waiting
once a week is a fairly standard speed.
some games move slightly faster than that... others slower.
If the game gets to where it's expected that you post more than once a week to the game thread you'd better hope that nothing comes up in real life otherwise your character is going to get left behind while your dealing with a sick child, or pet, or whatever.
If if it helps, picture my character standing in front of a breastplate that is phasing in an out of existence. I'm been talking with tiamat through PM and am just waiting for confirmation before I post. I just don't want to post that I pick up an item, only to have that item not actually exist.

Waiting period for posts......
Deuclion is correct. I don't want to interfere in anyone's real life activity so, a post once a week is par for the course. If someone doesn't post within that time I will play that character in their absence and make the decisions for them (and I don't wanna hear any griping, lol). For all intents and purposes, the group will stay together and no one will be left behind (unless of course some one dies).
From now on, when in doubt, go ahead and post. I will contact you in no more than 3 days if I see something wrong by pm. You can edit your post to make it right and you don't necessarily have to rewrite the whole thing.

Well... it happens again.
I'm sorry you have to go Deathwysh. I was looking forward to gaming with you. I also know what it's like to want to be able to post several times a day. But, sometimes life doesn't permit. But, if you want to leave, then okay.

LOL
Some people take things a little too seriously...
Sorry to see you go DW, hope you find a game that better suits you.
Ava, I think it would be amazing RP to have a drow priestess try to convert an elven priestess. just sayin'

DW "Irgune" is gone.....
Never existed is more like it. DW wasn't satisfied with the speed of this game and let that impatience transfer to his character. I asked him to delete his post because it wasn't appropriate to the game and he said, "yeah, I'll delete it, alright" and deleted every post he made. Then I'm almost sure he "smote" me in the karma.

Lost
Half in, half out of character:
I don't know what the terrain around the city is like and just wanted to make sure we got to the haunted site without getting lost or missing it. Within one mile of farmland or very light woods would be no problem on our own... one mile of hills and thick forest is very easy to get of course.
If detailed directions are sure to get us there, no need for the escort. If something attacks, he'd only be a liability.

Haha, yes Deuc!
Well, I didn't go with the breastplate... but I did nab a +1 Mithral Chain Shirt of Shadow. What a wonderful pair we will make.

Chiron's Controller
It's me. Mostly.
Tiamat just took what I wrote in the q&a and added it to the game thread as part of the "Ok, you're moving now" update
He didn't say anything new, just reworded what I'd already said.

Totally OK
I'm ok with you narrating stuff like that. I'd said something in the q&a mostly how Chiron would have said it, so you made him say it.
And sometimes I'll say he does one thing, but the associated skill check that goes with that action fails, so you can definitely tweak the actions I put in my post to suit what the dice (or dice generator) say actually happen. And we'll post out of initiative order... misunderstand who's in the room... the list of things you might need to alter goes on and on.
In my mind, being OK with the DM changing some stuff is one of the things that goes with play-by-post gaming just like consuming upwards of 2 liters of Mtn Dew is a given for at-the-table games.
As long as you don't have me slaughter the villagers or some other way OoC move, I'm probably going to be fine with the change.

Clarification
Hey glad we're moving forward, I'll have a post up shortly.
Just want to clarify the character name is Seluumiel not Suumiel.

Lol
Kinda.
Chiron's initial plan was: Let's go there. See what we can see. Come back here.
He didn't explicitly say that searching for the kid was part of the plan and Lacey called him on it, maybe overreacting a bit in the process, maybe not.
Because of the friction that came from his too quickly described plan, Chiron revised the wording to: Let's go there. See what we can see, which includes looking for the kid and following any clues we might find. Come back here.
He just found a way of rewording that seems to, at least, satisfy everyone.
