thank you.
For updating the characters so swiftly.
I am gone now until Tuesday at least. Off to spent Christmas with my sister and her husband in Quebec City.
Looking forward to mishaps and adventures in the Verse, come the new year.

Merry Christmas!
Here's wishing all of you the best of the Holidays! Whatever your plans and destinations, I wish you all a joyous and safe Christmas (and New Year)!
Now, by way of presents... I got inspired yesterday and started working up some "crew sketches" of my own. Nothing fancy, mind you, and I'm sure they'll pale in comparison with what Brom's got working, but Al's intro post and my poor little wacom sitting there looking lonely got me started... I picked on Dash, first (cuz I had a solid idea of what he might look like)... Hopefully, I'll get others done over the course of the long weekend, I'll post links to them here as they get done.
Sam Dash
Kora Mei Ling
Asher Talhone
Willow Takahara
Trish Wilmont

If no one has taken #6 that's the one Kora wants.

Updates...
Sam, Kora, and Asher's "portraits" are more or less done. Asher and Kora might need a little tweaking to make them look a bit less like the reference pics I used, of course... LysKhala mentioned Grace Park and Blammm pointed at Keifer, though, so they may just be close to what the players had in mind... Recommendations, corrections?
Willow's next, I think...

Looking good.
Ok, so with everythin' pressin' an' all the monies collected it looks as though we got 4,250c t' spend on Rocinante. Ways I figure it we could git ourselves a few decoy missiles (without the launcher) at 500c per missile. The boss already said what we got upgraded so there ain't no more o' that by way o' ship systems an' dropping a few thousand creds into armor'd only get us a couple o' points. Here's the breakdown with 4,250c spendin' options:
Wound Armor: 1,200c/point (We could git 3 points an' that'd leave us with 640c t' put towards food, fuel, etc. or one decoy missile leavin' us with 140c for food, fuel, etc.)
Stun Armor: 1,000c/point (We could git 4 points an' that'd leave us with 250c fer food, fuel, etc.).
Short-range decoy missiles: 500c/missile (We could git 8 missiles leavin' us with 250c fer food, fuel, etc.).
That bein' the thought process in this here brain pan, what d' the rest o' ya think?

Stun vs wound
On a person, Stun damage is damage that can knock you down, unconscious or seriously sleepy. It is not life threatening and it is shaken off (healed) rapidly.
Wound damage is damage to the body that create physical marks (bullets, knives, etc). This damage can leave you with a case of the deads, unless you have a medic around.
Now for a Ship, Stun Damage effects the operating systems of the vessel. Life support, sensors, communications etc can all be effected by Stun Damage. Like a person, it can be shaken off, especially with the help of a good mechanic and redundancy systems. Some ship to ship weapons aim to damage only the electrical systems so the ship can be taken intact (Our Ms. Reynolds episode).
Wound damage to a ship is physical damage (Stop blowing holes in my bloody ship!). These can only be repaired with a mechanic and a lot of duct tape.

I'm back too
Willow says: I like the idea of Wound Armour for anything I will be travelling in. I don't know much about missiles (being a non-violent Buddhist type) but anything with the word "coy" in it is ok by me.
Umm, Wyatt, without a missle launcher, how do we, umm, launch them? Lob 'em out the cargo bay?

aha
so...we also need a supply of duct tape or does that come out of my own pocket?
Oh and being an electrician/mechanic by trade, I'm all for any kind of armor especially "stun" since I HATE to work electrical problems. hmm...that could make for a nice little 'complication' for Kora.

Money and things
Remember when we are starting the game you are together for a year, having just finished a mission that didn't go well. Don't go spending a lot of money on fuel and food, because I will tell you exactly how much you have of both. You will be landing on Beaumonde with 500 credits, very little fuel (Fill'er up), port fees to pay (They raised the rates again!), and very little in the kitchen except protein paste(I'd kill for a carrot, well maybe not kill - injure though)
So arm and equip, buff up the ship, then let me know when you are ready.

Oh sure! More decisions!
Hmmm... I'm thinking the wound armor might not be a bad idea but the stun armor do have it's merits too, don't it? Helm and Nav systems get fried and Sam can't fly the ship right? In which case, I don't reckon it matters if they try ta blow holes in 'er, anyhoo, does it? I'll go with the stun armor, but follow the general concensus.
Ain't I the li'l ruttin' diplomat, though?
P.S. Hoping to have Miss Willow's portrait done this evening. Got caught up in the holidays and slowed down a bit.

Answers.
Well, seein's how the lot o' ya are leanin' towards the armor here's my thinkin':
I says we go partial on the Stun Armor an' git ourselves a couple o' decoy missiles. Way I figure it; Sam's a sure thing in a loop-de-loop an' Trish n' me can do right fine ourselves so I'm not so concerned with the Wound Armor. Sam's got it figured near t' spot on as I sees it with the systems an' their importance anyway's an' Kora don't shine t' electrical doohickies none niether, so we's best be protectin' the vitals.
Still, I ain't dismissin' the 'portance o' the decoy missiles. T' answer yer question Willow; we suit up an' drop 'em out the bay door. A missile launcher'd be cause fer the Law t' sit up n' take notice, so's I want t' be more er less blendin' proper than armed fer bear.
So, what I'm stickin' t' the wind is tha' we dose up on three points o' Stun Armor fer a total o' 3,000c an' buy two decoy short rangers fer 1,000c. Tha' leaves us with 250c not accounted fer. Any idears?

Does that give us enough?
Will we still have enough credits on hand for all the good things we'll be needin' to pay fer once we get planet-side? (i.e. port fees, fuel, food [a growing lad needs to eat, ya know], etc)
