I'll be dammed if I let some greenhorn like you steal it from me now. It's mine! I earned it and I'm the only one who'll be walking out with it!" She looks around the room and then steps back.
Suddenly there is a huge bang form the corridor to this room as if something just fell on the hatchway. then you hear the muffle sound of gunfire - like a shotgun.
Brigit take the distraction runs over to a crate nearby where a crowbar is resting. "Here! I'll show you." she says as she grabs the crowbar and heads towards the coffin with the intent to smash open the glass.
Hornsilver Mine - Old Shaft, Regina, Frisco, Day Nine 12:25 am Planet Time
Ash dropped the optical bomb on the hatch and it lights up like a yuletide tree on fire. Both Wolf and Ash then drop to the ground, rolling to the left and right as they do.
The Mustard boy is out from his cover and around the corner of the second drift so the bomb didn't hurt him. Yet he has to come running to see what is happening as he was heading down the second drift. He fires two shots at Wolf as best he can with the rifle but his shots are two high of the mark. Wolf risks a shotgun blast and the wide spread wings the deputy on the right shoulder. Ash moves quickly with knife drawn, but a wild swing of the rifle end clips him in knee as Mustard scrambles back in pain. Ash rolls and thrusts with his knife, cutting deep into the gut. With a howl, Mustard kicks Ash in his injury knee and raises the rifle like a club with intention of beating Asher to death with the firearm.
Wolf spares no time as he rushes forward to save his friend and with a close range shot to the head, drops the last deputy. The rifle falls from his dead grip and his body shuffles off its mortal coil.
The shotgun blast echoes throughout the shaft and dirt falls from the ceiling, timbers creek and a few rocks shift from the noise. Pearson wasn't lying, this place is unstable. Luckily it settles down quickly but firing off the shotgun in here could be very dangerous.

A Flash In The Brain Pan................
Ash hit the floor and rolled out of instinct. He thought the deputy might start to shoot blind after the flash ruined his sight. He knew a moving target would be harder to track, but the kid’s luck was just staying with him, the deputy had left his post to go around the corner and the flash did nothing but attract his attention back the hatch.
As Wolf dropped into the mine shaft the Mustard brother started to shoot wildly. Not being able to raise his rifle quickly enough to aim his shots missing. Wolf on the other hand had his shotgun ready and his first shoot caught the deputy in the shoulder.
Seeing an opportunity, Ash charges with knife drawn. The deputy got in a lucky hit as he swung the rifle at Ash with his good arm. The gun caught the kid in the knee, knocking him slightly off his attack. But the kid was still able plant his combat knife deep in the deputies stomach, opening a gushing bully wound.
Raging in pain and shock the last of brothers kicked out, slamming his boot into the knee he had hit with the rifle butt. Ash dropped to the shift floor. Hollering in fury the deputy attempted to smash in the kid’s skull using the rifle as a club, Wolf stepped up, shotgun raised.
The scream of the deputy as he swing the rifle was mute by the roar the sawed off 12 gauge. The still closely patterned shot hit the fool in the head, removing his face and splattering his brain over jagged rock and loose dirt of the mine shaft wall. The crimson spray showed dark ever on the moist mine interior.
As the last of the Mustard brothers dropped like sack of rotten potatoes, the mine shuddered from the impact of scatter gun’s sound vibrations on the weak and aging supports. When the minor tremors had stopped Ash looked over at Wolf, “Gorram it’s nice to have you around, thanks..... I’d say you spread that Mustard pretty thin. “ Then looking down at the body of dead deputy, “We’d better search him, he may have a suppressor to use on that riffle; I don’t think we want to chance to many more shotgun blasts...... We’d better prepare for that Lurn Shwei Jah Jwohn Sheriff to return too.”
The kid groaned as he got up to go check the deputy, “I sure hope he’s the last of them, I don’t have too many more places left that family ain’t thumped.”

Another day under Boot Hill
Hornsilver Mine - Old Shaft, Regina, Frisco, Day Nine 12:30 am Planet Time
Everything happened fast as was the case in most combat situations. And like the old saying went, no plan survives contact with the enemy, and that was what happened here.
Ash dropped the home rigged flash bang, then the two of them dropped following its explosion only to find it had really not a damn thing to stop the last Mustard from acting. Ash trying to stab the guy and getting clobbered yet again and two shotgun blasts from Wolf’s sawed off pump to help take the Mustard down and then it was over. However with the noise from the flash bang, the two shotgun blasts and the rifle fire echoing within the mines walls, surprise was no longer an option.
Moving quickly to the Mustard brothers side, Wolf felt for a pulse, and just to be on the safe side took out his combat knife and severed the dead man’s jugular before searching him. The mechanic had always lived by the rule better safe then dead. His next stop was Ash to see if he was ok to continue.
“Gorram it’s nice to have you around, thanks..... I’d say you spread that Mustard pretty thin.“
“Yeah well it’s nice someone thinks so as I'm lousy at making sandwiches" Wolf said with a smile that did not reach his eyes as he reloaded the shotgun and placed it back into the holster on his back.
“We’d better search him, he may have a suppressor to use on that riffle; I don’t think we want to chance to many more shotgun blasts...... We’d better prepare for that Lurn Shwei Jah Jwohn Sheriff to return too.”
“Already done” Wolf replied as he drew his left sided Baretta, checked the clip and slide to make sure they had not been effected by the fall, then reholstered it back under his arm. Doing the same to the Baretta under his right arm he kept this one in his hand, safety off, ready to fire.
“I sure hope he’s the last of them, I don’t have too many more places left that family ain’t thumped.”
“Amen to that my friend, you up to continue?”
(OK will end my post here to allow Odyson to answer if he wishes. As the post above says after I made sure he was dead, I quickly frisked him, so if I found anything of importance please let me know.)

Hornsilver Mine - Secret Room, Regina, Frisco, Day Nine 12:25 am Planet Time
"Sam!" Willow called crisply, "Walk away, my pet and don't rile Miss Brigit up any more. Buddha only knows whatever else she may have hidden away under those skirts. And you, my pretend schoolmarm," Willow turned her imperious gaze on the redhead, "Even a fake teacher should be smarter than breaking the seal on something before you check it out. Amateurs! I work with amateurs!”
Muttering under his breath obscenities that even made Wyatt blush, Sam stepped back from the crate further, but dropped his hand to the butt of his pistol and glared at the darkness with narrowed, frenetic eyes. For his part, Wyatt wasn’t taking his baby blues off of Bridgette.
"Don't want to be breaking anything without at least a clue of what's in there. Maybe a trace was left on this side of the glass when it was sealed." Willow leaned in with both hands held before her to sweep further inside the sarcophagus.
The first beep resounded in the room with the clarity of a school bell. The second was more like that of a boxing ring. Wyatt’s shoulders clenched tight, and Sam dropped into a crouch that reminded the captain very much of a caged, rabid dog he’d once witnessed in Belmonte.
I'll be damned if I let some greenhorn like you steal it from me now. It's mine! I earned it and I'm the only one who'll be walking out with it!" She looks around the room and then steps back.
Suddenly there is a huge bang from the corridor to this room as if something just fell on the hatchway followed by the muffled sound of a shotgun. Wyatt’s Colt was skinned before the sound had registered consciously. Stepping forward, the captain quickly leveled his weapon back down the hall while keeping Bridget in his peripheral and moving to put himself between Willow and the commotion. Sam, on the other hand, had twitchy nerves to begin with, and he had just about lost control. Producing his own weapon he grinned a bit wildly and sank back against the wall.
“That’s the big bad wolf, and he’s a huffin’ and a puffin’,” he said, following it up with a nervous giggle.
Out of the corner of his eye, Wyatt watched Brigit run over to a crate nearby where a crowbar is resting. "Here! I'll show you." she says as she grabs the crowbar and heads towards the coffin with the intent to smash open the glass.
With a fluid turn, Wyatt leveled his Colt at Bridgette and said, “Don’t.”
(OOC: If she doesn’t stop, he’s going to put a bullet in her shoulder in an attempt to drop her.)

Almost Canada Day :)
Willow watched the scanner in her peripheral vision while keeping an eye on Sam, worried her tightly wound friend would snap under the strain. As the device whirled and whirled, Willow let her breath out slowly. Maybe it had been just a show to scare locals, Willow wondered when the device beeped once to indicate it had found something worthy of analysis. When it beeped a second time and scrawled its warning in both official languages, Willow paled.
"A bio weapon, one that's mutated from the original strain. Which means, even if you were a government puppet and could get your hands on a vaccine, it wouldn't work. At least, not enough. "
Brigit goes red in the face, "What! No! Ten years chasing down this score and you tell me it's contaminated? No! No gorram way! it's a trick. You want it all for yourselves don't you!? That bastard Benny put you up to this? I'll be damned if I let some greenhorn like you steal it from me now. It's mine! I earned it and I'm the only one who'll be walking out with it!" She looks around the room and then steps back.
Before Willow could react, a huge bang from the corridor to this room sounded as if something just fell on the hatchway followed by the muffled sound of a shotgun. Willow could barely register teh sound before Wyatt was between her and the corrider, her dark angel as always.
Willow opened her mouth to try and talk Sam down before he fired in such a small, reinforced area when Brigit ran over to a crate nearby where a crowbar was resting. "Here! I'll show you." she says as she grabs the crowbar and heads towards the coffin with the intent to smash open the glass.
Willow hissed a Bengali curse that still managed to sound musical and charming as she stepped around the casket to put herself between Brigit and the casket, dropping the analyser into the open casket. Setting herself firmly in the tai chi stance for Moving Clouds, Willow prepared to stop Brigit bodily if necessary.
